They didn't show Congolese, Egyptians, Nigerians, Morroccans, Ivoirians, Kenyans, etc etc etc. Instead of complaining and not allowing people to see the diversity of BLACK and BROWN peoples, maybe you should look specifically for videos about Berber people. When looking into the eyes of the people in the video, I sensed a feeling of deep awe and strong emotions, feeling "connected", closer to where I truly came from. I was born in England my parents are from Jamaica, I watch this presentation whenever I get a chance I visit Africa often have an extremely basic grasp of two African languages. I hope one day I can cleans my blood line, by marrying an African beauty such as one of these. I tell people this all the time, I cannot control the meaning behind an image or a phrase. People will always interpret things different from other people. People will always interpret things based on their own intellectual and moral inclinations. What you find unnecessary or patronizing the other person may not. That was not my intention but as I said before people will always see things different from others.
It was just an attempt to counter the typical images that people have of Africans; whether it was necessary or not, even black people do have certain (inaccurate and negative) ideas on Africa.
As I wrote: The video spoke for itself. Images are a powerful medium of communication, so you don't need to convey your message in such a crude manner. Your videos will be more effective if you learn to broadcast your message without people realizing that you are lecturing them (especially if they are prejudiced). Learn to communicate with the subconscious mind, and you will master the true power of the media...

beautiful does not half explain how this vid is.... its perfect. I'm a Malawian living in the US and I still get tired of people asking me stupid questions, like "how did you get here coz there are no planes in Africa?' or even so how many pet lions did you have?? Its so freaking frustrating. I come from a land of beauty, green, rich in heritage and culture. YES! poverty is there, as in every other nation on this earth.......

So I have to pick one African country to visit. I plan on taking that blood test that will tell me which kingdom my ancestor came from.

I was born in England my parents are from Jamaica, I watch this presentation whenever I get a chance I visit Africa often have an extremely basic grasp of two African languages. I hope one day I can cleans my blood line, by marrying an African beauty such as one of these. I think Africans in the diaspora should learn to speak at least one African language it gets you far trust me.

I love this video, very nice. Please, i am very disturbed by some of these comments. What do you mean that the Somalis in this video are not real ethnic Somalis, then what are they really. Even if they are from the Southern region, they are still Somali. How do you think those pple would feel hearing that. The important thing to note is that Africa is BLACK and the diversity of that color makes Africa so unique and naturally beautiful.

Thanks Blackhaze for this. It is truly beautiful. For the comments below,what do you mean that the Somali people in the video are not ethnic Somalis, then what are they. I do not like words like congoids, bantu, aethieopids (or whatever the spelling is) because they cause factions within Africa. The important thing is that Africans are black and it is the diversity within the Black that makes us a unique and precious people. I am Nigerian by the way, love AFRICA.

The fact is that history shows they didn't automatically hate us. The early history of this country shows the same. IF they did, why was it neccessary to pass laws forbidding interracial marriages? It is greed and fear which created racism, not hatred of our color. Everything they did/said about us, they did/said about the Irish first.

I tell people this all the time, I cannot control the meaning behind an image or a phrase. People will always interpret things different from other people. People will always interpret things based on their own intellectual and moral inclinations. What you find unnecessary or patronizing the other person may not. That was not my intention but as I said before people will always see things different from others.

Your videos will be more effective if you learn to broadcast your message without people realizing that you are lecturing them (especially if they are prejudiced).
