Tarik, how many years of exercise did you need to achieve this? Is there any kind of special dancing school you studied in or just by yourself?

I've been dancing for over 20yrs. I started taking classes with a lady named Morocco. I learned the basic movement vocabulary from her. Once I knew that then I started watching othere dancers,particularly Egyptians like Fifi Abdo, and Sohair Zaki. When I went to Egypt I saw how the guys move when they dance, how they carry themselves etc.

Your efford is really admirable, the least to say. You said 'when i went to Egypt' so you are not from Egypt? Have you ever thought to collaborate with dancers of different kinds?

I also paid close attention to other male dancers, like in Ballet, and flamenco and Hula, Fred Astaire, the Nicholas Brothers, to see how they expresed themselves on stage. There's no way I can say how long it takes. I'm still learning and improving on my skills and knowledge.

I love Egypt. I usually go every summer. If you've never been there, the festival is a good excuse. I would stay at least a week after the festival though to see the real Egypt. Don't spend your whole time at the hotel. I spend very little time at the Festival actually.
