ive got the NWZ A728 (same thing but no bluetooth). HOW DO YOU PUT VIDEO CLIPS such as avi, flash, wma etc files???!!! Its not letting me do that. The only videos i can upload are my mpeg4. I only have a few mpeg4 format videos and loads of other video files. Im getting fustrated cos i purchased this thinking i can just put any video files. Is there any way i can put any video files??

the 728 only plays MP4 files so you will need to find an MP4 converter (i recommend allok mp4 converter)

i could make a video, but i dont know any desktop capture that works with Vista let me know if u got one

drag and drop the folders/files to the SS then click the 3rd (purple)tab on the top

you should have your mp3 player plugged in, so it is pointed to the mp3 player drive X:

you then press the 2nd arrow(one below AUTO →)

it may or may not prompt you if you want to connect to network to get some information

or

format that you want to convert (i prefer the sony AAC format)

that's it!

As much as I love it, there are 3 minor downsides to this media player.

1. It requires Sonicstage, unlike some of the other Sony models that have now been introduced with drag and drop.

2. They don't provide you with a video converter so I have to use "Super" to convert the files instead.

3. No bluetooth.

Quite minor but would be nice if they addressed these in future models.

Well it seems they have addressed the bluetooth in the NW-A800 series but still, They need to ditch Sonicstage!

SonicStage! yes, as much as it's a piece of trash and i hate it, having just got an NWZ-829 i'm... missing it!

Now i have to remake all my playlists - easier said than done since i store everything in WAV. Plus the transfer options are limited - in practicle terms this means with no ATRAC you get lower sound quality.

BTW, will the 919 at least accept English track info input? track name, artist, etc.??

Yeh my 919 recognizes English track info etc, just no English menu's but I'm completely used to that now!

How is the NWZ-829? Isn't that the next generation of the 919 but with bluetooth and no 1seg?

yeah, the 829 has bluetooth - for what it's worth. i got it 'cause i really wanted 16gb...

am i correct that the 919 can load in ATRAC lossless? - what bkps can you load at?

Currently there is NO language option for it other than Japanese as it was not aimed at sales for Japan only.

I am in the same boat as you in that I can speak but don't read Japanese very well but I am coping with it just fine. You pick up what each option does just by playing about with it.

The battery life is Heroic! It is incredible how many hours of video I've watched on mine in one charge!

Man this sucks!I've just ordered my Sony NWZ A818 with some accesories and now all of a sudden there's this newer Sony. What earbuds do they provide with this?And how much does it cost...And will it ever come over to Europe?

the walkman comes with a NC22 earbud that works with the noise canceling, so unless you are favor in the noise canceling, A818 isn't a bad choice. this walkman may not released outside or at least a year after, that's my guess.

that quality of the metallic case is very good, of course, and the screen is as good as iphone, so you don't have to buy a case for it or screen protector. of course, they dont expect you to drop it from high ground or any intentional damage. overall, if you want a slim and stylish walkman, and dont mind that it's japanese only. GO FOR IT!!
