Vocation means "calling".

The pastorate is a calling, not a vocation/profession. I would encourage any young person, that if they're not called, to choose something else.

What a great setting to show (countryside)! Frederick Buechner's honesty is one of his greatest qualities as a writer; I have appreciated him for years.  Vocation seems to be a life-long search for some of us.
