I've heard people say that sticky residues often form on the tape substrate of very old reel to reel tapes, and the residue can be removed by heating the tape up. I don't know how true this is, perhaps CassetteMaster knows more about this than I do, as I've never owned a reel to reel tape machine before.
Sticky tapes can be repaired for a short time if you heat them up. Luckily I don't have ANY sticky tapes because I only buy high quality tapes made by good brands like BASF, Agfa or Philips.
Miami Vice was a TV show in the mid 80's, I've never watched it, so I know nothing about it, but i'm sure someone will post a comment with more information about the show.
Nice finds! We have somthing like those over here, but I don't know when they'll start again. HOPEFULLY when I go to them I will get some more vintage audio (my town is quite modern, so vintage audio is hard to find here). The oldest tape I have is from 1961, and it is still recordable and sounds really good, better than some of my other tapes.
I'm sure vintage audio can be found in modern towns too. If people move to a new town they take their stuff with them.
I found a cassette deck from the GDR at a flea market. But the area where the GDR used to be is far away from that flea market, it was brought into our town by people who moved in our town.
The vikki vikki song. lol

I wonder how that BASF tape from the 50's sounds. It looks very good from the video.
