  • JD... Fabulous! Fabulous story, great ending, just terrrific. thanks so much!

  • If this series had to end, what a magnificent way for it to go out. Pure epic brilliance.

  • Whoa there, grizzly bear!

    Beat it--Ooooooooooooooooooooo!

I could laugh for fucking days.

  • Nice thumbs up at the end.

  • okay i feel like the sound at 8:10 when mcdonald turns gray is from a song (since it's also the sound used when he gets shocked earlier).

    SHED SOME LIGHT PLEASE?

  • I now point my toilet paper roll and say "You Better Charm that Snake" as matter of course.

  • @epernay74 And I like to run into random rooms full of people and say "Does anyone know this song? It goes BA BA BA BA BOM!"

  • The transition from laser being fired during Danger Zone to the cock and volleyball ray during Playing with the Boys is genius. This entire series has shown me the raw power of truly smooth music. I wish that it would have never ended. A little part of me died when Hollywood Steve died.

  • Is that Mario or Luigi that Giorgio turns into at the end? "A-We ween!"

    Pure, unadulterated brilliance. And smoothness.

  • I don't know, I'm Jim Messina.

  • I would be eternally grateful if somebody could tell me what the music is at around 1:50 where MJ calls Michael McDonald a grizzly bear!!!

Also, the music at 5:13 after "where's the beef"??? My Soundhound can't pick it up over the talking. And I can only find the soundtrack for the first 11 episodes. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Please help!!

  • @Sage80 the 5:13 part is 'out of touch' by hall & oates & the 1:50 part is 'no lookin' back' by michael mcdonald .i hope that helps

  • @harrychestwigg Thank you so much!!!!!! I owe you x a million!!!

  • Even in this show, Dan Aykroyd looks out of place just like in the real video!

  • Come to think of it, so did Christopher Cross.....

  • By 1985 Balboa had to keep relevant himself by dressing and shaving like DON JOHNSON......

  • Can't believe this is a year old now.... pretty soon 2010 will be an episode of Yacht Rock.

  • where's Steve Perry running off to?

  • FUCK BALLS THAT'S RELEVANT

  • "whos ready to shove some food down some poor kids f''in throats!"

  • The picture on the wall in Gene Balboa's house at 5:39 is the same image as that of Koko's soul as it leaves his body in Episode 2.

  • Haha! I love how they always have Steve Perry running like a bat out of hell.... xD

  • GODDAMMIT WHO MURDERED KOKO??????? TELL ME FOR I WILL AVENGE HIM!

  • DIG THAT! Absolutely marvelous...BAY-beh!

  • Dan Aykroyd was in The Blues Brothers which was technically a fictional group but thats why he was relevant

  • I notice Dan Aykroyd misspelled his own name (5:46). Freaking Canadians.

  • @boisvert42 My bad. I'm super embarrassed and soory aboot it.

  • @jdryznar AHHH! Why does this series have to end?! I want to know who killed Koko.

  • So all the guest stars from previous episodes were all in the 'We Are The World' song... was that a massive coincidence or were you planning that from the beginning?

  • Whoever was doing Paul Simon looked exactly like him!

  • This is the best episode so far! Michael McDonald in the Millenium Falcon... Truly epic!

  • great ending to the series.

  • They're all fantastic, but this ep and 3 are by far the best ones!

So many good quotes in this though.

  • yatch rock 13, this time, it's personal. Oh high I'm the ghost of Hollywood steve you caught me haunting people

  • We need one more chapter to completely end this story. WHO KILLED COCO?!

  • @SaskBlade Ted Templemen

  • "Fuck you Koko, I'm a rocker!"

  • what are the songs at 0:40 and at 1:04?

  • @BILMANDUDE not sure about 0:40, but 1:04 is The Chase by Giorgio Moroder

  • I had the opportunity a little while ago to talk to Loggins. All I wanted to ask him about was what Koko was like and how big of dicks Hall and Oates were.

  • love the "dicknose its 1985" line (Stiles T-shirt in Teen wolf) - great series

  • wtf have i done? what did i just spend 9:12 watching?

  • Comment removed

  • Why wasn't Michael McDonald in USA for Africa? Far from "irrelevant", he was on his way to being a 1985 Grammy Award winner for "Yah Mo B There" with James Ingram for best R&B performance by a duo (which Quincy

Jones himself produced!) --literally as "We Are the World" was being recorded.

Did they have a falling out--or maybe Michael McDonald just had a cold?

  • @funkmike Dan Aykroyd stole his invitation. Duh.

  • is it me or did jim musenia get worse as the 80s progressed

  • am i the only one that noticed christopher cross, michael mcdonald(after charming the snake), and gene balboa are wearing the same outfit just different color shirts?

  • Fun Fact: Giorgio Moroder wrote and produced some songs for Amy Holland (they appear on the Scarface soundtrack). Holland would later marry Michael McDonald. Koko, you magnificent bastard.

  • Fuckballs, that's relevant!

  • LOL I can't imagine that guy playing michael jackson ever singing that way!

