My only question for Aviso is, why not consider a Gore-Tex vent, similar to those found in the Firewires? Thus, you could eliminate the need for regular venting and still have the drain plug in place in the event of a puncture.
Just picked up an RNF model at 5'6". Wasn't sure if it would even float my frame. Holy shit, it not only floats it, but it flies in 3 ft. Florida crap surf. Awesome... For everybody bitching about how hard these are to maintain, They're REALLY not. Repairs, done right, aren't that different from an old poly board, in fact I'd say they're easier since you don't have to worry about filling in with foam/Qcell. And the venting of the baord takes a full 30 seconds of your time.
I ride a 6'1" Lost Mayhem Aviso, with a squashtail, and I'm 6' and 180lbs. The thing is a monster. It's really best in 4'+ waves, so I ride my fish on the smaller days (here in FL), but when the big waves come out to play, so does the Aviso Monster. I've been pulled through the pylons at Sebastian Inlet on a rough day, and used my board to save me from the rocks in between the pillars, and despite a hard impact and using it as a rescue lever, the board didn't even suffer a scratch. Killer.
Farkkkk yeah, best thing my mother ever got me, Look at it this way worst thing that can happen is he becomes a dole bludging surfer shreading the nicest waves & pulling hot beach babes, or gets eaten buy a shark or drowns & the chanses of the last two are allot less chance than the 1st....Id get him the board m8
I love surf broads, especially if they are well endowed. I whole heartedly recommend you get your son a surf broad. If and when he gets tired of her you can then get him a surf BOARD...
I'm sooooo glad that so many people like to comment on products they have never used.
I don't care if it has a drain plug. Ive surfed a board that was "sinking" from a puncture and there is No way to drain it. this sounds quite smart.
Plus the board it Eco friendly. something every true surfer should be aware of. If your an old dog shaper that is still raping our planet using barbaric non eco friendly products... At least respect that others would like to be more conservative
Hey LALA.... You should watch your own videos some time. You are the one who surfs like crap then goes out and talks shit on everyone else because you are scared everyone will find out that you are a KOOK! All they have to do is watch your gay ass video and they will figure it out. You should come hang out in San Clemente and tell Ward what a kook he is for riding an Aviso...
i just wanna go surf! -why should i buy a board that i need to worry about temputature differences, drainage plugs and lubricated x-rings for? please someone answer that.
Huge piece of crap.Surfboards are supposed to flex in & out of turns.Have you ever seen a pro ride a pop out in a rated contest.I rest my case. The guy on the video looks like a ripper LOL.Get rid of that thing!!!!!
Popout? You're fucking stupid. They do flex, hell you can even adjust the flex. Maybe they won't perform as well as a Fiberglass board flex wise, but pros can use one board break it and give a shit less. These are mostly targeted at people who want to ride this board for the next 5-10 years, not once in a competition. Most pros are whores anyways.
Apparently your not a seasoned surfer .I give you 5 years in the water at best.I'm laughing sooo hard" I want to keep my board for 5 to 10 years" your KILLING me.That thing is a king of pop out & made by a whore company.Have fun on your 1000 dollar whore board!!!!By the way have you made surfboards for 30 years?JUst checking HA
I've been shaping for about 4 years now, surfing for 7. I've had my same Merrick for 5 years, a few of my own boards, and my Aviso. You're killing me with your ignorance. How the fuck are you supposed to hand shape a hollow board out of carbon fiber? It's by no means a popout and by no means a custom. It's a new breed, be open minded.
makin decks for 30 years......how the fuck do you know how to use a computer old man, by the shit that you type you dont sound 30 , more like your fuckin shoesize, why dont you act like your 50 and subtly decline the use of a product, not attack someone's sexuality because you dont like the same product......fuck you shure you ride a wave, sound a little to wound up about shit to really catch a wave, mabye you should buy a harley and just beatdown everyone who doesnt see eye to eye.
these things must be light as a twelve year old bulimic

Plug installation...
So important video... never ever could imagine, that the plug installation such a hard work.
Do you have any videos about how to correct close car's fuel tank cap, after refueling in gas station? Might be very useful as well.

This board is hollow that is why it drains and if it had a puncture you drain it when it is out of the water then repair it.
