  • @sonosaryn

Ork hide shade is often too watery, even with a few coats of it. I mixed in some yellow and white into my DA green and got the general same effect

  • music is amazing

  • xD he has an Imperial Aquila on his "Ass Plate" ...

  • I need help choosing color schemes i was thinking of either making salamander color schemes or ultramarines color scheme for my space marines. Can someone help me choose which is better

  • @Ghostface526 well ultramarines are very easy but most people dont respect the Ultramarine as they are glory hounds so i suggest Salamanaders so if this tutorial is too hard there is a article on GW website

  • @Ghostface526 I would go with Salamanders, because they're less over done than the Ultramarines. On the other hand, there would be more help out there for Ultramaine painting tips, but I would go Salamders between the two.

  • Amazing video - I've a couple of unpainted 'Marines and wanted to give Salamanders a go. Quick question; do you think it's be acceptable to use a couple of coats of Thraka Green wash, rather than the 2:1 mix of D.A. Green and water?

  • All he needs now is a few more colors for the eyes...

  • I watered down my DA Green like it says. When I apply it to the model it goes on streaky and ends up darker in some places and lighter in others even when on a flat surface. What am I doing wrong?

  • @bcgl9mm: I don't know how he got that color exactly right, but a solution might be mixing paints. On games workshop they used orkhide shade and snot green in a 50/50 mix. They also used a dark undercoat versus a light one like the one here. Still gets a similar green.

  • @topgeordie13 Well I can get the color right I just cant get it to flow nicely onto the model like he does. I get build up of color and streaks.

  • When I saw you keep adding detail to the eyes, I said "Stop it, stop making me add more painting stress to my life!" Thanks for the video.

  • how do you paint your models like do u use regular space marines or the actual model for each chapter

  • You guys are so awesome at painting!

  • is there a quicker way to do this if you are painting an army

  • hey great job on the guys can i get u to paint my salamanders

    plz reply

  • thumbs up if you want people to stop asking for thumbs up

  • and thumbs up if u want him to do one on grey knights

  • @Rassoul44 ive been wanting him to do one of those for awhile lol

  • thumps up if u like stern guards

  • what colors do you need, can you please give me a list?

  • Your videos are amazing and very useful, could you do one for orks soon please, I find it very hard to paint my orks to the same standard as my SM, it was the other way around before I saw these tutorials :)

  • I had an idea for an SM color scheme, base purple and chaos black details, with bolt-gun metal for guns etc. What do you guys think?

  • Amazing dude, one quiestion. what mark amour is it?

  • @TheLysander26 I just had a quick look in the codex and it matches the Mk6 Corvus pattern armour

  • @Peelioka Beaky Armour ;)

  • thank you for this tuturial... i've been trying to figure out how to make my greens look good, they always come out too dark or way to light, this looks great...

Also, what music did you use for this video?? it's so tranquil, i loved it

  • LES YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! A BIG CIAO FROM GENOVA ITALY!!!!!

  • nice paint job! :)

  • intriguing... I'm gonna try this technique out soon. Tomarrow I must pick up some flat white spray paint, dark angels green, and some scorpion green.

  • The first dark angels green looks very light

Is this because of the dilution???

  • That's some truly effective paint job, great result.

You do seem to have a bit of a dust problem though. During the video you can clearly see your model getting more grainy, and this can't be attributed to your excellent painting skills.

  • what were the vallejo colors that you used?

  • hey i have a Q. do you take commissions? you are a master

  • is the first coluor snot green?

  • @lrpracer123 It's dark angels green diluted with water man... even says it in the tutorial...

  • is the snot green/scorpion green mix meant to come up darker then the diluted dark angels green? when i added its really noticeable and i dont want to continue until i get it right :-s.

  • what did you prime the model with, it looks grey-ish

  • ummmmm

are you drybryshing the green or is it just really light of a colour???

    please

  • pause vid on a black screen hold right arrow and press up arrow....

