half of your history is wrong !!!! fist of all the war against germany want an usual one ! its was the first world was !! secondly the tsar didnt gave up his throne he was pressured to leave the throne ! and the people got angy because the king wanted the war to go on and russia be with french and Britain instid of germany !!!
plzzz if you dont know something correct then dont put it on !! :PPP
Russia went to war with Germany in 1914,not 1912 and the Czar didn't just one day decide to chuck it all because the people were unhappy with him.In the face of increasing domestic unrest and the unreliability of his own armed forces to keep him in power,he abdicated the throne and a provisional democratic government was established.
The provisional government was later overthrown by the Bolsheviks and civil war broke out.The Tsar and family were later executed by the Bolsheviks.
How do people become "staved?" Some of the Russian people started rebelling against the monarchy way before World War I ..... they started to rebel during the time of Nicolas I ..... There were assassination attempts on him and later on Alexander II.... which were successful. Alexander III almost lost his life when someone tried to bomb his train ... There were also attempts on the life of Nicolas II .. in Japan.
Her mother was not TSARITA ........... she was TSARITSA .... and if her life was luxury..... then why did she have to sleep on a hard bed and take cold showers?
@Karen41872 Well,Max Eastman, who translated Leon Trotsky's "History of the Russian Revolution" is wrong, but I think Max knows Russian better than you.The next time a Russian comes into the store where I work(there's a a number of Russian Pentecostals who live where I do) I'll ask one of them.
@Karen41872 Wikipedia mentions "Tsarina" and then redirects you to "Tsarista".Her official title transliterated into English is "Imperatrista".
As for your proficiency in Russian, when you can translate a work of 868 pages,no doubt filled with Russian colloquialisms, then I'll concede that your Russian is on par with Mr.Eastman's.
Do let me know when you can translate Pushkin's, "Gabrieliad".
@johndgray1 -- I am not in the translation business .... but I can translate with the best of them and I'm also cognizant of the various colloquialisms and regional linguistic anomalies .... I actually find many translators lacking ... especially those who translated "Anna Karenina" ...
@Karen41872 Actually she was the C-z-a-r-i-n-a or the T-s-a-r-i-n-a.The Bolsheviks killed all the of the Royal family.Their remains were found in the place that the Bolshevik accounts said they would be-all of them.None escaped.
@Karen41872 Well, the bodies of the Imperial family were found exactly where the accounts of the Bolsheviks said they were and there were no bodies missing.
@Karen41872 The one by the head of the assassination squad, who described how the bullets did not initially seem to affect the Czar's daughters. He described how after they were killed that the reason the bullets seemed to have no initial effect was because jewelry had been sewn into their clothing.
@johndgray1 -- This is where you're completely wrong because after the murders, the Bolsheviks did not want any of the bodies found .... they attempted to destroy them with various chemicals and also with fire ... there is no way anyone (most of all Yuritzky) would EVER write anything which would led anyone to the bodies.
If you're such a close follower of the fate of the Romanovs then you should know that the bodies of Nicholas,Alexandra and all but two of their children were found in 1979 and were DNA typed in 1998 by Russian,British and American labs. The remains of two other family members were discovered in 2007 and identified through DNA testing done by an American lab as being Prince Alexi and Princess Maria.
@Karen41872 No she didn't survive. All the remains of the Imperial family have been found and DNA tested. She's died with the rest of the family.Case closed.
@Karen41872 no the remains were found in the late 20th century unfortnatly she never survived although when the familys remains were first found there was one body missing that of either her or alexi and there was a theroy one of them survived but that was later proven wrong all of them died olga alexadivich surived she was the aunt the tsars sister
@Karen41872 No the remains of Anastasia were found and 1. Anna Anderson looks NOTHING like Anastasia she is a very cruel imposter. I have read and researched much about the family. Anna had mental problems. The only reason she ever "claimed" to be a Romanov was because someone kept telling her she looked just like Tatiana or maria so she just went along with that, then she started claiming she was Anastasia. Family came to visit her but she could not speak Russian at all
@klee887 -- Russian nobility and aristocracy did not communicate in RUSSIAN ........ they did so in FRENCH and GERMAN ...... Anderson was a dead ringer for Anastasia ...... Look at her features as a young girl and later as a young woman. Anna knew and remembered conversations and events ONLY Anastasia could. Her own GRANDMOTHER, the dowger Maria Fyodorovna, herself recognized Anna as Anastasia. Both recalled intimate conservations they had. I stand by my claim. Thanks for posting.
@Karen41872 yes they might have spoken in french or german but she was from Russia she had to have also known how to speak that language as well and when tested she did not know the language at all. I have never heard once that her grandmother claimed her as Anastasia. And how do u explain that they found her remains and that of Alexei in 2008 hun? is it just make believe?? Because they did find find her hun. Its nice to think that she escaped but we need to face reality. She died with her fam
@klee887 --- You need to study more of Russia's imperial history so you can understand why Russian was hardly ever spoken by the ruling classes. The remains of two of the Romanov offspring were never found. End of story.
