  • Really, a well done effort. The song is so appropriate and the editing, while not always perfect, is perfect for the song. Really, well done and the storyboarding is pitch-percect, for all the dynamics. Well, well done. And also, thank you for making this!

  • This is one of my favorite Rasputina songs ever!

  • Boris Karloff is so ridiculously sexy. Am I alone in thinking this?

  • @XxMissNoNamexX hehe

  • @XxMissNoNamexX As sexy as I think Boris Karloff was, I think Bela Lugosi was even SEXIER... Just saying...

  • @Nergaladdictchic No wai. Never understood why people found him so sexy. Karloff's body is so fit! My god!

  • this video is freaking scarry

  • Bela Lugosi is dead. ;]

  • @lekkeilioko666 "undead, undead" xD

  • This video is awsome! The music fits it very well! Thank you SO MUCH FOR CREATING AND THE UPLOAD!!!!♥♥♥♥

  • The Black Cat was an incredible movie. Probably the first ever movie with Devil Worship in it.

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • this is definitely one of my favorites from rasputina. too bad its not loud enough

  • Love the song and the video works really well with it. Am watching it over and over and love it more every time.

  • 2:16 ...Bela looks so soulful and haunted <3

  • I'm addicted to this video; I've replayed it about 20 times tonight. I want to dream of this!

  • one of their best albums and this is a great job you did! Thank you!

  • This is awesome...great pairing and the video is well done.

  • Boris and Zoe and Bella and Mellora.

  • Hard album to find, Especially with the little story book,

  • @koffinkat666 The one with the little storybook was the promo copy and turns up in used record stores sometimes, or might be found at ebay. The price varies depending on who's selling it. Even without the booklet, the album is well worth the trouble to find.

  • If you never read another book you must read the great greg monk book......Lugosi & Karloff..........a haunting collaboration.......

  • @1912Universal I have never read it but what I take from it is that the whole premise was stolen by mr. Freeze in batman forever?? either way I would love to read this..

  • The organ music your hear is JS Bach.........."Tacotta & Fugue"

  • Excellent video work

  • love it!

  • Nicely choreographed. There will never again be actors as great as Boris and Bela. Sigh...

  • I don't think I've ever commented on ANY thing on Youtube before but I had to tell you that this is brilliant.

  • i love this song, n the video too, ima look for it on netflix.

    good job rasputina ; )

  • this song is sooo nice it's different n different is always better

  • Very entertaining! It certainly seems to have inspired movies from as diverse as Rocky Horror to The Cell...I'll have to track down the movie.

  • Black Cat is one of the best films ever.

  • this video is great

  • Love this video <3

  • Lugosi > Karloff

  • просто нечто мозговзрывательно

    одна из лучших у Rasputina

  • GREAT VIDEO!

    GREAT SONG!

    GREAT BAND!

    GREAT ACTORS!

    Average movie!

  • bela lugosi's my fave. dracula, drugs and he use to be friends with ed wood the master of cheese what more could you want

  • Favorited. The best edited video to feature Rasputina I've seen.

  • This video is simply breathtaking. How marvelous!

    Thank you!

  • Песня классная. Видео мрачновато. Лично я не люблю подобного рода накладки.

  • Very well done... It just makes me want to see the actual movie more and more.

  • awesome job editing the video ^_^

  • What an awesome classic, I could watch "The Black Cat" over and over again, for this video though, I would have preferred metal or something harder, with "Herr Poelzig" (karloff's character) playing the organ solo from the movie(Toccata and Fugue in D minor) at the tail end of the video

  • My only problem with thinking of Karloff as sexy is that he looks *exactly* like my granpa.

  • he may look like your grandpa, but he is still AWESOME

  • это круче чем песни детей убиенных!

  • great song, great movie, great editing

  • nothing wrong they are beautiful people just not in the standard sense of what is beautiful.

especially Karloff has a fascinating face with an amazing Scala of expressions. from so very sinister to the man you just cant dislike when you see him.

and who does a better Frankensteins monster then Karloff ;)

  • Is it bad that I find Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi ridiculously attractive?

  • No, not at all. Karloff might be an acquired taste, but many men and women regarded Lugosi as something of a sex symbol. He had many affairs and his last wife said that young men in make-up were always hanging around him.

  • If that is the case, then lock me up!:D

  • No! I love good old Boris!

  • Nope. ;)

  • ::Sigh:: This is sincerely wonderful.

  • Well... I can't say anything about the music, but the video (wonderfully made, and used) creeps the hell outa me!

    Well done dustinlcollins, well done!

  • *can't say anything bad about the music* (I think it's great)

  • You should get the whole album.

It is increasingly difficult to find, but it's totally worth it.

