  • I am so glad I live in a city where they will not allow a Wall Mart.

  • "Story of Stuff" is NOT just only abou Wal-Mart...it's about all of our PRODUCTS we, as consumers, buy!!

  • Only partial blame belongs to Walmart, but the majority of the blame belong to the Americans who vote for elected officials like President Obama - who promised to support workers only to betray the people against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker more than once. Obama betrayed the unions like many Democrats still do.

  • Did you buy the radio in the end? Maybe you should by 1000's of them and start making Radio Shack go bust.

  • Walmart takes advantage of the labor of human beings in their time of need. They pay their workers virtually nothing ,thus they can sell you something at a cutthroat price to stomp their competition and prevent unions from fighting for american workers,i use to be against unions however their benefits to workers far outway the liabilities when you are victim of gigantic corporations like walmart

  • The government is giving more rebates. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money goes to China. If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs. and venezuela If we buy a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. If we purchase a car it will go to Germany, japan If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep that money here at home is to

  • spend it on Tattoo and beer since these are the only products still produced in US. I've been doing my part.

  • walmart is the awesomely awesome best!!!!! dont dis it or it WILL GET YOUUUUU

  • does anyone realize that these people try to overthrow goverenments and they did it 4 times.

  • this video is gay and fake = inaccuracy

  • @RstarNavaja Totally true! The facts are really innacurate. Im not saying im in favour of global warming or anything, but really, she exagerates everything way too much. Its really too fake and they only made this to start a big scandal

  • @ThiagoPires130 Finally ! someone who agreees ! =) thanx man!

  • Actually the walmart I work at actually SELLS American products...even products made in our home state...

  • the people pay with there life into a never ending wage slavery trap! FUCK CAPITALISM, FUCK COUNTRIES THAT CLAIM THEY'LL REACH COMMUNISM WITH AN AUTHORITARIAN GVT. They Lie! Wake up, Workers of the world unite!!!!

  • This video is simple marxist propaganda, get a life.

  • @AtlasObjectivist sps sory to inform you this IS the real world if you like it or not... maby you should pay a visit to china or a 3ed world contry you "marxis propoganda" may be very true

  • @jannikmt hey Mr. Spaceman dude - I don't think you should be commenting on what the "real world" is.

    This video is marxist propaganda.

  • @AtlasObjectivist No actually, go to a small town that used to have businesses in it but now has a wal-mart. WM controls as much as 50% of the market in certain products, A&P was never allowed to get that much market share because it screws things up. What we have is a corporate nanny state, that is being called capitalism.

  • first off its not toxic contaminated junk ur fing retarded and 2nd it probably cost more that 4.99 and 3rd its not made by 15 year olds it made by factory workers here in the us stop trying to use fear tactics to scare people in to believing u learn to realize that not every product is a horrible thing that is going to destroy the world get off ur damn high horse and grow up

  • @johny12383 psp if it has a gold lil sticker it was mad by somone 12-15 or don't you remember the carpet weaving child who was 12 anf forced to work in a carpet factory for 1 cent a capet no you know why it's made in china? he people are so dam poor they need ther children to work sort of like how it was in o what was it called the industral revolution???

this is no it's not a scare tactic IT'S REAL GD DAM LIFE OVER THER and ignorant pricks like you say they know better that just pises me of

  • holy shit what a mind blowing piece of propaganda. It totally ignores all laws of basic economics.

  • But if people just paid the true cost the effect would just be inflationary. All that would happen is that worker would get paid twice as much ( for example) but everything would cost twice as much. to produce.

  • ye dude walmarts destroying small buisnessesand walmarts making cheap products and i dont mean the price i mean its a really bad product and breaks easily

  • To be fair though $4.99 US dollar is alot of money in a third world country

  • Cheap radio will need landfill in a year or two. The cost of manuf. and quality makes it throwaway. Americans paid $50 to $100 for radios 40 years ago and parts vendors and repair technicians were kept employed. The people here are the real losers!! This country needs the technology and jobs in the states. WHAT HAPPENED TO WALMART BUYING AMERICAN WHEN POSSIBLE SLOGAN???? Walmart is like Shanghai market with "made in China" labels. Chinese buy only China products. Money into China no money out.

