  • Fantastic..!! Going through this to play live with my band and this version is inspirational...Real raw and pure. SRV's teh man..!!!

  • I have a version from 1987 where Stevie plays along with Tommy Shannon's bass lick.......the version in 1987 is actually his first time performing it live....if anybody wants to hear it I'd be happy to send it to them

  • Comparing this version with the later, shows how Stevie could take a cool song and make it go WOW!

  • This is a classic piece of audio. It shows how a song needs to mature before the Band will be satisfied.

  • Raw--What a great version--

  • RAW--Love this version!!

  • Justin Bieber disliked this video.

  • Love, Love, Love, Loved it! This was one of the BEST 'still- videos' of Stevie Ray and Double Trouble. Regardless of 'the kinks'- this video hit right on. The song was performed with such passion, the kind that never dies. Love and Miss Ya Stevie!

  • 1:00

  • I love the solos on this version, SRVs the best.

  • Check out maaa band :)

  • Oh, I love this version. It's raw and unpolished! Great! Thanks so much for posting this. The photos are great as well. Will always and forever love Stevie.

  • Wait until tommorow :10 SRV JH EVH The Three

  • @Btpassrusher different key though yeah? kind of like a cross between life without you and wait until tomorrow

  • Oh wow... a picture of number one before it was road worn. Awesome!

  • great version..this was at the stone pony 1988..a great show, however stevie played crossfire a few times in late 1987.

  • Love the pic of Clapton and Stevie at 2:25 secs. You can appreciate the final version of Crossfire after hearing this... Love SRV RIP

  • Awesome!

  • i know his voice is hurting him right here...but it adds a nice dimension to the lyrics...

  • This version is awesome!

It sounds dirty and has a lot of crunch to it.

Stevie with a Les Paul at 4:04, that was so cool.

  • @C1o88er3d Holy.Smokin.Hell. This is hot! I love this song and never heard this version before. Damn I'm happy you posted it.

  • Sorry man, I didn't post this.

    bluessmith posted this one.

  • keep in mind this was right when they started on this song. This well before it was released on "In Step". Yeah it still had some kinks, but I also think this is how all songs start.

  • dude these are little nuggets that will never be repeated, enjoy them.

  • never seen many of these photos of srv before ..that is cool. this version of the song isnt nearly as good as many of the others I heard. heard him play this much better in the other versions

  • this is an early version of the song before the album was produced. I think thats why it sounds so different

  • SRV with a Les Paul?

I didn't know he had an evil twin.

  • hehehe 4:07

  • this is mean and nasty like no other version of crossfire ive heard, SRV with the les paul is classic

  • where do u see SRV wit a Les Paul?

  • 4:07 i think is a gibson les paul, although it could be gibson's guitar before the les paul, which i always forget the name of, im a fender guy not gibson, but to me it looks like what gibson is calling "the les paul classic" has the pickguard on it.

  • thts a standard

  • Honestly i bet Stevey could tow the truck that carried his gear with the guage strings he used! But what a bloody sound :D

  • I use Extra slinky! Maybe I should change!!!

  • lol if you want Steveys sound then the heavier the better, but youd have to have the thickest, strongest bad ass fingers on the planet. I love stevey but it just doesnt suit my style, i use 9 guage, Elixrs, XLs... or sometimes fender bullets.

  • HendrixVaughan

  • LOL he looks like he is gonna do somthing at 5:14 rofl!!!!!!!

  • THANX 4 Posting this .........

  • i meant playing

  • thats my first and probably only time seeing a pic of stevie paying a les paul

  • do you have the video from this?

  • I wish. Stay tuned though, Ive got some Robert Cray and SRV comin.

  • Sweet!

  • very great!

  • this is what he said "he fixed it he fixed my labavodaldhild." ROFL go stevie go!!!!!!!!!

  • whats he saying in the beggining haha?

  • Hes just bein Stevie. :)

  • Reese's tone on this makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, get'em Reese! SRV's voice and guitar very raw and edgy, love it.

  • Well done.

  • Really cool, thanks for posting. Where did you get something like this?

  • Got it in a trade a while back. Thanks, all the best.

  • thanx nice slide show