One of the few "goth" bands you can listen to even if you are well over your teens.

  • I neeeeed this movie!!!!!!!!!! and this song wow! so entertaining! I could watch again and again! I want this movie I wanna know what happens! :)

  • Oh wow

  • This is one amazing video.

You have done wonders for this song.

    I listen to this constantly...bravo.

  • WOW. This is amazing!!

  • cool.

  • The vid is great, as is the song..

  • I <3 <3 <3 this vid SOOO MUCH! First of all Karloff and Lugosi, oh gawd I <3 them! And then there's The Black Cat I <3 the Black Cat! I <3 the music tooo! Thanx for the great vid!

  • Your video is pretty much the coolest video I've ever seen, you know that?

  • Does ANYONE know where I can find a copy of this song

  • It's on the Rasputina album "How We Quit the Forest." Shouldn't be hard to find on amazon, itunes, or the torrenting app of your choice.

  • @dustinlcollins I love the job you did on this video, it rocks, (but make them support starving artists!!) no torrenting rasptina, they deserve it!!!

  • you may have to pay a bit for it on amazon though cause its one of the few out of print rasputina albums. oddly that album has several of their more popular songs on it

  • @dustinlcollins Thank you, you just reminded me that I've been meaning to watch that XD. One of my favourite Rasputina songs as well. Nicely done!

  • The album is "How We Quit the Forest" I don't know how easy it would be to find it though. I don't see her albums in the store too much around here...

  • @phyxsuis picked up my copy at Boarders . that was in ohio though. not sure how available they are in your area.

  • Great vid and editing.

That is an astounding film, and very dark, esp. at the time it was made, mixing satanism, subtle necrophilia, and fresh and painful memories of the Great War.

  • Very entertaining! The music and film go pretty well together. As everyone knows, "The Black Cat" was the first film to co-star the two big horror stars of the early '30s, Karloff and Lugosi. And what a pairing they were! This film is one of the most visually striking of the '30s, with its modernistic sets and amazing camera work. Add on the classical music, and the iconic acting of the two stars, and you have a movie that blows people away. Quite an experience. And this video is great too.

  • I love this song, and this film. Rasputina is great. Karloff and Lugosi are definitely two of my favorite actors. Great editing as well.

  • Awesome!

Lugosi and Rasputina remember me Darling Violetta... Another great "gothic" band.

  • RASPUTINA is GREAT

  • I haven't heard this song since my desktop crashed... I lost a lot of good songs because of the stupid virus that caused the crash. This was one of them. Great vid, I love Boris Karloff, and how could anyone NOT love Bela Lugosi? Thanks for sharing!

  • I love this really hard right now. One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite bands... <3

  • Top notch on the editing. The timing must have driven you mad but it was so worth it! :)

  • How is this the sexiest thing I've ever seen?

  • Nice.

  • Great song!

  • Beautifully done!

  • Gothic horror at its very best!

  • блина, это одна из самых мрачно-величественных песен ever! - под неё просто так и тянет умереть на простывших российских полях где-нибудь в октябре - на вологодщине, мать её!

  • Awesome for a fanvid!!! Silket, the story is about the leader of a cult (Karloff) and his "guests" who are lured into his macabre rituals. Lugosi actually plays a good guy in this one. Terrific little movie.

  • VERY VERY VERY awesome video!! I love it so much! The music fits perfectly with the clips u used from 'The Black Cat'.....gosh i wanna see this movie SO much!!!

  • Actually, for as faggy and goofy as the whole goth thing is. . .I gotta say this is pretty cool. Good job, for real!

  • perfectly suited to each other!

  • Wow, this is achingly beautiful. Nice work!

  • wooow...scary!

  • wow what a video what a song... i am haunted

  • pretty much the gothest thing i have watched ever

    haha

    i love it

  • Which movie is this footage from?

  • Best.. youtube.. fanvid.. ever..

  • Is the Rocky Horror Picture show making fun of the movie used in this clip? Just wondering because it seems like the exact same premise - Awesome video btw I love Rasputina and this was probable my favourite song by them.

  • I can't stand how beautiful this is. Absolutely amazing.

  • my god...amazing! makes me want to prowl in the night with orchestral instruments...

  • Absolutely miraculous. I've come back to this video for over a year now. It's simply the greatest music video I've seen for any film! And for passionate devotees of Karloff and Lugosi like myself, it's a strangely emotional experience to have them set to music like this... Sublime.

  • the song isn't my favorite, but great vid:)

  • I really wanted to like this group. But I think I've been spoiled by Apocalyptica.

  • Two great combinations!

  • ha i love this song

  • Great! thrilling! dazzling!

    One of the best ever!

