Common descent is as much a fact as it is a fact that the earth orbits the sun. The distribution patterns of ERVs alone is sufficient evidence for this, but we have an abundance of additional evidence on top of that (genetic, fossil, etc.).

First of all, evolution does not say there was a big bang. That would be, appropriately, big bang cosmology.
A theory in scientific terms is not "a guess", it's "an explanation of a set of observations". Observations are facts. The observations that the theory of evolution is built on are the "facts" of evolution (homology, ERV's, genetic drift, inheritance patterns, etc. etc.).
Matter comes from energy as it cools down. This happens as it is dispersed, and it is a rise in entropy.

the point is, energy had to have a start. Every thing MUST have a start and a finish according to the laws of physics and Thermodynamics, and it makes sense. If you were to have an item that was cooling, the energy was being depleted and being changed into a lesser kind of energy. The only way to restore the energy is to deplete more energy to cause an energy exchange. this therefore means that as long as energy is being depleted, more energy must be depleted to restore previous energy.
in the end you end up with a huge mass of depleted energy that eventually will become antimatter as there will be no more polar energy that can be used.
so if not the big bang then what? you cant just say that there was always things evolving, that would leave evolution with a hole saying that something must have happened to start it off. If that was the case what did?

Evolution: The change of allele frequencies in a population over time (this is the scientific definition of evolution. Any other definition is irrelevant). This is observed daily, all over the world.
Common descent is as much a fact as it is a fact that the earth orbits the sun. The distribution patterns of ERVs alone is sufficient evidence for this, but we have an abundance of additional evidence on top of that (genetic, fossil, etc.).

Since each change is brought on by a random mutation that is beneficial and thus selected for, any given change would only occur where the mutation occured. Thus, creatures would only evolve the particular trait that the mutation coded for in the population that the mutation occured in. Fairly common sense, I should think.
But you're right in so far as different mutations that give similar benefits to adapt to similar environments do occur all over the planet. But they're not identical.

one thing I've always wondered, how can you prove evolution, when evolution says that there was a big bang. how can anyone be so sure? no one would be there to see it, and the only organic matter to appear would come millions of years later! I am just confused as evolution seems to me a guess on what could have happened, and that is supported as evolution being a "theory." First of all, evolution does not say there was a big bang. That would be, appropriately, big bang cosmology.
A theory in scientific terms is not "a guess", it's "an explanation of a set of observations". Observations are facts. The observations that the theory of evolution is built on are the "facts" of evolution (homology, ERV's, genetic drift, inheritance patterns, etc. etc.).
Matter comes from energy as it cools down. This happens as it is dispersed, and it is a rise in entropy.

so where does the suns energy come from? last thing I knew, Energy doesn't come from nowhere. the way I see It something had to start it all. Last thing I knew, energy was dated as having a start and an end. If everything was already here and entropy was taking place, then everything would essentially become antimatter, causing the entire universe to turn itself inside out. the point is, energy had to have a start. Every thing MUST have a start and a finish according to the laws of physics and Thermodynamics, and it makes sense. If you were to have an item that was cooling, the energy was being depleted and being changed into a lesser kind of energy. The only way to restore the energy is to deplete more energy to cause an energy exchange. this therefore means that as long as energy is being depleted, more energy must be depleted to restore previous energy.

I have no "faith" in atheism. Atheism is the lack of belief in god(s), and since noone has been able to define what a god is, let alone provide the slightest evidence for the existence of one, I don't see any reason to lend the suggestion any more credence than I would to the idea of Santa Claus or the tooth fairy.
And of course there's something out there that's greater than us. It's called the universe.

Of course I'm an atheist. I don't believe in the existence of god(s), that makes me an atheist. I don't, however, have faith in the non-existence of gods. I simply remain to be convinced.
And noone (except creationists misrepresenting science) is claiming that everything came from nothing. The big bang wasn't a "creation" in any meaningful sense, all the energy was already there.

yes I do. for one (i already stated this) Energy simply cannot come out of no where. There has to be an origin. Anything other than that does not make sense. the point I am making is that if you have energy that is rapidly depleting, there must be a source of the energy to have a dispersion and depletion of energy. If the energy is coming from the sun, the hydrogen still had to have a source.
I am just stuck without any proofs that there is not a god, and it seems more logical that there is one.

This also means energy can't be "depleted", the energy is still there, it has just changed states.
And since it's impossible to prove that something doesn't exist, somewhere in the universe, especially when that something isn't defined (what's a "god"?), then I'm sorry, but your argument seems pretty flawed.

The Letters From Hell video was shown in an 8th grade health class in my town last year. The teacher claimed it was about drunk driving... I guess it didn't occur to him that the Jewish girl in his class might have a problem with it. Therefore, if God stands for peace and love and mercy you must abide in a place vacant of those things (a place of pain and gnashing of teeth). That's the truth. You do realise that 1) that story makes no sense (why the need for a human/semi-human sacrifice, he's god, he can do whatever he wants; why was he only dead for 36 hours; how could he be abandoned by god if he was god; etc.) and 2) even if it did make sense, it still wouldn't absolve god for punishing us for being exactly what he created us to be. And it still leaves us with a concept of a god that is so petty as to demand our worship, or punish us in revenge. It's ridiculous.

I find it interesting that the old testament does not really mention the place - only the new one does. Perhaps people were starting to disbelieve that god could actually smite them where they stood so they had to invent a new line of punishment to scare people in line. Hmmm.
