In my country, Cuba, sugar mills generate a huge amount of biomass that is release into the rivers creating an environmental problem. Do you think that biomass can be use to generate power instead?

Absolutely! Any food and most green wast streams can be digested and generate biofuel and any residual (about 10-15% of whjat goes in to the digester) is used as a fertilizer for agriculture!

Cheaper than bio deisel from algae and easier to produce. reducing or USING bio gas from waste reduces greenhouse gases and creates free energy, thus giving a 200% advantage over less cost effective methods like the bio deisel from algae for $80.00 per barrel. Obama and the oil companies work on the later to boost oil prices.

@greenboy215 theres another video on here that a guy does exactly that, he feeds the biogas he collects in plastic tubes along the ground into a diesel truck engine that runs most of the shit he needs to keep his farm going

the whole point of this is to produce either electricity + warmth or bio gas. You produce way more energy than you use...otherwise it wouldn't make sense :)

You are so right. Politicians and the public are still uneducated to this sort of tech. They are stuck on the old ethanol (which is ineffective/inefficient), wind and solar. This tech is light years beyond!

Actually, politicians know about alternative energy, they're just bought off by oil barons who want to press the economy under their black thumbs to keep their wealth and power. Any threat by alternative energy would be dealt with. Look how much they paid David Vitter, a senator from Louisiana to punish people implementing solar panels with taxes.

Yes some water is added in order to allow mixing in the tanks. The acidic water is fed to the methanogenic tank which produces the methane. About 90% of the waste going in is converted to energy, so only 10% residual remains, which can be used as a soil amendment (fertilizer)!

Hi, I have worked on a biogas developmenent project team, biogas is basically natural gas with more CO2 and less methane. It can be used in engines that run on methane. (We used a MWM TGC 2020 engine). Alternativly it can be used to run microturbines, but even the small turbines are very fuel hungry, you need a lot of biogas.

You obviously have overlooked our patented process, which is highly advanced over older, traditional anaerobic digestion. APS can convert 125 tons per day of food waste into 2,550 therms per day (biomethane production).

Anaerobic digestion has no fed/state tax subsidies. Without tax subsidies, ethanol, wind and solar energy would be non-existent! Anaerobic digestion stands on it's own and is a triple threat... uses waste to create energy and the bi-product can be used as a soil amendment.

P.S.waste to energy is old school. Show me one big enough to produce 1000Mw for 0.15 per Kw and I'll tear down my coal plant.

P.P.S.You should use glycerian as a substrate in your process it'll increase methane @60% and it's a glut on the market now......(waste product from Bio-diesel production)

Production costs work out to a per Kwh of $0.12. But a lot is lost in the cogeneration process, so we prefer to keep the energy in the much higher efficient forms of bio-methane or bio-hydrogen.

It is a VERY efficient process and much more effective than bio-ethanol! Our bio-fuel fuel has a 70-80% grade to natural gas. APS and Pyrolisys could virtually eliminate landfills!