  • yeah

  • holy crap that really looked like paul simon at 3:00

  • I would have ended the show differently:

The doctor should have said: That was Hollywood Steve, Goodnight!

  • Anyone else see the subliminal logo at 4:24?

  • Is that the guy who played Nite Owl II as Dan Akroyd? Lol.

  • Awesome. The doctor used the force to close Hollywood Steve's eyes through a set of glasses.

  • Did anyone notice Steve Perry running behind Christopher Cross at 4:28? ;-)

  • @sexigirlphi Thanks dude! I never saw it.

  • I like the way Dan Aykroyd used a typewriter to write in his own name over Michael McDonald's (barely) scribbled out name on the doctored invitation --and that he also misspelled it .

  • Beat it! Oooooooooooooooooo!

  • the power of smooth it strong with this one

  • "It's 1985, Dicknose!"

  • anybody else really digging "Sailing" with the drum march superimposed at the end of this?

  • @snacksforaddicts

It almost makes me want to cry.

  • Really, why wasn't Michael McDonald in USA for Africa? I mean, James Ingram got two solos (because Quincy produced it). Does anyone know?

  • Great way to bring it all full circle. Shame it has to end....but that's about as perfect of a wrap-up as you can get.

  • EPIC!!!! (yall had to go and mess with Georgio..lmao)

  • 7:06- what's the song in the background

  • @fobmachine21 "Method Of Modern Love" by Hall & Oates.

  • @KyProphet wow! too smooth for hall and oates but then again.....

  • Fucxkin hillarious

  • They actually had not started mixing mayonnaise into khani imitation krab meat until around the mid 1990's.

  • OMG!! Mike is touring with Fagen and BOZ SCAGGS!!! As the Dukes of September!!

That is a smooth name. I see a noughties Yacht Rock peak into the future!

  • @BrickLaneBetty Hi , Mandy ! BOZ SCAGGS used to live ´in da streets ´ of Stockholm as a busk singer . I´ve seen him dozens & dozens of times , playin for nickles & dimes . / His first album was cut in Stockholm , in da sixties. I have it . Supposedly worth a fortune ..haha. / P.

  • @Hemulen40 No way really!??? I am impressed!

  • @BrickLaneBetty His rendition of ´Girl from the north country ´on dis album is a MUST !

  • So Mike eats bacon by the parcel and never made the leap to sashimi and inari like Kenny? Poor Mike....

  • I've been following you from the start and i truly believe I am Michael MacDonald. He and i have the same emotional issues.

I also think that Key Of Awesome is just so not up to the standards of Yacht Rock despite the fact they too are good. I mean maybe its because you shoot on film and that you actually have a completely unique story and not just parody... Just SO happy that Yacht rock is smooth!! You are all supreme artists! Thanks again!

    -Super Amanda

    Son of My Father!!

  • Nice to see you back!!!!

  • That was awful! I couldn't stop laughing though...at least until the end, anyway.

  • shove it up your butt Mork, we're busy.

  • YES!

  • Is Hollywood Steve's goatee grayin' as a tribute to ol' blue eyes*?

    *Not Frank Sinatra bro.

  • What a great series!

  • fuck balls, that's relevant!

  • Rocks haad enough to exPLOOOOOde di black-a hole!

  • I can't get over how fucking amazing this is. I wish I lived in an episode of yacht rock.

  • I love Yacht Rock.

  • Is the murderer Patti LaBelle?

  • Sweet Jesus, that's smooth! Good work jdryznar!

  • I love the Faltermeyer connection.

  • Episode 12 makes me wanna go make MansizeLove!

    ;-)

  • Episode 12 makes me wanna go make MansizeLove!

    ;-)

  • The combination of genuine surprise and authentic joy that Michael McDonald experiences when he first sees Christopher Cross (version 2.0) renews my faith in humanity. I love this series.

  • Okay I must say... Low rate... but damm funny as hell..

    Two thumbs up!

  • Classic episode the best since number 6.

  • SO glad I revisited this series! I had no idea there was a new one this year!!!

  • At 5:09, I feel like those two piano chords are a reference, but I'm not catching it at all. Can anyone help?

  • @mothwentbad Takin it to the STREETS

  • @jdryznar Brilliant!

  • @jdryznar So did Ted Templeman kill Koko??

  • @shahruzm It might've been Sarah. I think she was the only one there who wasn't busy fighting at the time.

  • @mothwentbad take a close look at Episode 8

  • Who's Tug Waters?

  • Please make another one... some day? Please.

  • excellent!

  • if that epidode was a rug, it really tied the room together!

  • Comment removed

  • "Whut should i do, Jimeh? I'm des'prite!" hahaha

  • Yesss.......that was pretty fuckin' SMOOTH!!!

  • I want a "Use the smooth, Kenny." tee shirt.

  • @doctorr2 - Fuck you, Koko, I'm a ROCKER!

  • its definatley george michael! XX

  • Amazing special effects -- especially when Balboa ESSSPLODES!!!!

