$10,000, less if you do some of the work, a good machine shop, .030 over bore, forged 3.875" stroker crank, 5.85" forged rods, .030 forged pistons and the list goes on. you can see this entire setup on v8muscle.net under the blog tab. as long as you have the bore (.030 over) and the stroke (3.875") you have 396. The heads only dictate how well the cubes can breathe. Aftermarket heads should make quite a bit more power sitting on top of that many cubes. Maybe one day : )

@dummydoo93 sorry its a combo of stoker crank and bored over cylinders... even with the 383 you have to grind on the block to clear the stroker crank (although i heard a new company got around this by modding there kits counter weights) but you can get a straight bolt in 377 stroker kit which is so close to the 383 spec you can't go wrong

depends on the parts you use. All forged internals with a .030 bore and 3.875" stroke will get you 396. This one in particular was around $10,000 to build, but can be done cheaper for sure.
