  • I can't believe BB King is still alive. African American, 200 pounds overweight, diabetic and 86 years old. This cat is unbelievable

  • Gladys Knight, Etta James, Billy Ocean (ok not as epic), Stevie Ray (even BB King raved about him), BB King - you can't get more blues than that...

  • Billy Ocean?

  • great Wilson Pickett tune

  • Hey B. B. King, I love you. Hey Etta, I love you. <3

  • @grooowlyae RIP Etta.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan , Guitarist / Singer Born: 3 October 1954 Birthplace: ... In September of 1986 Vaughan entered the Marietta clinic under the supervision of Dr. Victor Bloom...

Amazing musicians...Blues Is Listening Beyond What You Hear. July

  • All the best of the best

  • Your comment sbout SRV looking for BB's permission to take a solo reminds me of a story about SRV and George Thorogood playing at a Chuck Berry tribute. George had his guitar turned up and Stevie has his down low. Story has it George leaned over and said, to Stevie "Turn it up, man. They aren't going to be able to hear you. SRV said "Ain't our night, Man.'

Stevie was a humble gentleman. He could play circles around most people, but has enough class to show be low key.

  • @Asilazi I think Stevie was referring to that scene in ON THE WATERFRONT.In other words he was told to hold back.

  • Great Video..Many Thanks for posting & the addl info on where to find the rest..keep jammin brother!

  • the 300th time around and its still good :)

  • RIP Etta

  • Actually you got it wrong....I was responding to what someone Else said but because the reply did not go directly under their comment...this is the crap I get. I don't give a F*ck if you are Blue or Green...music is universal...for all colors and don't jump the gun, you may get shot. Have a nice day. : )

  • What's with the guy play the Dizzy Gillespi style horn? Bet he'd never touch his trumpet again if Diz had listened to him play. Also, listen to how sloppy the trumpet section sounds when they play in unison. This video is a good example of the pseudo-music that's helped sink music as an American art form to be enjoyed. IF YOU CAN PLAY, PLAY. IF YOUR GLORY as a musician is due to politics or Mafia; DON"T SING, DON'T EVER PLAY A NOTE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO HELP OUR GREAT COUNTRY FALL.

  • what fantastic world!!!

  • I DON¨T like this..I LOOOVE this,amazing mate thanks

  • R.I.P. Etta James

  • RIP Etta James

  • RIP Etta :(

  • rip Etta

  • YOU ARE ONE OF A GOD'S GIFTED LOVE AND I WILL MISS YOU ETTA JAMES

  • Rest in peace, Etta.

  • RIP Etta!

  • As I recall Miss Gladys sang Please Send Me Someone to love during this show. None better.

  • That was some rude shit for them to bring the great legends Gladys Knight, Etta James only to not give them a chance to sing.

  • @kittygalore69 They are singing the next song in this concert.....and many others.

  • @ivarus75 okay, thnx for the info. But don't you think it would make more sense that the title should reflect the discrete piece (of the larger video) instead of the whole video? Thanks for posting, anyway! and any fan of the greats is cool in my book. :)

  • @ivarus75 ...thank you for this amazing video . It lead to find that the whole concert is on here as well. So now no one will think those fine ladies were snubbed.

Search "BB King a Blues Session" folks.

  • @Lennon4life1968 Thanks for this refreshing comment!

  • @ivarus75 Yes those also need put up

  • @kittygalore69 that's exactly what I thought too, darlin'...what a shame

  • Comment removed

  • @kittygalore69 I wondered why they didn't sing as well, I was looking forward to it. The horn section train wrecked it too! SRV looked over at them as if saying, what is the deal with that? lol

  • @kittygalore69 check out more video, they all got to sing. THis is just one song.

  • wow,3 R and B lengends on one stage.would have loved to have seen that show!!!!!! RIP SRV and Miss Etta James

  • Rest in Peace Etta James

  • WOW great video - thanks for sharing! I was very privileged to see SRV live in concert 3 times and also BB King 3 times, but never together.

