I live in New Jersey where medicinal weed was made legal by Gov. Corzine on June 18,2010, that was the last bill he passed & the republican who took his place continues to drag it out while so many people suffer waiting to obtain it legally. The doctors hesitate to perscribe as it will reduce their reward check from the drug companies by helping those on oxy & other nightmare painkillers get off them. It just isn't right!
I was a critic of weed for the longest! I came down with debiliating glacoma grossly robbing my of by visual acuity and sharpness. I tried every glaucoma eye drop on the market and lower my eye pressure and ALL OF THEM had a side effect which made my visual accuity even WORSE! Out of desperation, I smoked some weed and NOT ONLY did it lower my eye pressure consistantly, but it provided me with damn near 2020, eagle sharp vision. I passed my vision test at the DMV for the first time in 10 years!!
@BWExposed03 out of respect to my neighbor, i just take two sheets of fabric softner and put it in that cardboard cylinder from a toilet paper roll and blow the smoke into that and it comes out smelling like fabric softner. its actually a pretty badass thing cause it makes the room smell good. should try it out. especially if you take rips from a bong. hope that helps!

@mrarches That is such an old and worn out argument. Using the same logic, all people who are into narcotics have used water, maybe that is a gateway substance? Or they smoked or drank first, which are both legal, these are also gateway drugs. The problem is not totally the substance, the user who takes these things voluntarily and than obsesses with these drugs to the point where they then do become addicted to them, can typically and in most cases can be related to mental dependencies.

The point I am trying to make is that we can select a substance and than delegate it to be "Gateway Drug". To a point it boils down to obsession with a substance at the start. Than comes the mental dependence, and depending on the substance, physical dependence, but one does not happen without the other. @Aperki2010 You are absolutely correct, using the argument of mind altering drugs, nicotine and alcohol can be considered gateway drugs, a term I hate. You have these substances, not all people who try them continue using them, nor do they always make them move on to the greater highs. Aside from using these drugs to the point where you develop a physical dependence on them, most people who continue to use after the first try, might have a mental dependence that then precludes them to a PD.
Well that would be great, but I live in a repressive southern state that will never have medical marijuana. I would benefit from medical marijuana very much, but I will never have such a permit.
