  • Badass guitar playing...Audley knows all the cool licks

  • That SG sounds very near to a Tele

  • audley is one of my all time favorites and is an amazing blues rock stylist as well as a great songwriter. if only all musicians could play with that much honesty.

  • Wow, thanks Audley. That bit about integrating mixolydian with the minor/major pentatonic mode was really eye opening for me.

  • The solo he talks about at around 7:20 is not Too cold in the winter, it is pretty as you please from the same album :) I was just messing with it....Audley is one of greatest players

  • At 7:09 the lead that he plays is actually from the song "Pretty As You Please" not "Too Cold In The Winter" from the Cry Of Love album "Brother" This guy is one of the coolest lead guitar players that I have ever heard!

  • this reminded me of Clapton lessons on the Cream dvd, awesome.

  • All I can say is DAMN!!!!!!!!! What a guitar player.

  • I'd love to make the pent. scale sound that cool...it's always the same nonsense with my licks. :P

  • That flat 5 is Audley's sound. (no disrespect)

  • yeh he slips in a dorian mode feel with most of his playing,as i found out after playin thro cry of loves brother album, awesome player saw em in 1993 in birmingham (uk)

  • his dorian is usually across the fretboard never in boxed positions. "Drive it Home pt 1-2" live her on the tube i've disected. Good example of his stellar playing.

  • Audley looks like Doctor House!

  • yeah he does, but its better to be a guitar player than a dumbass actor lol

  • 8:49 - I want it to sound like a Pimp...

    I love Audley

If only Clapton stayed this cool post Cream

  • this guy rocks

  • What a talent! Cry of Love was a super awesome rock n roll band! Their first record Brother is still one of my favorites. The solo he talks about is actually not from Too Cold in the Winter, but from a song called Pretty as You Please. They are both in E (guess he got confused). Check out the live version of the song on here. Search Pretty as You Please- Cry of Love. (solo is at 2:08) It is bad ass!

  • Thanks Gibson! Audley fans: Get the rare Cry of Love album: "Diamonds and Debris" the whole album is great especially the song: "Revelation" wow!

  • this man a very good feeling and i love the sound he gets with the SG.

(the Matchell amp seems to be great too)

  • "matchless" amp.

  • I have loved Audley's playing for many years - ever since I heard Cry of Love's Peacepipe sometime in the early 1990s. A great talent indeed! What model SG Les Paul is he playing? Is that a new RI model or is it a modified vintage SG?

  • Its either a vintage sg or a custom shop model made only for him although i have seen that colour around brand new (vos sg). And definitally has great talent.

  • I highly believe it`s a Gibson VOS reissue. Looks too new and shiny to be a vintage.

  • i used to walk around the streets of nyc with audley in the early 2000's and he would turn me onto dixie dregs records at bleecker street music shops. he's really tall.

  • Before Audley Freed joined the black crowes he was in a band called Cry of Love, try and get hold of the cry of love album it's called Brother. i think you guys will love it.

  • wow

  • i want that sg. i'm saving for that exact one.

  • this is a amazing guy!

  • wow that sounded sweet!:D

  • this guy has the same tone as me and i hv never seen him before...lol. He is a great player with great tone soul and guitar.

  • wow he is good

  • Cool stuff.

  • Sweet! Go Gibson!

  • sick

  • hey gibson, just wondering if you could send me a free les paul

  • If only...you can dream.
