I am a dispatcher, He should know and expect that he is going to be verbally abused far worse than what that girl did. This is not something you can do. This is not to say that what she did was ok either. On the first call, I would not have even commented on her language and that would have defused it. And yes, this happens every day and worse.

He must do that in order to forgive himself, and that is the only way he will avoid doing something like this again. @cntryguy146 This was apparently a model officer. I think everything worked out, except that the officer didn't admit his mistake. He must do that in order to forgive himself, and that is the only way he will avoid doing something like this again. I understand she is upset, but the young lady should forgive the officer, and perhaps he will realize just how wrong he is. Love is the only power that can overcome hate.

I'm angry at BOTH of them. It seems to me that the girl cared more about setting up a situation where she could sue the police for supposedly "not doing their job" than getting care for her dad. Of course, that doesn't excuse this so-called "police officer," Sgt. McFarland, from getting mad at her and hanging up on her multiple times instead of trying to calm her to find out why she's calling. I hope Sgt. McFarland is fired and the girl loses in court.

It's common sense to remain calm, ask for the address to the location, ask what is wrong, and dispatch an ambulance. Apparently he needs "additional training" for this. What a freaking retard!!

He even waited to hear her swear before he answered she did not swear again until he started chastising her instead of getting her connected. This crap also happened in Dallas a decade or so back the operator refused to help because caller swore as his mother lay dieing. Her excuse she was a christian and she was offended so she held his line so he couldn't make a call and refused to help.
