You know people, a loud bag isn't the end of the world. That's why they have plates. So you don't have to stick your grubby hands in the bag and hear it crumple around every time you want another chip. Not to mention it's more hygienic if your sharing the bag.

:) im glad you asked such questions because it leads to more questions in a never ending search for answers. The bags are composed of plant material that ONLY biodegrade at 130 degrees F* which is the average temperature in a waste facility. so it only degrades in landfills.
