Well first of all it has to do with the people voting too. Secondly, this WASN'T a performance in the finals. Had she reached them, she possibly could have stood a very good chance of winning. And last but certaily not least, she got a bunch of songs alongway that didn't do her much justice. For example, I doubt that even Axl Rose can match his original performance.