  • already, the "trollatariate" class, are out talking shit about etta. " i never heard of her" well, get your asshole out of fox news, and mother fucking death metal, and then, just maybe, you'll know who the hell she was, imbeciles!!

  • Billy Ocean totally bogarts the mic here. give Etta some! RIP

  • Adieu.

  • Soul isn't about the color of your skin -- it's all about heart. And there's a lot of heart on that stage! Great video!

  • R I P... ETTA. JAMES. .... Loved your music your in GOD's hands now sing for the KING !!!!

  • RIP Ms. James!

  • RIP Ms. Etta

  • Rest in peace girl :(

  • R.I.P...ETTA JAMES..GOD BLESS YOU AND HOLD YOU SAFE IN HEAVEN...

  • color?

  • Man, that hobo guy sure can play guitar

  • fantastic!!!! all the great artists together;) couldn't find a better party here!!!!

  • no obviously and SRV was well known for never touching drugs or alcohol , i saw him when he has looked better

  • I once saw a television interview with BB King where he told the reporter that he was simply incapable of doing things on the guitar like Stevie Ray Vaughn.

  • @bahamabrz BB King is very humble like that. It's true of course.....I think we all know he's not capable of playing guitar like SRV. Why would he want to anyway? He's BB King! Next to that, SRV wasn't capable of playing like BB King either.

  • @ivarus75 at 2:12 i think he showed he can play like BB. BB revolutionized guitar and no one is denying that. its stupid to say one played better than the other cause its all opinion and theyre both just beautiful guitar players. but its stupid to even think bb could physically do anything SRV could on guitar. no one can physically do what SRV did. especially when thinking of gauge strings and his attack on guitar. no one matches that

  • @greatwhitebuffalo23 That one note? LOL! Even I can do that. BB King is unique.

  • @greatwhitebuffalo23 Joe Bonamassa....

  • @greatwhitebuffalo23 : it's instantly-identifiable 3 note BB King lick. It jumped out at me the first time I listened to this clip.

  • @bahamabrz Does that come as a shock?

  • The biggest man in that kind of music

  • holly shit. too much talent at the same time i can't handle it.

  • its a shame to see SRV (god on guitar) looking so out of it ,he is clearly the best musician on this stage , and hes hiding in the wings, shame.

  • @tiny789 You are obviously not a musician,if you were you would understand that firstly all on stage are greats,it's not a competition and that Stevie is not ''out of it ,or hiding'' he is showing the proper respect and manners with his musical brothers and sisters.

  • @nicco47 Exactly!!!!

  • @tiny789 You haven't been around music too long have you?

  • IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR!

  • @QatonChozeh why then are you watching blues videos if you think the music is an exaltation of animalistic instincts?

  • i wanna murder Adam queerbait Lambert

  • @brucekirk89 u can say that again bro

  • we all got soul

  • In the Beginning, God created the Blues. And it was good.

  • SRV IS AWESOOOOME

  • best style of drumming and guitar playing

  • how much soul can be fit in one room! at 3:30, b.b says something to etta, she eyes him down, and then gives a "hell no thank you very much" look. old black people are so funny and soulful, even just casually

  • @magicpen6666 nah, they just dancin'

  • B.B. is a great singer, can play that guitar a bit too.

  • Great music, no matter what color the singers are!!!

  • DAMN..check BILLY OCEAN take control and pull it on out!!!!!!!

  • People are thinking FAR TOO HARD over this performance. Its about the music not Race. Enjoy the sound and the many talents in one place at the same time!

  • SRV would just shake his head in disappointment if he read the racist crap appearing as comments to his video.

    What a shame.

  • Not agree. I think Beyonce's performance better .. Etta amazing but I'm more like the Beyonce

  • @sho123am Duh ?

  • @nicco47

I was confused video Lol, I wrote it on "I'd rather go blind"

  • Stevie had great respect for B.B. King !!!

  • Büyüksün Üstad...

  • Same old, tired solo Stevie...

  • @guitgeo SRV was showing respect to the other artists on stage by not trying to steal the show with a fancy solo.It was a jam,not a SRV concert.

