Talk about timing. I just watched your video a few days ago. A day or so later I get a letter from the weight loss clinic with recommended supplements based on my bloodwork and this week's CVS ad has supplements 50% off. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. You are so inspirational.
I didn't had bariatric, nooooo I had a Clinical Depression when I was 31 :P that's the boy!! Well I'm good but it's alot of work and you're so right; my small dosage of Nortrytiline (good old powerful stuff only pb it gives weight gain and it's the only med I can tolerate!!!!!), vitamins, b2, 12 calcium Omega 3, Rogaine, work-out ;; Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!! I'm 38 and it's so much work!!!
You look amazing. I have 1 comment about the calcium, which was approved by my surgeon and it's Tropical Oasis Liquid Calcium Magnesium. It is a calcium citrate, orange flavor. You only need 1 Tablespoon a day which has 1200mg instead of having to take 3 capsule or chewables a day. You can get it at any gnc store. Just wanted to throw that in. To date (6 mos post op) I have lost 111 lbs myself. Your vids have helped me sooooo much and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. -Michelle_
Thanks for the info on Lexepro supplements..I too have heard that..It was funny at the end of your video,You said that you were getting ready to make breakfast for you and Joel..about then I assume Joel made that sound in the kitchen( 6:36)
Like his way of saying ok...time to end the video already...LOL
Does anybody have any ideas for a NON-grose iron supplement? I hear that liquid iron is nasty, and I should have started my iron allready, but can't commit to it, cuzz I'm so scared by comments made by others. Who has a tasty iron?????
Check Bariatric Advantage. I think they have a passion fruit flavored one or something like that. I haven't tried it, and I could be wrong about the brand, but I think that's what a friend of mine used to use. Fortunately, my iron levels are normal and I haven't had to take one.
Amelia did u ever watch this vid & see ur kitties in the back cutting up? I listened careful the whole vid & got really helpful info, but I could not keep my eyes away from the kitty kung fu! I dont twitter/tweet but I would sub to their YT channel in a heartbeat, have I lost it or what?
Hi, Thanks for all the info from you regarding supplements but please please could you go in dept a little on your rogaine I am SO SO interested in hearing about it as you are having some success.
Hi, Iv'e been watching your videos the last few days, I;ve now have seen all of them. you are a great inspiration and I am so happy that you have shared your jouney . I am freaking out because I just found out today that my surgery is on august 24th! thats only a week and a half from now. i'm scared and anxious at the same time. but after sitting here seeing your vlogs it gives me hope. thanks alot, and wish me luck.
I hit on one of your early videos by accident while watching videos about Eve-Online =P
I watched a few every couple weeks and then skipped to the end ... just wanted to give you props not for the choosing to change your weight\life part but for the amount of moxy and ambition you put into it ...
You are beautiful! (so, don't think I'm hatin) Watch pursebuzz's eyebrow anastasia videos. Line up a ruler straight up from side of your nose make some marks and fill in the empty spaces with a brow pencil. Easy peasy.
I use to over pluck, ever since I changed my technique, I get so many compliments.
amelia i can ask on twitter but i take optisource bariatric 4xs a day but i hate i am looking for 1 is the one you take have the same amount of vitamins we need?
Great advice. Love the journal idea. I think I am going to make one up too. It is so hard to remember everything. I always think, "did I take that today or was that yesterday?" Best to have a check-off system.
Its not as bad as one might think too, I just use it at meals and i don't count calories or whatever, just write what I had. The way i used to count everything down to the tiniest detail is what turned me off journaling. I needed it in the beginning but now i just need a check system
Thank you so much for doing this video. I never realized until lately how important vitamins were. My Mom (who is 66 yrs. old) started having memory loss, mobility issues, neuropathy in her feet and legs...after a million tests the doctor ran blood tests and found out she was B12 deficiant. She has been on supplements in large doses and all the side effects are gone and she is back to normal. Thanks again for this video! Congrats on your accomplishments! -Jennifer
I'm glad. I hope that you realize that any criticism given meant to belittle you does not take away from everything you have accomplished in this journey or how wonderful of a person you are.
I have weird ears, Amelia, I really could not hear what that last medicine is for.. it seems to be related to calcium but I'm not sure. Could you either tell me here or pm me? Thanks! Btw, you look very healthy and I'm happy that Rogaine has worked for you! I am going to give it a try starting this week. Thanks!
I so get ya on this!! we have been inherited a lot of added responsibility on our plates apart from normal everyday life and there are days when I forget I had surgery and easily fall off the ramp about vitamins and protein(which i've leaned the hard way, doesn't help with memory loss). But after recently suffering moderately from anemia, i've tuned in once again religiously, sometimes I feel I need a personal assistant to remember everything! LOL
Hi Amelia,
I take Effexor...what is the name of the supplement that you found in the grocery?
Love your blogs.

Stool softner I believe, it is because calcium gives most people constipation and a stool softner helps that

Iron does too! I have anemia and have to take it 3x a day and was warned by my doc that is may make it harder to poo, for lack of better words lol
