I wish the last episode had more closure. That is, if this was truly meant to be the series finale. We never actually see Chris return home to his family and friends. Shadow is left a mystery. Cosmo's seed. What's the explanation for her conversation with Sonic after she died? How is her proposed death gonna affect Tails in the long run? Will Knuckles and Rouge ever develop a relationship? The same for Sonic and Amy. This demands a season 4

@JaysPlace20 No, Shadow is shown alive in this video. You can see his silhouette by Maria's grave. Eggman revealed he was able to bring him back. He was only left a mystery in the dub. Knuckles and Rouge along with Sonic and Amy is just something that will never happen. I doubt Sega would be okay with TMS taking those kinds of liberties with their characters.

@Haquize There's still no explanation behind how Eggman brought Shadow back nor what will happen with him now. What about the stuff regarding Cosmo and Tails? I think an interesting idea for season 4 would be to have Sonic and the others get sent back to Chris's world, yet due to the time paradox, they would all age by around 10 years. This has never been in mainstream Sonic media, and it could help give the series a darker tone, like having to keep time from standing still again. Thoughts?

@JaysPlace20 I forget exactly what he said, but Eggman quickly explained to Decoe and Bocoe how he brought Shadow back. The thing is, there's no way there's gonna be a Season 4. It's been about 5 years since this episode aired on 4Kids TV, and there's no desire to make any more. Sonic X was never popular in Japan to begin with, that's why Season 3 never aired there.

Anyway, Sonic X has gained a major cult following, despite the fact that it ended 5 years ago. Other shows have been brought back after going off the air. Futurama got brought after almost 7 years of cancellation. I wouldn't completely rule it out, especially seeing as Sonic's more recent games have been putting the franchise back on track. It's still a possibility

@JaysPlace20 The whole Season was dubbed in Japanese but it never aired there, oddly enough. That's just unpopular the show was in Japan. A large part of the reason Sonic X was brought back for Series 2 is because it was so popular here in the states. Futurama still had an active TV life when it was brought back, but you wouldn't be able to catch any Sonic X reruns in Japan.

@JaysPlace20 I can tell you one thing...in the Japanese version, when Sonic was under the tree, Cosmo didn't speak to him, it was Dark Oak. 4kids just made Cosmo speak instead, so that it would seem that she wasn't dead. (you probably know that 4kids butchered Sonic X). Cosmo's acutally dead. :(

@Sonamy444 Personally, I think some people are much too hard on the 4Kids version. After all, it ended being much more popular here in America anyway. Hence the cult following. Besides, even if Cosmo is dead it looked as if Sonic was talking to her in spirit, as if she had become one with nature. With this series just about anything can happen. If they do make a Season 4, I'd prefer that it be set on Earth again. Nothing against Season 3, I just thought 1 & 2 were more grounded with direction

@JaysPlace20 I agree, I loved the Metarex Saga, but the episodes on Earth were a lot less dark (although sometimes a darker plot is good, such as this one). Earth's story arc had a lighter tone and was more amusing, as the metarex saga was a bit more serious and dark. Both had their own appeals. :D But other than that, yes, a season 4 would be better off being set on Earth (minus Chris would be lovely) Maybe the team makes a house/base of their own and lives there, still finding a way home? :)

@Sonamy444 Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the dark tone of Season 3, and Cosmo was a great character. I just felt the 1st 2 seasons were more like the games, and had a more real world feel to them. The only thing about having another season be on Earth is they would have to find a way to keep time from stopping. As for Chris, perhaps he would be less annoying as an adult. He would probably be more useful to the others. I also wanna see what Tails would be like as a teen. We can only hope

@chloejoemel Indeed, but it could be worse. At least Sonic X finished it's main story arcs, unlike SatAM and Underground which both got cancelled prematurely. SatAM ended with a major cliffhanger, and Underground just stopped altogether. SatAM was cancelled because Power Rangers took it's time slot (damn those stupid cheese balls!), and Underground ended due to a lack of viewers. The media can be so unfair sometimes :(
