while that may be true, the wedding day is also a test especially for the hijab-wearer to see if they will stick with their hijab or give in to the tradition and what-not and take it off. i actually went to a wedding not too long a go and i was told that the bride (who wears hijab) WAS wearing her hijab and done it up really nicely while still preserving the hijab. inshAllah when i myself get married i'd want my wife-to-be to keep her hijab on.

While some of these dresses are gorgeous, I can't see how they are 'hijab'. These dresses look hardly different from Western gowns (I.e. white is only typically worn in the West) except they have sleeves and a headscarf, which really doesn't mean much when the dress is very tight and shows the body. Very beautiful, but hardly hijab, unless some families are 'less strict' at weddings (I would think not)....
I think hijab means to cover, to veil, to shelter. It also means in popular sense head cover and modest dress for women. Hijab doesnt specifically mean the dress it means to show modesty, privacy and morality. These dresses reflect the concept of Hijab and shows a glimpse of how gorgeous muslim dresses can be even after covering. Subhanallah

while that may be true, the wedding day is also a test especially for the hijab-wearer to see if they will stick with their hijab or give in to the tradition and what-not and take it off. i actually went to a wedding not too long a go and i was told that the bride (who wears hijab) WAS wearing her hijab and done it up really nicely while still preserving the hijab. inshAllah when i myself get married i'd want my wife-to-be to keep her hijab on.

u can actually get a nice combination of asian dress and hijab... if u go for a shaadi lehnga (if u r asking for that..im not sure..lol) then u can get a dress with a shirvani neck...wear an underscarf in same colour as the dupatta and wear it like the desi brides do.. i ve seen that on girls and it looks quite nice :)

While some of these dresses are gorgeous, I can't see how they are 'hijab'. These dresses look hardly different from Western gowns (I.e. white is only typically worn in the West) except they have sleeves and a headscarf, which really doesn't mean much when the dress is very tight and shows the body. Very beautiful, but hardly hijab, unless some families are 'less strict' at weddings (I would think not)....

I think hijab means to cover, to veil, to shelter. It also means in popular sense head cover and modest dress for women. Hijab doesnt specifically mean the dress it means to show modesty, privacy and morality.
