@the0gosh0show : ) Emma has never ever tried to bite any of us. I think with any dog its how they are brought up. They are very much attention needers. House breaking them can be difficult. Emma still has accidents occasionally in the house. Prices can vary between 500 on up. There are plenty of Italian Greyhound Rescue agencies though where you can get one much less expensive. They are one that ppl have had to give up for various reasons. Google IG Rescue and see what you find. : )

You're always going to get "abuse" flak for a video of a whining dog. It's not abused. It's just a small squirley dog. My aunt's doxin would cry and whine and howl if you so much as whistled a tune to yourself. Believe me, that dog was well treated.

Also, being an IG owner myself, I can say with certainty this dog is abused in no way, shape or form. You don't even need to be a pet owner to realize this - I'd like to think common sense would tell you that this dog is clearly as happy and as spoiled as they come.
I love this so much! I have two iggy's and the older one will "roo" with me all of the time. @chrissy3423 Thanks for watching. Iggy's are wonderful. They are very loving, want to snuggle AND LOVE AND NEED lots of attention. Emma has to be the center of attention when it comes to my pets. If im paying the other animals attention she is sure to come over immediately to get some attention also. Potty training can be a challenge with Iggys it seems. Emma hates the rain. Shivers in the cold (or when she wants to make you feel guilty lol) and will use Bambi eyes on you to get her way. : )
@chrissy3423 They are a bit fragile when they are little so special care has to be taken. Best to do is check out a bunch of sites on Italian Greyhounds. There are italian greyhound adoption sites too.
@tiggywrinkle To be honest Im not sure why she reacts to it. But you can just say the words guava, mama, chihuahua or sing like an opera persona, or rooo and she will start going. She is just a natural roo'er I guess. My wife says she is just a drama queen. lol But she is a total sweetheart and one spoiled lil dog. Emma has her own Face Book page also. : )

We LOVE Emma! We have one too. Just got her three weeks ago and she hasn't started to make much noises when we are around yet. But we KNOW she can bark cause we have seen her do it with her new big brother (wiener dog) accross the yard. She does it and then she looks at us with THOSE eyes!
@scobev YEP!! Those eyes will help her get away with sooooooo much!! lol = ) There are vids of other Iggys, whippets and greyhounds "rooing" on YT. You could probably train her roo too. Just find a good video, put on the speakers and hold her in your lap and you let the dogs on the video start rooing first then you join in in a soft rooing tone sounding like them and tilt your head up so your pup see it and she might just start mimicking. Just type in "greyhound rooing" in the search.
This is one of the funniest vids I've seen - poor wee Emma - she is SO cute - tried same with my dogs - Deerhounds, JAck Russelll and a lab but no joy! More treats for Emma pls!

@MsEmilySG lol In words like guava, chihuahua, and mama it seems that she recogizes the ahhhhh sound in the words and it makes her start rooing. also if I sing like pavarotti or pretty much sing in general she will start rooing and of course if I just roooo like a hound she will go off too.
@MsEmilySG They are wonderful dogs and friends. They do require a lot of attention though and can have some special needs. And they have a way of making you feel guilty with those Bambi eyes of theirs if they dont get their way. lol There are actually quite a few Italian Greyhound/Whippet/Greyhound Rescue sites where ppl can adopt them.

She is just a natural roo'er I guess. My wife says she is just a drama queen. lol But she is a total sweetheart and one spoiled lil dog. Emma has her own Face Book page also. : )

We LOVE Emma! We have one too. Just got her three weeks ago and she hasn't started to make much noises when we are around yet. But we KNOW she can bark cause we have seen her do it with her new big brother (wiener dog) accross the yard. She does it and then she looks at us with THOSE eyes!

@scobev YEP!! Those eyes will help her get away with sooooooo much!! lol = ) There are vids of other Iggys, whippets and greyhounds "rooing" on YT. You could probably train her roo too. Just find a good video, put on the speakers and hold her in your lap and you let the dogs on the video start rooing first then you join in in a soft rooing tone sounding like them and tilt your head up so your pup see it and she might just start mimicking. Just type in "greyhound rooing" in the search.

@MsEmilySG lol In words like guava, chihuahua, and mama it seems that she recogizes the ahhhhh sound in the words and it makes her start rooing. also if I sing like pavarotti or pretty much sing in general she will start rooing and of course if I just roooo like a hound she will go off too.

@MsEmilySG They are wonderful dogs and friends. They do require a lot of attention though and can have some special needs. And they have a way of making you feel guilty with those Bambi eyes of theirs if they dont get their way. lol There are actually quite a few Italian Greyhound/Whippet/Greyhound Rescue sites where ppl can adopt them.
