Thanks for posting this! I remember seeing it on TV in late '95 or early '96. It was at the peak of the most depressing time for Apple. It was also at a time when the internet was not taken seriously as a source of prosperity or innovation by the majority of people. Most people mistakenly thought that AOL's dial up bulletin board was the internet. The web was just starting to take hold of the imagination of the informed person. Google didn't exist. There was lots of talk of an AAPL takeover.

What makes Steve Jobs really incredible is that at this point in his life (mid-1990s) he could have easily lived off his prior accomplishments and rode off into the sunset as a legend. However, his greatest work was still ahead of him and at that time nobody had any clue.

He wanted to prove that passion, creativity and a dedication to great quality could be a better business strategy than the mass-produced, low-priced average quality approach (Microsoft and most other big companies); and he did it!