  • lol He's Wearing Sandles :3

  • I need to decide I am starting to collect war-hammer after Christmas and from my experience my friend has space marines and says I should collect them. I took his word for it but I dont know which colour to paint them. Either a red and black or Blue and white. Please decide for me

  • how do you get this bumpy dry survice on the model that you can see at 7:53

  • Wowza I is inspireded!

  • the salamanders (in the words of my friends) are BADASS, vulkan is THE space marine commander and to see calcar vs him would make even chuck norris duck for cover.

i wish i could do good painting though..my salamanders look like the green army men from the tan wars

  • What Brushes Do you use. Especially for the finer area's (e.g Eyes ).

Cause that is a sharp tip on that brush.

  • Very good paint job!! can i ask what are th song that you putt in this videos of painting Salamanders???

  • What type of brush do you use and where can i get one?

  • @40kfiend Probly just one from the hobby shop.

  • nice paint job, do you water down your paints before you apply them

  • holy crap!! ur so much better then i am:p lol i guess i could paint almost that good but i dont have the patienceXD

  • holy crap!! ur so much better then i am:p lol

  • is it undercoated white or somethingelse

  • @cortana27 It's undercoated with Skull White. he has said it atleas 6 times.

  • @cortana27 Yes it is (the base is a huge give away) , but I cant say what primer his using , couldnt find it on the forums either , looking back at other "tutorials" Im guessing its not primer but (pick your choice) grey paint just sprayed on the model as a basecoat , do correct me if Im wrong

  • These videos are so relaxing and fun to watch lol

  • next time u paint a salamander paint the eye shades green

  • where do you get the bumpy shoulderpads and legs?

  • @blablablacksheep909 its either a Serngaurd Veteran or the shoulder pads come in a few different boes i got like 3-4 from the battle force alone no legs like that though

  • @boredomdisease Could it be a veteran from forgeworld ?

  • did you undercoat or prime this?

  • Nice, I've been very interested in collecting a Salamnder army.

    Check my sight.

  • how do you exactly add water to your paints and know what's the right amount?

  • awesome but do yo can make a tutorial of how to make warhammer miniatures

  • dude you sould be proud you have inspired me to start salamanders

  • Realy nice job. :) It would be awesome if you made a How to paint Iron Hands video! :D

  • omg thats amazing ur an amazing painter and if u were a MW2 perk U would be steady aim :) haha still nice painting if you can, can u get a video on a salamanders land speeder

  • so all that dark shading comes when you do that wet thing ? never painted those so just curious ^^

  • what brushes do you use?

  • Thanks for uploading this video man, it's really helpfull. However, I have a question. How do you mix your paints effeciently? Mine always dry up really fast :(

  • @BoTTeNBR use a wet pallet. Get a moist paper towel and then put wax paper(baking paper) on top of that. Then put/mix your paints on that surface. The water seeps through slowly and keeps it moist.

  • @BoTTeNBR If i were you... I would paint really fast.

  • @BoTTeNBR the trick is to do a wet base, simple take any small plate or surface with a wall all the way around, a small dish is perfect, the tear out a hand towel, like the ones you use in the kitchen, to the size of the inner part of the plate * the lowest level* and then wet it, slightly, so you can still see the paterns on it, then put your paint on it, keeps it moist for a loooooong time, but you will have to put a lil more than usual becuase it seeps in a lil

  • @BoTTeNBR i think he makes a box-thing and puts a moist sheet in there before mixing

  • @BoTTeNBR Get a small shallow container thing and cover the bottom with a folded paper towel, dribble water onto the towel until it is nicely wet but not soaked, then cover it with greaseproof paper and prod the greaseproof paper with your fingers till you can feel the moisture of the towels and so it is flat against the towels, mixing your paints on here will stop them drying up as the moisture seeps through the layers of paper into the paint :-)

  • @BoTTeNBR Hello, I know i'm a little necromancer... but you should try a wet pallette. Basicly You just take some Napkins, food paper and a box. fill te box with water sunk napkins there and cover with food paper.:)

  • @Apok336

I'll try that, thank you ;)

  • what do you use for your undercoat

  • @09175403540 it is undercoated.