  • @Gooneygoogoo79 This troll is just going around dissing SRV videos. He needs to be strangled with a high E string as he listens to Justin Beiber on a continuous loop. lol

  • i hung out with Stevie a few times in the OAK CLIFF area of dallas, alot of time was spent under the Trinity river bridge under I-35. chillin with the wino's. alot of guitar playing and learning the blues. RIP my brother.

  • This is so fucking awesome...and hey...I'm white! RIP SRV and others that have passed : (

  • @HerMajesty5 NO??? You're white and you actually LIKE this kind of music ????..........Jesus, just shut up. What a shame.

  • @SweetHoneyMack .....Your message doesn't make sense to me.

  • @HerMajesty5 Well, I'm not surprised. But let me explain. What your comment meant (to me and others I'm sure) is that blues is a style of music that only "black people" can enjoy. It's demeaning and unnecessary. Who the f*** cares about the color of your skin?

  • @SweetHoneyMack ....my response was in reply to someone saying something along the lines of "White people don't like this music"...just wanting to clarify.

  • @HerMajesty5 (How could I have possibly known that, your comment is not even a reply...) Alright then, great.

  • this is great.thank you for posting

  • @dhutchinson86 He just might have been in rehab when this concert was done, but if you think he's sober in this video, then I guess you've never seen him clean.

  • ohh! the times when b.b could stand!

  • Leuk dat Stevie het hele nummer speelt en dat BB de credits opstrijkt.

  • being only 31. boy did i get screwed out of seeing live the best music ever made

  • On n'en fait plus des comme eux.

  • Blues guitar for me would be BB King-Hubert Sumlin-GateMouth Brown-Cootie stark and kenny wayne shepherd. Rock n Roll guitar its Edward Van halen and Jimi hendrix hands down.

  • Eargasm <3

  • that was soooo cool ;)'

  • I love B.B. and Stevie, but it's hard to watch this video with Stevie that coked up. RIP SRV

  • @badkarmabaroo He was actually in rehab at the time. Haha.

  • You forgot to mention Dizzy Gillespie! D: and his sweet trumpet ;)

  • i was waiting for Whitney Houston to come on stage lol

  • I love BB. He works the audience. Stevie Ray works the guitar. They are both masters at their trade. The guitar is not BB;s. The world of guitar belongs to Stevie Ray. The stage is Mr Kings,

  • how in the heck do you think these 2 guitarists are the best solo, every has a opinion, even a terrible one......

  • i got to see bb king in person, when i was in chicago, about 20 years ago and he was great then

  • This is so great - my feet danced to this song and Proud Mary, so often in the 60's and 70's! It brings back wonderful memories of a simple time, when music was real TALENT and the GaGa Awfuls of the World weren't even born yet.

  • 1:45 very nice BB ;)

  • niiiiiiiiiiiiice

  • I had already heard Albert King and Hendrix so SRV wasn't quite as impressive to me as some. is Dan Akroyd on bass

  • my favorite and least favorite blues guitarists. ill give you a clue: bb king is a bad ass. heres another clue: srv sounds like a white guy trying to play blues

  • @jackjls i'm sure that buddy guy, albert king and bb king himself would strongly, strongly disagree with you (and probably more). so now, sit down and shit your uninformed trap. you too need a dick slapping my friend.

  • @sinprelic True.

  • @jackjls SRV's playing here is not his most inspiring but he could definetly out play BB.

  • I loved this.

  • SR King, not quite. It would be better if Eric Clapton was there.....

  • Paul Butterfield on harp !!!

  • Thumbs up if you recognized the Couldn't Stand the Weather riff at 2:06

  • @Liscome LOADS of Albert King in his solo.

  • SR KING

  • That's an awesome line-up.

  • are the 36 people whom dislike tone deaf? Doesn't get better than this.

  • Powerful.... amazing. Thanks a million for posting this.

  • whats that hat SRV wearin

  • nilly fuckin bogarted the singing..!

  • Billy Ocean can sing now!!! You cannot find many black people singin' like that group right there anymore. Most of them just want to do the hip hop or rap thing.