  • Can you imagine the life of the person drilling oil in Iraq, or the life of the person producing plastics in China, or the life of the 15 year old in Mexico if they didn't have the opportunity to build that $4.99 radio?

Americans (myself included) look at the world as if we're on the outside (which we somewhat are). Without us, the people involved in the stages of this video would be WORSE off, not better.

What would the 15 year old do if not for putting together cheap radios?

    Nothing.

  • @hossrex no he may have goten a better job or went to school or junk like hat but he should be honored to wrk for close to nothing and do it all the time ya cuzz it comes to the usa of god

  • @jannikmt: " no he may have goten a better job or went to school or junk like hat"

So you're saying he has the ability to find a better job, or go to school... but he chooses not to do those things in favor of the job where he makes cheap clothes, or cheaper electronics

    You're a moron.

  • This argument is fallacious.

One, it insists and assumes the people selling their natural resources are being exploited.

She's either ignoring or doesn't know that the wages factories pay to produce Walmart products is actually more than they would be making as a farm hand.

It assumes, that all factories therefore pollute and therefore, the people must be suffering. This is not true. It's a fallacious assumption.

  • @thehoopatribe em no in china you can get more being a gold farmer for WoW ( you may need to look up) and you get 10x as mutch working rice as for gold farming to sell on wow so no they get paid a whole hell of a lot less

  • America WAKE UP - Clinton signed trade agreement with Communist State Of China Not the american people we do not have to honeo what Clinton signed - Take back your country and Unite against companies that support communism - Watch "why Communism Fails" and get the truth of whats happening

  • Psst _ walmart is owned by the Communist China State and thats why they are doing their best to reduced living standards of the american people - Walmart are communist supporters - Walmart and the Communist State of China will like to Thank You for shopping at Walmart - Save More Live Better?

  • Oh boohoo, unconscious life and inanimate matter is being turned into useful products by way of mutually beneficial trade agreements. Paychecks AREN'T whips. Anyone who disagrees isn't worth arguing with.

  • EXACTLY RIGHT ! Inanimate matter being turned into useful products and brought about by the evil specter of the universe FREE TRADE The horror of it all. Paychecks aren't whips LOL I love it never heard that before but that is great take a bow

  • How did they forget to add American citizens taxes pay part of the merchandise cost. Check out websites about Workers Union against Wal-Mart you better understand what I am telling you. Also check out my page...

  • Actually, Hot Wheels come from Malaysia and Thailand. :)

  • fuck that bitch walmart ftw

  • Walmart is doing the following:

    providing jobs

    boost the economy

Buying materials to support the world ecomony

I know that conditions in other countries for working is horrible because of the worthless governments..but u have to look at it in a differnt way those ppl are getting money so they can live.

  • Yeah would anyone care to speculate what their lives might be without wal mart ?

  • i don't know maybe fighting in the Congo at the age of 12.... or fucking cleaning out a cows anus with there mouth as a farmhand. or washing themselves in cow piss because they cant afford a shower or bath. i could keep going if you want?

  • She thinks too hard

  • This is just a fancy way of saying that the workers are not paid correctly. All that jibber-jabber is just a distraction ot make it more eco-sounding.

  • Blah blah blahhhh! Blabber-mouths all of you!

Just say the truth! Would you buy that small green "cheap" radio if it was $100?

Of course not! I don't want to be mean, cause what she says is the truth, but nothing can or will ever change!

Cause if it does, you won't be able to buy even a coke!

  • people like is what makes humanity look dumb u need to open that brain of urs and see the possible ideas. we dont even need money.

  • Yeah sure! I'm dumb!

Oh yes, new possible ideas... hmmmm you want to try and disappear money after 7 Thousand years of existence!?!

Look how dumb that sounds eh? You make humanity look dumb! hahaha! It's like communism! I will clean the streets, and because money don't exist, i get the same goods with one that sits all day?! WOW you must be a damn brilliant and logic person! Aren't you??! Hahaha!

  • fkn pwnedd

  • my mom works at wall-mart lol

  • wal mart haters are like a fart in a hurrican!

  • I gonna boycott Walmart for the rest of my life!

  • @tastingtherainbow Lol you do realise Walmart was just used as an example - Nearly all corpoations do the same thing.

  • The sad truth is Wal-mart puts profit first before human life. Lee Scott makes an excuse for everything that walmart is accused of

  • @Realpsychichere all companies put profit, before anything. do you understand anything about the world around you?