  • @09175403540 oh looking at your page, you're just a silly little troll. Say hi to all your troll buddies in BlockUser-Land!

  • @awesomepaintjob haha lol thats funny :)

  • @awesomepaintjob amazing mate...absolutely amazeing

  • @awesomepaintjob Awesome work. Keep the videos rolling!

  • @09175403540 dumbass it is undercoated skull white

  • @09175403540

dude it's undercoated with skull white?????????? Wtf ur a retard

  • I want to form an anti-sparkly vampires space marine chapter.

  • Like i said before on your videos, I'm making my own chapter. I've decided to use the ultramarine parts but have my own symbols, colors, and background for them. I also decided on a name: Nagatamarines. :D.

  • @666wrathofheaven666 This is not properly? I feel some sarcasm in the comment but, Lol.... ok dude.

  • @666wrathofheaven666 Lol, it's art man. And just a simple table top standard I copied from looking at pictures. If you want to get in to technical lighting etc look at the new tutorials. I was not trying for zenethal lighting or anything but a clean base color and highlighting edges. As these tutorials were made for beginners especially this one. But thanks for the 2 cents :)

  • @awesomepaintjob If that's TT standard then my painting is pre-school!

  • you got some skills there mann!

  • what is the blue thing that does fit the mini on the pot of paint what is it,??

  • @ikkiiiieee that would be blu tack (sticky tack?) it just holds the model on the paint pot

  • What music is playing?

  • Nice job! One pointer, though, before you paint maybe consider building the head, torso, and legs, and painting that. Then paint all the rest separate. I find it to be easier!

  • o_O that first color is all you need for a standard model lol....time to get dark green

  • can someone tell me basically every color you need to paint salamanders

  • can someone tell me basically every color you need to paint salamanders

  • Just for the heads up, when its got the ratio of how much paint or water you need in a mixture (2:1 Water/Paint) Is this being calculated in drops?

I just wish to know this, im kind of a rookie to the whole painting thing here.

  • thanks so much this is a brilliant vid.... what are you working on next?

  • thanks so much this is a brilliant vid.... what are you working on next?

  • thanks is a very good video^^

  • Wow. Watching this Salamander come together was like watching a Bob Ross painting come together.

I really gotta refine my painting style. Like, badly. I just do a primer coat, then dry brush, then detail.

  • I demand to know what music this is!

and that of part 2, both tracks are great.

  • What's the song

  • Where you get them I can't find.

  • is bad moon yellow now sunburst yellow

  • @ultramarine1234 No. Bad Moon is brighter. If GW does not make it anymore there's just another reason to switch to Vallejo lol. That's why I switched.

  • He is a SternGuard model.

  • Amazing! What brushes do you use mate?

  • @scuttlepussy Usually size 0 from different brands. Blick studio kolinsky 0, WN series 7 0, and Da Vinci 0. While all size 0 they are different hair length and diameter from brand to brand.

  • Thanks! I already did and Ultramarines tutorial lol. Check my channel :)

  • great vid 5/5 music choice is perfect to, nice and relaxing.

  • id prefer priming it with chaos black

  • I'm having a lot of trouble getting my base green to look right. It looks nothing like yours. Mine is splotchy and the wrong shade of green. How do you mix your water and flow aid together, what's the ratio? any tips for making that happen. I'm using the same amount of drops per paint and same exact paint as in the vid. Some help would be appreciated.

  • it looks good and everything but dont get me wrong i dont like the music i would prefer it if someone accturly talked

  • @MultiNightbringer

it was one of my first videos so this and a couple others don't have any talking.

