the white wall of panels you guys built - what materials did you use and did you top light/back light/ or up light them to get the colors!! Great idea and look!
@FirstBossierStudents The panels were made from Duct-board (HVAC fiberglass insulation panels) covered in basic white fabric. We up light the panels with LED's all the way around the bottom in a tray, covered with a black wood front.
What software did you use? I tried doing the same thing today with DSLR Remote Pro, but a bug in the beta program wouldn't let me do any other interval than 30 seconds. So I used Apple's Automator program to press the "Release" button every 2 sec. and that seemed to work pretty well.
Actually, i used DSLR Remote Pro, but the Windows version. I was using my mac for normal stuff, so i set it up on my vista tablet to run the camera. I just tried the mac Beta, and the software wouldn't even connect with my camera. Would be sweet if they get the Beta to work though.
Very cool vid. Set looked great this morning! This was our 3rd week at Buckhead and I am anxiously awaiting the time when I can get involved in the tech/production team. Amazing job to everyone who works on making this happen.

so are the panels LCD panels or are they just fabric stretched over a frame? or is it painted foam-core? What is it?

Yes, the black panels are plasma's; the bottom ones are 42", the top are 50". The white panels are perforated metal panels backed with white fabric.

Wicked cool. Did you have to use special hardware to get your 40D to take a shot every 30 seconds?
bdubrecords 2 years ago
No, just a USB cable from my computer. I found some free software online that controls the camera.
