The original proposal was that the new supermarket complex would include a multiplex cinema - not sure if that's still the case. Personally I'd like to see the old Hanbury cinema/bingo hall turned into a live music venue/arts centre - like they've done with the Muni Arts centre in Pontypridd or The Metropole, Abertillery.
@Sputeen I totally agree with you, like they have concerts at the miners institute in blackwood, or build a new concert hall where the central (lesser) hall used to be in wood street, its been like that for nine years, you'd think with the regeneration of bargoed they would do something there!
@Loverboy19691 Not even Caerphilly has a cinema. Not that we'd even get one with this council. 8 bloody years we've had to wait for a new library. The population of the town's about to reach 40k and we've had to use a shed on a backstreet as a library. You never hear of talks about redeveloping the piccadilly area in Caerphilly.