  • 3:46 - 4:49 is completely brilliant; "Hollywood's laugh you right us out of Hollywood."

  • Nails. This slayed me.

  • 3:16.... Kenny Loggins is like "pick me! pick me!".... lol I love it!

  • Steve Perry's recurring gag where he runs out of rooms is hilarious. He does it again after he sings his part in "USA for Africa" at 2:46.

  • 1) That dude in the back at WATW really looks a lot like Paul Simon.

    2) Your line read on "What should I do, Jimm-eh?" is brilliant, JD

    3) Who's playing Giorgio? Dude looks familiar.

  • @roebuckmckinney Paul Simon and Giorgio are John Spiker and John Konesky, both of Trainwreck and sometimes Tenacious D

  • @jdryznar I've seen Trainwreck live a couple times. That explains things perfectly.

  • I still need to know who the effeminate guy with tan is supposed to be...

  • @doctorr2 Watch Yacht Rock 2, 3, 8, 10 and 11. He's in all of those.

  • @jdryznar Hi JD. I love your shit! I'm not talking about Gene Balboa. I'm talking about the guy in the "We are the World" production. He's in the background mostly, but we can see him giggling when McDonald gets kicked out of the studio by Jackson and when Giorgio first appears on set... the only person I can guess he is is George Micheal, but George Michael wasn't par of USA for Africa...

  • @doctorr2 Well, all the We are the World performers are up for interpretation, but for better or worse, It's Dionne Warwick, ya goof!

  • @jdryznar Dionne Warwick! Bwahaha! Ok. Whose the guy with the big mustache and the shiny looking jacket who is only on camera for a second at 2:03 -- when everyone is laughing at Mike? Father Guido Sarducci?

  • @doctorr2 I am going to say that is Lionel Ritchie!

  • @hmoral I bet you're right!

  • @doctorr2 @hmoral If you really want it to be Lionel Ritchie, it can be.

  • @jdryznar I thought the dude from "Return to Supermans" was Lionel Richie, he's wearing a sweater

  • @GrandFunker willie roberts?

  • @fobmachine21 Smokey Robinson in Yacht Rock 12, and Supermens/Clark Kentar in Return to Supermans.

  • @GrandFunker Willie Roberts is Smokey

  • @jdryznar I'm so observant, that I didn't even know Willie's name, even though I've seen his Supermans series almost as many times as Yacht Rock! I didn't realize Smokey had a stache back then.

  • those were some amazing touches on the we are the world scene.. lionel ritchie, paul simon, huey lewis, tina turner, all spot on

  • I love the Huey Lewis and Steve Perry impressions.

  • No!!! Not Hollywood Steve!!!

    Was that Fancy Ray?

  • "What do I do, Jimmy? I'm *desperate!"*

"You're desperate? YOU BETTA CHARM THAT SNAKE!"

  • @tmack85ive "Charm that snake? What the fuck does that mean?"

  • @sdh483 in honor if YR12, I started using that term for taking a shit.

  • Comment removed

  • uh uh whyd they give mchael mcdonald those thight ass pants!

  • I want this fucking serie in a fucking relevant deluxe dvd!!

  • @zondasights I'd rather see a 3d movie experience, only in theaters! fuck balls that would be relevant.

  • This is too perfect

  • "I'm real sore-ry aboot it... I thought it was going to be awesome, but I turned out to be the only actor there, so they put me in the back..."

    "Shut the fuck up."

  • what is the song from 7:00 to 7:10?

  • @mrgone78 "Playing with the Boys." It was the song in the Top Gun movie when during the gay volleyball game.

  • @doctorr2 oh yes I know that one, I mean the song after that, over which john oates says "set death laser coordinates to..."

  • @mrgone78 Method of Modern Love - Hall & Oates

  • @LyndonJohnson1968 thanks!!

  • space god of smooth music... and seafaring!

  • Who is the flitty tan guy supposed to be? George Michaels?

  • I can't stop watching this.

  • LOL at Loggins' facial expression at 6:57!

  • Al Jareau skankin' cold! XD

  • @Trekkie155 Scat King Cole!

  • "Shove it up your butt, Mork, we're busy!!"

  • Yacht Rock changed my life about three years ago, I'm glad they finally made episode 12. I want to see Koko's murder avenged! Yaaaaa!

  • RELEVANT POP SONGS: fools, fooly, fooly fo...

  • @RockofAgez lol just noticed that

  • As good as ever, as awesome as always!

  • RIP Hollywood Steve. You'll always be the face of Yacht Rock, bitch.

  • So glad to see a new Yacht Rock, surprised the hell out of me. Yacht rock 13 had better begin with the ghost of Hollywood Steve.

  • Hopefully that means that there is a set up for yacht rock 13.....

  • lol dan aykroyd spelled his name wrong on the pass

  • JD, you make me want to be a better man.

    From,

One of the two random black dudes who got a picture with you at the airport in Minneapolis, Memorial Day 2009.d

  • Sweet freedom, simply the best episode of anything ever!

MAKE A FILM! Tell us what we can do to help.

    I fucking love you guys.
