  • Very nice, dude!

  • You've done a wonderful job at using the technology to teach here...great work.

  • Great explanation/ tutorial/ tabs!!!

  • nice video, very clear explanations! Thanks for posting!!

  • Thanks for taking the time to make the vid. Don't let picky fuckers put you off. Nice lesson

  • Thanks, well taught.

  • Thanks for the very well taught song. Along w the tabs too. (a bonus) BTW I like your clear pick guard.

  • Very Good, NOW I am a Fan and will friend you for more lessons ... Thanks from The Icon King of Mellow ... MellowNature.

  • Thanks man. Well done. Explanations coupled with the tabs was a nice touch...very clear.

  • An excellent tutorial for one of my favourite S&G numbers. Do you have a cover I can listen to please?

  • Thanks you very much! YOU ROCK!!! mtree55! Love it!

  • I'm always so glad when I'm trying to learn a song and I find a lesson like this one. Thanks.

  • Greta tutorial! Many thanks, but can you explain the lick at 1 min 55 of the song?

  • Really great tutorial. Many thanks but can you explain the lick at 1 min 55 of the song ?

  • Thanks for a great vid. I think the chord should change to C as you sing 'I am a' into the G for 'rock', rather than stay on the D as you have. If you watch the 2 black and white vids of S&G playing this live, you can just make out Paul Simon's change to the C. The chord also fits the notes being sung better.

Interesting too that in both those vids he stays on G for the links whereas on the record they go to Em as you have done.

  • Another great tutorial, especially with the added tabulature. After looking at countless tutorials, these are the best I've found.

  • thanks a lot perfectly done :)

  • Great tutorial thanks alot! maybe if you were to slow down a bit while playing it, it would be easier to follow... and people could play along, but still, watched the tutorial 3 times and i've cracked it. thanks and keep it up!

  • A guy does a great tutorial to help all guitar students and he gets this. Well let me say thanks for all that you have done and especially for this excellent tutorial. I am a senior and a student and I think like many very appreciative so a big thank you.

    Best wishes

  • "I am a rock" is in C, not G!

  • @krunstefluts If you put a capo on the 5th fret and play a G chord finger position, as I've done in this video, guess what chord you're playing? Go ahead, take a guess.

  • @mtreed55

You didn't mention the 5th fret in the movie.

  • @krunstefluts Actually, I did. The second sentence in the video is "I have a capo on the fifth fret". It's also written in the information below the video immediately after the words "standard tuning"

  • @mtreed55 er, also you can see the capo in the video. some people.....

    great playing mate!

  • @Jwo32 Some people... have rather poor eyesight. That caused me to develope a better musical talent than I would otherwise have.

  • @mtreed55 ...it amazes me how ignorant some people are and how quick they are to make some silly stupid comment about the video. This was an excellent lesson, even providing tabs, and a clear and succinct explanation about the capo...and still someone says something stupid like "I am a rock is in C, not G!" Anyway, thanks for posting. I learned it in 5 minutes, thanks to your tutorial.

  • @krunstefluts

And unless you're blind you can probably see the capo on the 5th fret unless he is playing the shortest guitar I've ever encountered....

  • @krunstefluts Thanks for a great tutorial, one of the few lessons that provide real-time chords and finger patterns. Keep up the great work and I'll check out your other videos.

  • tks for sharing ur tenantwith us , want to see more simon and gargunkel's song or may be ..., bee gees. tkds again!!!

  • good job ,always loved that song now i plat it. dont sound to bad thank you.

  • The tutorials are great . thanks. More would be welcome.

  • Great tutorial...Very much appreciated!

  • Thanks man - I found so many wrong chord charts on the 'net and finally someone has it right!

  • thanks alot

  • ahhh i dont have a capo

cant it be with a capo

  • Very well done ..fabulous voice..thx for sharing your music talent.

  • this is great. i just recently started guitar and once i master a and c, im sure i will be able to play this. thanks a ton

  • On 1:23, you play 3 notes walking down the scale - were those C, B, and A? Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting this! Sounds great, and I'm going to work on it.

  • Thanks for teaching me this song. You break things down extremely well. I was able to use your interpretation and amke a video the same night. Thanks for helping me!

  • Thank you, It is a very good instructional video for this classic. My only worries are that nasty barre chord. Previously, I've not been able to play barre chords. Hopefully as my thumb heals, I may be able to.

  • You've probably got the Bm by now, but if not, what kind of guitar do you have? I got a new one, and it is MUCH easier to play Bm. It isn't that clear, but at least it is recognizable. It just takes practice.

  • Actually I haven't worked on this song yet. I learned Scarborough, Bookends and Blackbird I just started Redemption Song (using a pick). My thumb is better than before the surgery, but still has pain 7 months later. I have an electic Gibson SG and a 6-string Guild GAD 50E. I mostly hack away at my acoustic.
