  • The six dislikes are midi controller users...

  • DAMN MAN

Love the pioneer mixer and the Technics

How much was all of it????

And do you ever scratch on other records unlike a serato or Traktor rec?

  • @ks101794 I got a deal on the Pioneer 909 - that ran about $1000. The 1200's with the stylii that are in the video were about $1200. Serato ran $600. All tolled - $2800. I occasionally scratch with Super Seal - Skratchy Seal by DJ Qbert

  • @therealdjflux

Did you take Qberts scratch Academy

  • @therealdjflux

Did you take Qberts scratch Academy

and did you debate weather on buying traktor vs. serato?

  • @ks101794 I have not taken any formal DJing/Scratch classes. I learned everything I know by watching other DJs and the more advanced scratch techniques by watching videos. Traktor didn't exist when I bought Serato (2005).

  • that version of "it's going down" isn't the original, but still a pretty dope routine

  • its the "AAAHHH scratch you friggin morons!!!

  • what record are you scratching to get that sample

  • That is a control record for Serato Scratch Live. The sample I scratching with on this video is from Scratchaliciouz Two by Peabird. You can get it on Beatport. But I recommend getting Super Seal - Skratchy Seal by DJ Qbert. Thanks for the comment

  • i have these exact turntables

  • this is sick

  • Thanks. I have to do another recording of this mix as I've had about 2 more years of practice. I might be able to do better :) Thanks again

  • What record are you scratching?

  • It's just a Serato Scratch Live control record. There is actually no sounds on the record itself. The record controls digital sound files on software running on my laptop. Just Google 'scratch live' and you'll find it.

The sounds I'm scratching with are your typical 'ahhhh' and 'fresh' which can be found on almost any DJ scratch record like Qbert's Super Seal Skratchy Seal, Supra and Shortee's Bikini Wax, or Scratchliciouz Two by Peabird which you can get on Beatport

    Thanks for commenting

  • What record are you scratching?

  • Big Respect to you, it's awsome!

    Bless.

  • Thanks for the comment. I still need more work, but I appreciate the love :)

  • big ups from hawaii.

  • way to take it on the chin you do have pretty good scratching skills though maybe scratch a beat from the record that is playing you know

  • oh and btw, try practicing your crabs on slower slongs, and build your way up. its harder to hear them and distinguish them, it looked like you were trying to do them

  • nice man... keep practicing.

got repetitive but i know how it feels... harder to do tricks on camera, etc

    keep scratching man

  • Yes its harder to do things knowing you are being filmed. Thanks for the comment

  • dobre tyyy..sem nevedela ze mam tak dobry znamy heheh

  • well

  • niice! :D

  • what sample are you scratching?

  • The classic "Ahhh" Sample

  • its on Superseal. :9

  • hey nice cuts man!

    respect you!

  • That was about as weak as DJ AM! Both of you can't scratch on time with the beat, lmao

  • crap that effect does not go with whats playing rather annoying shoulda tried somthin slower that is one of the oldest scratch effects out and every vid i watched they all us the same thing "aahhh or fresh" come if you gonna make a vid be creative

  • Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'm putting these videos up for just that purpose - to see what I need to work on. Thanks again. Peace, Flux.

  • what turntables do you use? plz reply

  • I am using Technics SL1200MKII. They are the defacto standard DJ turntable and have been for over 25 years. In fact the turntables you see in the video are about 20 years old.

  • Some more practise and dmcs are waiting for u!:)

  • this is another great video u should keep making these vids ur camera has good quality

  • I got waht I was gonna ask. Can I get like a Behearing or wahtever mixer because they can like mix uh.. mp3 files, wav files or cd files, then can i hook them up to turntables, and like play.. maybe black? vinyls if there are such things (if there are can you tell me where to get them?) or like a linkin park vinyl to scratch along while the song's playing?

It kinda looks like you're doing that too since your other vinyl isn't moving, Please respond =)

  • could you tell me what you're suig and how much they were?

  • Here is what you see in the video:

    Technics SL1200MKII Turntables: $400 each

Matched Stanton Trackmaster II needles: $160

    Pioneer DJM909 Mixer: $900

    MacBook Pro 17" laptop: $2800

    Serato Scratch Live Software: $600

Wow, I never totaled up all my gear. That's a lot of money.

I use the Trackmaster needles for practice since I've had them forever. I use Shure M44-7 cartridges if I play out.

  • Thanks :)

    All I need is..2060$ worth of things D;

    Dang..

    I guess I'll wait.

but can you explain what like.. scratching is? is it just editing the music?

  • wat for venyl r u using

  • I use Scratch Live software from Serato/Rane running on my MacBook Pro to mix with digital music tracks. The vinyl you see in the video is a control record for the software. I used the software to loop the X-Ecutioners track and I'm scratching with a sample from Scratchaliciouz Two by Peabird which is available for download at Beatport.