  • Big corporations have all gone global not just wal mart, and they couldn't care less about the usa..so shut up about wal mart!

  • WALMART SUCKS.

  • finally! someone actually talks about this!

i hope this video gets millions of views, mand ppl will understand tat when we do something stupid, it effects the whole world, and the future of many.

  • Oh my god, I'll certainly have to shoot myself in the head for being an American consumer/ mother earth rapist. Next step is to genuflect to Karl Marx, yes? Yes, she's right about many things here but she still annoys the hell out of me. I guess most people do like their facts twisted as long as its served up by a smiling hitler.

I know I'll be loved for this.

  • The video deals with more than just Wal-Mart, but with the problem of CONSUMPTION, and the many ways in which our over-consuming society is hurting other, often far less visible societies. There is an odd paradox, however, in my experience: most small, independant shop owners I know are conservative Republicans, who don't know or care about what is happening in China, Bangledesh, or the coal-rich mountains of West Virginia etc. Yet, they will be ones who will go broke first cause of Wal-Mart.

  • I'm not sure "jealousy" is the issue...

Hi, I hate Wal*Mart, and I am NOT a small business owner.

I put a lot of effort into trying to fit all the problems with Wal*Mart into the comment space, but it's impossible.

I used to shop there. I thought it was great.

After watching a couple documentaries as a skeptic, I have completely changed my mind.

I've seen both sides. I suggest everyone watch "Age of Wal*Mart" and HOPEFULLY change your mind. It might mean you have an inkling of a soul.

  • Sweet mother of Merlin, why haven't I realized that earlier? Well, I did thought of kids working hard and losing their futher, but... Oh my, I never thought that cheap stuff must be like this... I feel like... "Whoa."

    ADD THE OTHER PART!

  • The great thing is that these videos are made by jealous small independent stores. They make up just about everyone who militantly fights Walmart.

Lady, the reason your radio is cheap is because they produce them in bulk in assembly lines that maximize work output and therefore allow for things to be made in a fraction of the time.

Were that radio made as a single radio and carted all around the world alone, it would cost a lot more.

  • But go ahead and over-dramatize a few incidents to make people irrationally hate Walmart anyway, despite the situation not being even half that bad, while completely ignoring all the positive things Walmart has done for the world.

Apparently, it's the only thing you guys appear good at, looking at your videos.

  • The reason that people bash Walmart is because, when a Walmart moves into a town, it shuts down a lot of the local business. This causes less jobs and a decline in the town's economy. Walmart is partly to blame for the US's economical problems (besides bad politics and war gambles).

  • The people against Walmart are 90% shop owners who are jealous cause their business went under, and therefore they seek to present absurd claims without any factual basis in order to discredit Walmart.

As I said in my response to your other post, Walmart employs many people. It also helps the economy greatly, as it provides AFFORDABLE merchandise for millions of people like myself, who can't afford to pay the outrageous sums that private shop owners demand.

  • there is more there, but YES! why do you get thumbs down??

  • Walmart has really hurt small town economies, though. When all local business is shut down by one store, you find the town's economy decline and less jobs placed for the community.

  • Walmart employs millions. I don't care what the Walmart haters claim, Walmart treats their employess very well. I have several friends who work there, and they are perfectly content with the treatment they receive.

Not to mention, Walmart hires the disabled and elderly, who can't start their own private stores.

  • Wal Mart ate my K mart!

  • First, do you really think that ALL THOSE walmart haters are small business owners?! Honestly?

Millions yes, but it´s still a LOT less than it would be without walmart.

Khm, how about telling me some of the great things Walmart has done for the world?

  • lower prices and spread out wealth, by taking wealth out of the usa and into the wallets of peoople who make $0.25 an hour

Wal-Mart scares me, but it seems that everything has 2 sides to it. Wal-mart will eventually crash, u can only get so big, also as time goes on, people buy into wal-mart, and there will evenetually be someone who buys wal-mart out.

  • cool. let others die. who really cares? i don't. if there is some a**holes working hard its fine for me

  • I never thought of it that way. This is really amazing! You should add the other part.

  • wow. I would love to see the rest of this lesson. Are you going to be posting it?

  • great video thanks!
