I am a fan from way back and actually met them and did an interview in 82, I think it was really a drag that Hugh split but actually the band carried on and did some very high quality music that is in many cases as good as it ever was...they continue to play and I think are still GREAT!
Thanks for uploading this. I've always admired Hugh's articulate manner and his determination to keep doing new work beyond The Stranglers. Having said that, I still entertain the vague hope that finally, eventually he will reunite for at least a few showcase gigs with his old mates in The Stranglers. If Roger Waters and the other Pink Floyd chaps could bury the hatchet for that famous gig, I'm sure the original Stranglers could do so too. Dream on...
@coolkayaker1 Hugh eh! One time member of the best band on earth!?.....Famed for his "sword-smithery",and love of young maidens! .....Now performing Stranglers material live/solo.......
Wonder why he never plays "Old Codger" live???? Haha
you brits are lucky. wish flying was cheap I'd go to any of his shows. also, why are my favs (strummer and cornwell) always so humble, so great! I have such a disdain for the attitude of so many rockers. even as mr cornwell mentioned - lou reed??? What does he have at this point is worthy of attitude? perhaps in the seventies yes, but not now... his knew stuff is crap!

I can't think of any survivor of the punk era who's still performing and remains dignified other than Hugh Cornwell.