  • will someone show me how to do a wash! whenever i wash my blood scholars, (custom chapter) its just dirty looking blobs, and crappy red smearing

  • oh sorry lol

  • Comment removed

  • lol get some declorinator from your local pet store

  • Where do I get the flow aid that you use to distill your water? I just tried using your techniques with normal water....It doesn't look as good as the video by a long shot.

  • @Ironbullet07 Google a local art store that sells Liquitex products.

  • Having a really hard time, choosing between Salamanders or Ultramarines :/

  • @ThaJohansson Salamanders. You'll get called a Noob, if you have Ultras, as everyone starts with them

  • @ThaJohansson salamanders, they're just cooler and thier hero is a bitch to take down with a 2+ armor save and a 3+ invul save

  • did you use green stuff for the little balls on the shoulder pags?

  • @MultiNightbringer Nope. The model is from the Sternguard Vet Box.

  • got to give you props for painting with everything attached, i started that way but as i progress in my painting i like to have even the hidden detail painted. i did it once with my mek that came with my lootas and i feel i will be painting my future orks and space marines in the same fashion i may not be an excellent painter but i will sure try to make it look that way lol

  • What paint are You using with water+black?

  • Good music...

    Nicley done video...

    Excellent painting job...

    ...5 stars... and subscribed...

Why nobody make so AWESOME painting vid of Tau Empire... Because I am too bad painter...

But still... THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!

    ...

    ...

    End of transmission...

    LOL...

  • where did you get the parts for the model with bumps?

  • they are part of some of the boxsets, or you might be able to get hold of some of the collectors stuff which is pre heresey

  • the video was good but the music was very of putting. that bomb sound made it very hard to think when watching the video.

  • you are a good painter 5/5 and i will sub you

  • just a quick question: is it a 1:1 mix of vgc dark green and gw dark angels green, or is it either or?

  • @toxotaiofsparta either or. It's the same color so mixing would do nothing. I can see it being confusing the way I had it shown in the video though lol.

  • thanks for the info man

  • when you thin your paints, is it with just distilled water or do you use a water/flow aid mix? I just made some of your soft body black wash and was wondering if i should use the flow aid to thin the paints also

  • @toxotaiofsparta That's exactly what I use. I keep an 8oz bottle with the 10:1 distilled water/flow aid mix for diluting paints.

  • what was the colour of wash?

  • @jmangonepro APJ Soft Body Black

  • why is stand the space marine on a can

  • More grip= easier to paint

  • This guy is a vet right?

  • can u make a vid on how to paint Aurora Marines??i cant find a guide on the ibternet

  • @Herpkid56 Aurora Chapter is on the list. But no ETA on when the tutorial will be done. Just keep checking back.

  • cool thxs man

  • real impressive stuff you got dude!

    just two questions:

what make of paint brush do you use?

do you think i can paint the black areas before applying the wash as it would be easier to fix any mistakes?

  • @ahhhh01 sure! This is just video of my process. If you think steps would better suit you go for it.

  • I love this, you are awesome! Kepp it up! More VIDS!

  • sweet can you show a vid of your entire army soon?

  • tremendous work dude !

the lack of sound, and speed painting combine to make this an oddly calming view.

  • Yaaaa like I didn't know that they sold actual blackwash. I thought u had to make it. Or do u?

  • The basecoat is like skull white or the VCG version right?

If so whats the ratio of water to paint?

Also do you do any more priming before that? xD

  • I prime white so whatever you can do to get it white is fine with me :)

  • fair enough mate fair enough

  • you should of put in some music... i would make it more attractive to people when they first watch it

  • I forgot to add music when I rendered and there is no songs I like on youtube audio swap thing. Just play your own music. :)

  • I might sound retarded here but how do u do the blackwash?

  • How do I DO them? apply? make? I don't know what you're asking.

  • can u make a hawk lords painting tutorial?

  • It's in the lineup but no ETA on when the video will be shot.
