hes gorgeous......you know, there should be communes everywhere in every city and every neighborhood for kids who run away from terrible homes. their should be directories for jobs all over the place.
I'm a volunteer with StandUp For Kids - "squatter" was his street name. NO, it's not the ultimate freedom. Kids surviving out there (it's not living, it's surviving) have a hard existence - enduring the weather, adults that take advantage of them, and they don't choose to be out there - its usually thinking the streets are better than being at home being abused or neglected. They eat out of dumpsters. They have survival sex for money.
there are a lot that do it for the freedom. that DONT get taken advantage of. that aren't fucking idiots and know how to survive and travel around for the new friends and adventures. I hate the pity looks we always get.
There are shelters for under the age of 18 kids. They are not all bad, I had to live in a few and I hated a lot of them. There are a few good ones however. Do not live on the streets, you will not get a job and an apt and make it in a place like NYC or Chicago or LA. Do you have ID? Security deposits equalling upto 3 months worth of rent? Money for the lights or electricity? Travelling to your job money? Clothing money? Food money? Emergency money? THINK before you run away. Please.
The fact is... the majority of the children running are abused in some way... and weighing pros and cons just doesn't come into their rational, it would be irrational if it did.
Yeah, shadynema183, I agree, no need to worry if it is the cop waking ya up to tell ya to move along or simply give ya a ticket or haul ya off to jail or if it is someone with a knife or gun. No worry when shoes, clothes, ID get stolen or beaten and raped. Ho, ho, ho. Ultimate freedom and oh, so much fun.
I hear ya, even older homeless ppl have the same shit happen to them. I lost my place when I was in my mid 20's and slept in the park right across from my old apt. and was jumped (my boyf was with me too) by a group of drunken black kids looking for cash. It was awful. I ended up bringing my 3 cats to a shelter because I could not bare to have them out on the streets any longer. They were so sad and cried the entire time I hope they are ok today...THAT was a long time ago.
this guys a fuckin idiot. its not hard to live or even make money on the fuckin streets. its called the ultimate freedom. no bills, no responsibilities, no fuckin worries.
Are you doing it? Are you on the streets? Are you a young girl who thought life sucked at home and took off and ended up turning tricks to live or some asshole pimp got his mitts on you and threatens you with death if you don't suck dick for him?
just stop running away ass holes!!!! i am a kid and i live a horrable life i though of running away a cople times but i got some brains!!! im not gona live on the streets!!!first ill stand on my own feet get an aparntment get to the leagel age (18) and live on my own with my own mony (ill work ofcoarse) i just got 3 years to go!!! its not much !! and ill be free!!!! yey

... its not so easy sister. I work as a supervisor for UPS, I make about $15 an hour in a better job than most college students my age could get... and still I have trouble making ends meet. I'm not better than anyone else, and I don't try to seem so. But I know when you turn 18, it doesn't necessarily mean you are an adult (mentally). You can still be a run away at 18...

Just because you live "on the streets" doesn't mean you have to live in the shit part of town.
