I was in the Carver High School band(05/06) and FAMU came to the Montgomery BOTB both years, truly wonderful performances.
Always loved watching the colleges at the events, usually FAMU and ASU would participate. Definitely made me consider going to one of the two for college, but I hated being in the spotlight and I figure a college would force me to D: (I was the white boy in the band haha)
You should have went. FAMU does not do the gimmick spotlight stuff. (Token white boy, dancing fat girls,etc.) You would not have been the only with boy in FAMUs band. We have had plenty before you and more will come after you.
THE HELL YOU TALKIN' BOUT UNISON. Although not too many songs nowadays have that much musical substance to them anyway, FAMU's Dance Arrangements are far more musical than ANY F@#$ING Band. Lindsey B. Sargeant could make a masterpiece outta a recording of you sneezing. This was clearly not a traditional 100 halftime show so all of the "CRISPNESS, TOGERTHNESS, INTERESTING PATTERNS ETC" can stop. We do animation and picture drills, not just Step 2,s and Rank Filing, if you know what that means.