  • My main first inspiration that helped form my way of playing Jazz/Blues!

  • They all threw down after this show...no doubt they were pretty high already.

  • Not being racist, but this is one reason why black people are awesome!

  • @XxalightnerxX If complimenting a race of people is considered inappropriately racist, I don't want to live anymore

  • @XxalightnerxX if there was no slavery there' be no blues. still sound racist if you think about it

  • @XxalightnerxX Its not racist at all. They are good at so many things and don't give themselves credit.

  • @aceclarksatx Hell yeah, like mooching, leeching, complaining, and sports.

  • @XxalightnerxX i think you mean: that's why black AND white people are awsome!

  • @XxalightnerxX yes, you are, actually....

  • @XxalightnerxX When I listen to Stevie Ray I dont say "that's why white ppl are awesome" same when I listen to Phil Collins or Jim Morrison or Michael Stipe or Eric Clapton or Bruce Springsteen...Its music and they are musicians...Music doesn't know color or ethnicity...its MUSIC

  • @3azabb There is no black, there is no white, there is only BLUES!

  • @3azabb Thank you - my feeling exactly!

  • @3azabb Phil Collins is like the asshole of white people.

  • @3azabb Right on

  • Where was I? and How come you started the party without me?

  • Stevie was like Janis Joplin, in that they both played/sang EVERY SONG like it was the last song they would ever do.

  • @cheagan Absolutely TRUE.

  • @cheagan im a diehard SRV fan and you now what you're 100 % right, i never thought of that.

  • Hey its billy ocean too wow. Stevey looks kind of gay in the stupid hat though

  • Wait did he just introduce Etta James, Gladys Knight, AND Chaka Khan to the same stage?! Holy shit!

  • Thats what happens when you stack a stage with REAL musicians who are there to serve the song and not their egos. Too bad we really don't see that caliber of musician anymore, but I guess that is what make rare performances so special. If it were so common, we might take them for granted.

  • MAGIC

  • They are more than great!

  • Check out SRV looking for permission from the King to play a solo....the King bows his head...and there he goes! :) " this is a good musician"

  • What a line-up! Thanks for sharing. I like this version-it's done with original -individual style without drastic changes to the song-something the new artists today haven't quite figured out- i don't think. Thanks again for sharing this video.

  • A fucking brilliant version of an awesome song. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • i was feeling crappy till i watched this now i feel a lot better, thanks

  • @eaglebowwer That makes two of us, man! The power of good music.

  • @anadryantontine Good? This way better than good. It's freakin' awesome.

  • @SuperPrivate2011 Let's not get TOO carried away. Stevie looks awful silly in his paperboy hat, Etta and Chaka look like they just walked out of a hurricane and BB looks like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man got set on fire. :-x

  • @anadryantontine None of that matters. This is about the MUSIC!

  • goode times

  • AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUU!!!!

  • A classic!

  • Who is that great singer, can somebody tell me that? Can"t hear his name when he is introduced by BB King, what a voice!

    Inemine

  • @wouter2525 that is billy ocean

  • @wouter2525 Mr. Billy Ocean

  • BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan...would have given anything to seen that concert.

  • I would do anything to play on that stage with all of them. It is a PARTY on that stage.

  • i saw bb a week ago, he still has that mojo. he lets his band jam more though

  • Jesus, never noticed the BB King influence in SRV's playing...

  • uh, Billy Ocean?

  • Oh yea, I'm waitin till the midnight hour.....to the heavens I will go to hear you.

Do it again there etta!! OMG - GREAT

  • Oh yea, I'm waitin till the midnight hour.....to the heavens I will go to hear you.

  • cant believe there are 33 deaf people on this site.... petition your member of parliament

  • That's Paul Butterfield on harmonica, in what may be his last major public performance. Pretty hard to squeeze the harp into such a bold horn section, but he manages to find a space. He died a month later. As for the SRV gibberish: read "Caught in the Crossfire" and you'll see he was quite reverential toward BB and like any great musician, waited for his front-man to give him the cue. The rest of the time, he played the great rhythm role he learned from his brother Jimmy.
