I'm running a Phenom 9850 Quad-core 2.5ghz,4gb 1066 ram, Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 and Vista 32bit.I play on high settings with playable 30-40ish fps with peaks in low 70's in some areas. Amazing game graphically. Combat is awesome!
Do you think I would be able to run AoC on medium-high settings and still have playable fps? (hoping at least over 15 while just exploring)
I feel dumb for asking but I hardly know anything about computer specs and I dont want to get this game unless I'm confident that I will be able to run it decently. I would appreciate your opinion on this =)
Not totally true. On the new generation of ATI cards (4xxx) AoC runs better than it does on an equivalent nvidia setup. I would actually go so far as to say that the game favors the ATI architecture. Nvidia will pull ahead only if you have an SLI setup since SLI is more efficient in this game than crossfire.

they r fine-tuning it now, so the performance will be the same as in DX9 ;)

This is an MMO, not a singleplayer game. grass/trees + 3d = massive lag. I prefer my pvp lag free.

All max, FPS is low. 17-25
Testlive has a update, FPS doubled. 45fps average.

The video is dark here because of low gamma/brightness settings.
Grass/trees ARE in 3D.
The cam follows you from behind, but you can pan around when moving by holding right mouse pressed. Once you let go, the camera returns do default.

this game hates AMD, and ATI. check drivers for your card and you should be ok.

Got the game about a week ago, glad to say that I am running it on full settings with at least 20 fps in quest hubs.
My fav thing so far has to be the view distance. Just so amazing being able to see the sun rise over mountains from the opposite side of the zone. =)
