Why can't music today be like this today. That shove CRAP like Bieber and Gaga and RAP down our throats today. No one would listen to this beauitful stuff stuff today because it is not trendy. They just say it would suck. Thisa old stuff is AMAZing. Thanks for sharing.
THE GIRL SILHOUETTED WITH THE MOON AND @ 2:50 THE IMAGE OF THE GIRL IN GREEN IS VERY CLASSY.
I AM IN MY 60'S NOW AND ON MY THIRD MARRIAGE THAT IS LASTING PAST 20 YEARS NOW, SO THE TEARS FALL WHENEVER I HEAR IT AND THINK OF MY SAD MOMENTS IN TIME. THANKS FOR MAKING THIS WORK OF ART. EVER THINE JACK
My tears fell down when listening to this song! Though it was not the 1st time I listened to it, but it really touched my heart at that moment since my situation waa quite the same that day :'(
The lament of the broken heart is an old theme in music, but rarely has it been done better than this. Petula Clark has a huge talent and a huge heart. This is a devastating song. If not her best, I think her most emotional.
Petula Clark is my all time favorite pop/rock female singer. I love this song. Your upload with the pictures is absolutely fantastic. Thank You very much!
my boyfriend broke up with me and this was playing on the radio.. it was January and really hot, I cried, but told him i was sweating!! he drove away, and two days later we made up. This is the first time I have listened to this song since...
beautiful images, beautiful song, this is a very popular song in Asia back in the late '60? or early '70, however, this is the first time I heard from this singer, is she the original?
I spent 12 years in the U.S. Navy and was all over the world in various situations. It seemed like I was always saying good-bye to someone. I never got used to it even though I did it a thousand times or so. I'm retired now and people ask me if I'd do it all over again. I'm not sure I'd have the strength, but I'd sure like to try. There's probably a few people out there I haven't had coffee with yet. This song brings back memories. Steve. badgersden5606@aol.com
I never cared for her one way or another. Until she sang this. It's a beautiful song and she sang it well. Too bad she didn't sing it first, before Downtown!
A very timeless voice. It's a shame that some of her later singles did not chart well-2 that did not chart well that I really like are this one and "Cat in the Window," a really great song.
She truly is one of the best female vocalist ever! Her range of scale is so varied, and she does it so effortlessly. A great singer, you used to have talent back then to get on the records/raidio. Not like it is nowadays.
I have seen Petula at over 70 years old and she is fabulous! She spoke to me and I love her. This song is avalable on Karoake disc, but is very, very hard to try to sing.
I agree w/ all the other good comments... Thanks for posting this. Reminds me of a simpler life when the biggest event was going downtown to the stores with my mother in late 60's.
Every time I see this wonderful piece there is a different powerful message always a moving one.... You opened the door to so many hidden memories....

Thank you, Somewheremaybe, this is a lovely video accompaniment for a wonderful, and wonderfully sad, song. If someone cares enough to say, "...for the last time pretend you're mine..." - and mean it - that person will always be your heart. This I know to be true from 35 years of wondering, 'what if?'
This song is definitely not underrated in Asia. I remember this song from way back then. It was played over and over for a long time. It happened to be my most favorite Petula Clark song too.
I am sixty eight years old and i need two hankies when i listen to this song of lost love, i can barely see the screen right now. All the best to you and your loved ones. Dwight.
The first time I heard this song when I was 10, 40 years ago. I didn't know English at that time but I liked this song very much. It caused me to learn English.
Oh man....those images are incredible. They are so unique and so fitting of the song. I hope you are doing this professionally....the images are so cool and well chosen.....good luck and I hope all enjoy it as much as I did.
Just one of those songs that when I heard it when it first came out stirred a longing in me that I did not, and could not understand as I was a kid of 9. I was out of the USA when this song hit. 1st time I heard it was on the short-lived
Golddiggers TV show in 71/72. Didn't know who did it originally until I heard the Pet
version on an oldies station. Got a copy and almost wore it out. The Oriental-style
lead-ins to the refrain are hauntingly beautiful. IMHO, a Perfect Song.