@Karen41872 Why do u keep saying they were never found End of story? What proof do you have? Have you yourself personally gone down and studied the bodies to disprove the theory that they were found? Do you have any proof at all? You are so ridiculous. Of course they would have to know Russian they LIVED IN RUSSIA! all you are doing is making up stories now because u are soooo determined to believe she was alive. Tell me then why in the world would Anastasia be the only ONE to survive?
@Karen41872 where do you base your theory on? they found the bodies, they took dna and they proved the bodies where maria and aleksej, it was not even anastasias body that was missing, i also dont know how anna could know those details but what more evidence do you need then the dna
@Karen41872 Just please don't talk to me anymore you are sooo absolutely ridiculous and unless you can prove to me your theory that Anna Anderson is indeed the lost duchess and that the 2 children found are NOT that of Anastasia then please just don't talk to me anymore. I'm done with this conversation. ITs absolutely ridiculous.
@Karen41872 and by the looks of your conversation with johndgray1 you are totally avoiding the fact that they found her remains. You are a very stubborn person one of those people that are very gullible and easily believe people and "stories" instead of the actual truth. I am not trying to be rude sweet heart. Anna's own husband said he knew she wasn't really Anastasia.
@Angelbaby0xx It's a common mix-up. Nicholas II mother was named Marie. And she was rather involved with the family. Not an excuse for the horrendous spelling in this video.
@hakabu1 -- the Empress Maria Fyodorovna, wife of Alexander III and mother of Nicholas II, got out of the country via the Crimea .. with her jewels intact .... she headed for her homeland of Denmark where she lived out the rest of her days. She sold off her fabulous jewels and the profits from them helped sustain her until the end of her life.
i can't understand why the whole European nation faced the most dirtiest and colorful history of all time look at what happened in France,Russia,Germany,United Kingdom especially London, Scotland,Netherlands etc...all of them has a history of royal families and everything!!
The Russian IMPERIAL Family were "Romanov's" in name only. The Romanov dynasty died out with Catherine II ... those who followed her were mostly German and Danish rulers of Russia.
@lahij Anastasia was found with Alexei a few feet away from the rest of the family. They have all been accounted for, and all died by the Bolsheviks. Anna Vyrubovna after the murder of the Romanov's was sent in and out of prison until she finally just went to Finland and died there when she was 88.
Both Anistasia and her brother were found. Unknowingly the family was buried in a mine which had lime in it, which preserved the bones. With the technology today all bodies have been accounted for and identified as the entire Romanov family.
@missandcourt64 The link isn't working on here for some reason, but if you google Anastasia and Alexei found, it is the second article given...It's from msnbc...
@Karen41872 What a terrible excuse not to research this further. Google it. You will find that yes, all the bodies were found. Sorry to end your romanticized story.
@hakabu1 -- I don't use GOOGLE ... too much fake information on it. By the way, the remains of the female could have been those of Marie .... and not Anastasia.
@Karen41872 So then there you go! Anastasia was found! She was with the rest of the family, and MariA was with Alexei. If google is too overwhelming for you, open any number of books post 2008. I don't read books on this subject .I get the information from those who were involved in this situation. Many of the Russian nobility escaped and landed in San Francisco; they know what happened. Nothing "overwhelms" me! The late "Anna Anderson" was actually Anastasia and she died knowing full well who she was. Had she won her case, the Bank of England would have gone under.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, so please don't be offended ^^'
The girls weren't really born into a life of complete Pleasue, they had to take cold baths, and sleep on hard bads, because their father wanted them to grow up like he had.
@MikaAppleblossom I agree that their father had a very set way of raising his children, but there was still a very shocking disillusionment between the royals and the peasantry. They (the Romanovs) merely wanted to play 'pretend.' Alexander III instilled that way of life in Nicholas because he wanted his son to know how the peasants lived. Peasants never had the luxury of showers or beds. It was really sad.
@hakabu1 -- Showers and beds were not something peasants craves. They slept on the top part of their huge stoves... which were enormous with many levels. Hardly anyone actualy bathed in those days, no matter if they were peasants or nobility.
I am from Moscow and it is a not too widely talked about issue back home becuase peple dont like the mention of the Royal Family that much. Yes, many people claimed to be Romanovs and they were al;l executed for that. Also after the Romanov children were killed there was believed to be "Reported Sightings" Of anastasia.
where do i begin?????!!!!!!!! ok starting from the begining her life was not full of glitter and glam the family lived very modestly especialy for being so rich, its Tsarina not "tsarita"....., her second sister is "Tatiana" not "Tartina", Alexei's name is spelled like that, again its Tatiana, wtf ok its abdicated not addicated, and last it was Marie who was missing in the end and she and Alexei were both found. So please before you do a movie do at least a little research because this was crap
