@OhEmGeEiTzKeViN I'll have to do a tutorial on this but somewhere along the render settings pages you'll find a checkbox towards the lower part of one of these windows. It should say something involving audio. Look around and you'll see it.
when i exported and put my video on youtube it was really small. It was like a smaller rectangle in the big rectangle so there was a lot of black surrounding my video. How do i fix this??
@tong916 after clicking the output module be sure to check the "Audio Output" box. I know I covered this in the past but cant seem to find it right now.
i dont think you explained it in the video but, whats the difference between rendering a video as opposed to just exporting it as the same file type as the rendered one?
@barnmaster21 Rendering and exporting are the same thing. You can save the project file or you can render/export as a new format which is more compressed and better for uploading to sites such as YouTube.
any way to change the bit rate or lower the file size of the output without losing quality? i'm just making a slide show and the .avi file is 900mb for a 5min slide show the comp is dv ntsc 720x480
@Barabapapa123 ya can lower the bit rate a bit but in reality, 900mb isnt high at all for computers and streaming these days........slide shows have lots of movement and that turns into a higher file size in the end.
quicktime doesn't appear as an option under output format. please help, i just installed the newest version of quicktime and it still doesn't show up.
If you have bought After Effects there should be no reason why the Quicktime format should not be there. When people download programs like this they tend to miss important files such as codecs and export formats. If this is a new program call Adobe and see what they can do as you are given free customer support though Adobe when you buy their products.
thank you, the problem was that i did not have quicktime installed on my computer when i installed after effects. so i installed quicktime and reinstalled after effects and that fixed my problem.
Yea After Effects is a high end program which requires a fast computer and lots if RAM. A 64bit operating system would work best as you can have more than 4GB of RAM. A fast processor and good video card also helps a lot.
help me please when i make my video for some reason my videos is going fast tell me how to stop that and exported i to AVI then played it and it is still fast help use out please
I can safely say I've never run into this problem before myself nor have I ever heard of it happening. I do suggest that you make sure you are exporting at the same frame rate, (usually stated as fps for Frames Per Second). Also be sure you are using the same frame rate as the media you are editing. You can drag the media to the new comp. button and it will match the size and FPS of that media.
yea right now I am walking though the interface, after a few more of those video I will go over some projects and such like I plan on doing for the Premiere Tutorials as well.
After Effects needs a lot of RAM, (memory) to run. It is suggested that you run at least 2GB however 4GB would be best on a 32 bit operating system and if you have a 64 bit operating system go with 8GB.
The way the program works is that it cant play things in real time from the hard drive...too much info. So everything is temporarily saved to the RAM and played from that.
If AE is complaining with 3GB of memory you may want to try reinstalling...that normally fixes glitches and such. Also be aware that you are signed up for free phone and email support with Adobe when you buy their products.
I know a lot of people have said good tutorial and stuff but i'm going to say it too, didn't really know how to export well in after effects before but now i do, thanks a lot mate :)
Actually in this case there were no audio tracks in this project so I didn't have to export but if you see the "Rendering and Jumping" video in the "Your Questions Answered" playlist you will see how to go about doing that.

A bit of help? I want to have the video ready for broadcast. What would be my best options when it comes to rendering? Thank you.
ottoelperro 1 year ago
@ottoelperro Ask one of your supervisors but usually when I'm asked to export for broadcast, I either export to DVC Pro Tape or as an MPEG2 file.

SonicOrbStudios, after rendering my clip plays slow, like freezing, it's my PC's fault - not performant enough?
