I have measured 2,8 Gti engine in stock condition well maintained 180 HP!! Good and strong engine! Some 2,8 have 175 HP.....
The stry that PRV engines are slow are not true, very often these engines are out of adjustment (K-Jetronic often has clogged jets, lines, pumps, filters etc.,...)
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old PRV Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps EFi and tank clean and rustfree

I would sy its a very very elegant car not less than maserati quattroporte and