Who made this vidio? i wander

  • the person who posted it... geez look in the sidebar

    I agree... it is dazzling

  • I wrote an English assignment on this song. I'm pretty sure I got an A+. :) Great song and band.

  • Rasputina is on of my favorites.

and this song is the best

  • Great job!

  • What movie is this from??

  • It's from "The Black Cat"

  • I just heard about them today, and this is incredible shit, love t.

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Oh goodness! I absolutely loved it!

I've never seen any movies with Karloff, but I'm dying to do so and this seems like the perfect start, especially if there's Bela A__A

  • This is better than about 99.99% of what's playing on MTV

  • I saved this to my favorites a year ago, and I watch it all the time. its such a wonderful editing job, and the choice of film is just superb. I just love it! Long Live Rasputina!

  • Did Bela Lugosi really refer to Karloff as a "limey cocksucker" as portrayed in "Ed Wood" or was that artistic license on Tim Burton's part ?

  • He did, I heard him!

  • 100% artistic license, Lugosi and Karloff respected each other as professionals too much for antics like that.

Both Karloff and Lugosi's families have a pretty low regard for Burton's "Ed Wood".

  • Wow. Fantastic job!

  • Mmm. I love Bela Lugosi.

You did an excellent job on this video! Keep up the great work!

  • Rasputina is such a cool band!!

  • this video is well!!!!me gusta!!!y the new zero tmb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wenas lunasssss-------aunq su genero no me agrade, pero entre todas esta me gusta more

  • This video is HOT! I LOVE IT!

  • That was really impressive! :O You did a lovely job!

  • Well done !!!!

  • hermosa canción

  • I think it fits well, but someone should combine rasputina with Nosferatu. That would be amazing

  • i´ve got a gooseflesh!!!

  • This is the song that made me fall in love with Rasputina, it's absolutely beautiful.. Your video is incredible, amazing job.

  • 4 stars because it was so good I want you to go back and make it better.

  • Love this song and love what you've done. Thanks!

  • Excellent. Karloff and Lugosi both superior to any we have today. We should treasure what we have of these two, there will never be two like them again. Excellent.

  • very good! Great music match and edit ! Like a real trailer ! Now my memory might fail, but , isn't this the one where Lugosi skins Karloff alive ? Or was that The Raven....haven't seen either in 30 yrs...since I was a kid...Creature Features...NYC 10PM Sat nites !

  • this is like when a song from a movie soundtrack has a video made from the films, it fits so well! great - Bluetuliphead p.s. that creamofcardstv guy has posted the same message on a load of my videos too, raaar!

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. I've done another clip on some old cigarette cards of 1930's actors and actresses: Boris Karloff from The Mummy,Gracie Fields, Florence Desmond, Charles Laughton, Laurence Olivier and many more.

  • This is clips from the movie THE BLACK CAT. This was the best movie ever made from Karloff. This movie was made in 1933 as my dad was the art director.

  • Very nice!

  • bravo!

  • And such a sweet song to tie it all up.

  • Superb...that's all i have to say..S U P E R B!! Well Done

  • you fit this all together so perfectly! Karloff [and Lugosi] are such amazing actors!

  • that was so wonderfull!

  • Excellent, excellent and most excellent excellent! Karloff is a fantastic actor! The song fits beautifully! You have a great talent! Please do some more...

  • AWSOME! the misuc went so well with the vid and was put together beautifully:)

  • Long Live Bela!!

  • I'm 46, and I missed out on _The Black Cat_ because it was left out of the Shock Theater package. I didn't see it until a few years ago, and was blown away by it.

Oh, I also like your video :-)

  • I am amazed, this video is amazing, you are god.

  • Wonderful! "The New Zero" isn't a favorite of mine, but right now I can't think of which Rasputina song I feel would be more appropriate for the video. I give it five stars, nevertheless!

  • It' s v ery well done- bravo! Nice to see classics treated respectfully, and knowledge of stars such as Karloff and Lugosi.

  • fucking awesome.

it's nice to see something other than anime featured in songs.

  • It's great!! I love that song and love that movie, deliciously lustful Karloff!

  • Great job! the song really goes well with the video  to you!

  • Awesome video and also very professional made. Greetings from Germany.

  • Really pretty cool. Ya got a great talent, buddy. The Black Cat was amazing! I loved that movie. Geez, I'm like 28 and no one of my stupid generation knows of these awesome movies!

  • Very well done. The Golden Age of Horror...would've loved to have lived back then and partied with these guys.

  • Very well edited, and the combination of The New Zero and the Black Cat makes for a haunting video. I've never seen the movie, but I will now. :)

  • what is the movie?

the editing was beautiful; new zero is my favorite rasputina song

  • well done.

  • two of my greatest affinities, together. wow! it's beautiful!!