My mother said, "You wouldn't want to be a Royal...Royals were not allowed to idle their way away. They had to dust & clean, mop & sew. The Royal cousins were the servants. According to her, cousin to the late Queen Mother of England, "this rule had been established by King Henry that all Royal women were to wash, clean & dust until their fifteenth birthday. This will ensure the possibility of a marriage partner."
"On top of that, you must sale all gifts, small or large for food for the poor."
"glitter and glam"? Please, please, go read a history book. The family may have been royalty, but they lived very simply, believe it or not. The children slept on camp beds their entire lives.
You are so correct. They may have had the wealth (Tsar Nikolai was the richest man in Europe), but they never acted like most royals. The children were very much loved and cherished. It is so horrid what V.I. Ulyanov and his gang of sociopathic murderers did to them-I hope they are burning in Hell.
Want to hear a legend absurd? A Russian book allegedly dictated by the soul of Anastacia said in 1987 that she reincarnated in 1990. The same medium, this writer said in 2004 that Anastacia is alive among us again. According to the medium, Anastacia is Emma Watson, Hermione from Harry Potter!
I watched the documentry about them on the crime channel today. the dna evidence showed the woman who said she was anastasia actually wasnt. wierd stuff.
she died with her brother, a scratch couldve killed her brother because i forgot the scientific term but he had the disease where he gets injured easily and doesnt heal easily
There was this crazy women who claimed she was Anastasia and called herself ''Anna Anderson.'' She wasn't Anastasia. In 1975 she died, and Anastasias body was already there.
Prince Phillip was behind the phony D.N.A. findings that discredited Anna Anderson. Miss Anderson convinced half of the Tsar's extended European family that she was Grand Duchess Anastasia. How was this possible? From where did this "Polish peasant" acquire intimate knowledge of the Romanov court? If the truth were revealed, concerning Miss Anderson's claim, fortunes would change hands.
Poor Prince Philip seems to get blamed for everything! What makes you think he was behind the phoney DNA findings? I'd love to think you were right (well, not about HRH but about the DNA being phoney) - as I feel in my bones ('scuse pun) that Anastasia did survive!
You may well be right re Prince Philip - but for the wrong reasons. Read 'Hunt for the Czar' by Guy Richards. It's very compelling. Tells the 'truth' about the supposed killings. The murder was a HOAX. The Imperial family were actually smuggled out of Russia by an American agent. The most successful anti Communist spy of recent years, Michael Goleniewski , WAS the Czarevich Alexei! The later DNA 'evidence' was planted (literally!).
I have the book, somewhere, called: "The Conspirator Who Saved the Romanovs" which gives credit for their salvation to a Russian jeweler named Aaron Simanovitsch. What is generally known by scholars is that a search was made in the immediate environs, following the executions, for a young woman.
The Tsar didnt give up his throne, they were taken and put in a home in Siberia were late one night they woke the family up and made them go down into the cellar where they were shot. It was said that they had jewels sown into their clothes. When they did find the bodies, 2 of the children were missing, but several years later they were found...the 2 bodies had acid dumped on them and they were burned. That's why they couldn't be found, they only found fragments of the bodies.
The body of Anastasia was discovered a couple years ago just down the road from where her family was dumped. Her and her little brother I believe. DNA confirmed it. DNA was also done on the 'wanna be' who claimed she was her, but the results were negative. The mystery was closed now.
OH no, the mystery is far from being closed! Do you believe everything you read/hear? Bones and DNA / reports etc can be very easily 'produced' as so-called 'evidence'!
yea her and her brother were found miles away from her family but ana anderson who pretended to be her was false..but anastasia did survie but only for some hours
@inuyashaandkagome222 because leaders are shit head criminals and dont want you to know every thing .. we are all under controle by media and politicians.
yes, as bad as it is, i must say that i'm glad that they all died, simply because people started to come up and clam to be them. how dare they? these people lost there lives because of who they where, and then to go and have someone clam to be them just to get money. its disrepectful.so thank god its over and these people will get the repect that they diserve, even if it's in death.
yes.. but anastasia died with her family maria and alexei died last since it took the hours to die the built a fire place..and now all the family bones are together maria died by being hit in the head with the back of the gun alexei died after 3 extra bullets
Maybe your right. But when they looked at their remains, Anastasia's and Alexei's skeleton were different. So they must have survived and tricked the killers to pretend they are dead. Later there were reports from Bulgaria that someone must have took them to the hospital. And later, the "Bulgarian Anastasia" was found. She might have been the grand duchess. So she must have still been alive.
yes but in the end it turns out anastasia grew 1.6 cm taller than mashenka.. AND AT THE TIME THE DIDN'T KNOW!! sorry but grr if i say anymore my secrets are ruined so i'll just leave a little hint how know more
they alll ended up dieing... everyone who was in that bastment died.. maria was almost a surviver, :( her and alexei's bodies were in a different fire pit so it took them longer to find.
hopefully the tsar was a womanizer and had several children with other woman, so we have a romanov descendant around...lol

