I had the pleasure of seeing Jan live with the Hilliard Ensemble...There is no other sax player like him! Totally unique in his sound/approach. My favorite musician period...and I'm a drummer/percussionist! He has single handedly helped shape the the eurojazz aesthetic...with a bit of assistance from Manfred Eicher!!! :o)

u should try and see some performances of Barry Cocroft, he's one of the best sax players in the world, the composer of many such 21st century jazz sax solos as Black and Blue, Ku Ku, Rock me etc....

Amazing stuff. I love all the musicians here. Jan Garbarek has one of the most wonderful, instantly recognisable sax sounds ever. Miroslav Vitous is just stunning. The drummer's pretty good too. :-)

Peter Erskine On The Drums !!!! He is the best drummer ever, also performing with Diana Krall Live At The Montréal Jazz Festival, also on the Jazz Festivals This summer!

Maybe "in terms of jazz music" there is nothing, but in terms of Music, his playing is above the classic jazz which is limited itself.
