you should work for the gov´t. getting paid for nothing due to nepotism. declining the prize would have been mature and impressive and could have been funny. sitting down was. - i thought it was part of your routine.

To give some background... the idea was to to a comedy routine without actually doing standup. John didn't get the prize money, but he won.
