This woman is absolutely amazing - a true original. Yes, yes she has influences of James Brown, Andre 3000 but seamlessly adds all these to her own style. In fact I think she is better than all those influences : heck she out dances James Brown. Andre 3000 & MJ. Her lyrics are intelligent her voice amazing. She keeps her clothes on, does not expose flesh to sell her wares and understands that as a Black female artist she need not restrict herself to the usual R&B. More power Janelle Monae.

Why is it that every time someone comes out who's eccentric and may have a couple similarities with another artist, they have to be "copying" them? You can tell this girl has put a lot of years into her craft, performance and creativity. She's seasoned already. If there are any similarities between she and another artist, it's only coincidental and mainly because artsy, eccentric people tend to gravitate towards the same concepts anyway.
