no, snowboarding has very limited terrain-snow/mountains/mt.parks/ whereas skating is something of expression, you see the different styles every pro/am/skater has and they''re all unique except for fakes that immitate pros. but skating isn't something you practice for and work out. just being consistent, which is diff. looking at skating 10 yrs ago it seemed fun. now its ledge dancing, not every kid has to do lips to grinds. i think i admire kids doing primos cuz thats genuine fun and skating

if i can't convince you skating is a sport i'll just win this debate by pure stamina. so in other words skateboarding is easily more complex than jogging an simple bike riding. i think you're differentiating between competition and lack of. if you were playing basketball by yourself, there's no loser or winner. unless you have low self-esteem. it's just you the ball and the hoop, but you're still playing a sport. once again it's not a competition but you're still playing a sport.

don't be daft homie. a sport requires certain athletic qualities. STRENGTH, AGILITY, MENTAL FORTITUDE (balls), and a degree of intelligence. a sport also has standard labels and rules. skateboarding has names for all its tricks and you can't front about that. if you flip the board with your heel and call it a kickflip people won't attack you but they won't shrug it off. all i see here are people desperate to keep skateboarding unlabeled and cool, when the label isn't even that big a deal. skate

no, i don't really skate anymore, but i used to. i'm not suggesting that the x-games are an accurate representation of skateboard culture. but, it is a competition, one of many skateboard competitions.