I would like to point something out.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, so please don't be offended ^^'
The girls weren't really born into a life of complete Pleasue, they had to take cold baths, and sleep on hard bads, because their father wanted them to grow up like he had.
MikaAppleblossom 1 year ago 16
@MikaAppleblossom I agree that their father had a very set way of raising his children, but there was still a very shocking disillusionment between the royals and the peasantry. They (the Romanovs) merely wanted to play 'pretend.' Alexander III instilled that way of life in Nicholas because he wanted his son to know how the peasants lived. Peasants never had the luxury of showers or beds. It was really sad.
hakabu1 8 months ago

"On top of that, you must sale all gifts, small or large for food for the poor."
iriswigle 1 year ago
"glitter and glam"? Please, please, go read a history book. The family may have been royalty, but they lived very simply, believe it or not. The children slept on camp beds their entire lives.
romanovreincarnates 1 year ago

He had hemophilia which is a blood disorder that prevents the blood from clotting , therefore a small cut or open wound wouldn't stop bleeding.

There was this crazy women who claimed she was Anastasia and called herself ''Anna Anderson.'' She wasn't Anastasia. In 1975 she died, and Anastasias body was already there.
annamallia99 2 years ago
Its tatiana not tartina
avafairy101 2 years ago
Prince Phillip was behind the phony D.N.A. findings that discredited Anna Anderson. Miss Anderson convinced half of the Tsar's extended European family that she was Grand Duchess Anastasia. How was this possible? From where did this "Polish peasant" acquire intimate knowledge of the Romanov court? If the truth were revealed, concerning Miss Anderson's claim, fortunes would change hands.

the need for having so many prisons.
SummerInJuly 2 years ago
Poor Prince Philip seems to get blamed for everything! What makes you think he was behind the phoney DNA findings? I'd love to think you were right (well, not about HRH but about the DNA being phoney) - as I feel in my bones ('scuse pun) that Anastasia did survive!
periperigord 2 years ago
Elitists lie as we've seen this past week with England's East Anglia U.'s phony temp./climate data.
SummerInJuly 2 years ago
You may well be right re Prince Philip - but for the wrong reasons. Read 'Hunt for the Czar' by Guy Richards. It's very compelling. Tells the 'truth' about the supposed killings. The murder was a HOAX. The Imperial family were actually smuggled out of Russia by an American agent. The most successful anti Communist spy of recent years, Michael Goleniewski , WAS the Czarevich Alexei! The later DNA 'evidence' was planted (literally!).
periperigord 2 years ago

That's why they couldn't be found, they only found fragments of the bodies.
gcsgirl09 2 years ago
@gcsgirl09 Nicholas did abdicate the throne. Shortly after that he was arrested and sent into Siberia. He abdicated on March 15, 1917

101SwimGal101 2 years ago
The body of Anastasia was discovered a couple years ago just down the road from where her family was dumped. Her and her little brother I believe. DNA confirmed it. DNA was also done on the 'wanna be' who claimed she was her, but the results were negative. The mystery was closed now.
firebirdhome 2 years ago 2
OH no, the mystery is far from being closed! Do you believe everything you read/hear? Bones and DNA / reports etc can be very easily 'produced' as so-called 'evidence'!

yes, as bad as it is, i must say that i'm glad that they all died, simply because people started to come up and clam to be them. how dare they? these people lost there lives because of who they where, and then to go and have someone clam to be them just to get money. its disrepectful.so thank god its over and these people will get the repect that they diserve, even if it's in death.

Rumors have been made that they both have survived and escaped to Bulgaria 0_0
longman718 3 years ago
yes.. but anastasia died with her family maria and alexei died last since it took the hours to die the built a fire place..and now all the family bones are together maria died by being hit in the head with the back of the gun alexei died after 3 extra bullets
adena539 3 years ago
but yes! it would've been nice :)
adena539 3 years ago
Maybe your right. But when they looked at their remains, Anastasia's and Alexei's skeleton were different. So they must have survived and tricked the killers to pretend they are dead. Later there were reports from Bulgaria that someone must have took them to the hospital. And later, the "Bulgarian Anastasia" was found. She might have been the grand duchess. So she must have still been alive.
longman718 3 years ago
yes but in the end it turns out anastasia grew 1.6 cm taller than mashenka.. AND AT THE TIME THE DIDN'T KNOW!! sorry but grr if i say anymore my secrets are ruined so i'll just leave a little hint how know more
