@downyclown you referring to Ricky? shut the hell up, why are you even on this vid if you hate him? the guys a legend!....cant say the same for you hahaha
Well if you were actually a Gervais fan, you would know that it is a reference to the last ever episode of the office (the christmas show), when he lists the insults that have been hauled at him, along with absolutely flabulous, beardy twat etc.....i am a huuuuuge Ricky fan!
@MissKateUK There were Fry and Laurie, Black Adder, Brass Eye. Those were all great, intelligent comedy since the Circus.
But I think what makes The Office unique is that it doesn't resort to a heavy doze of surrealism for absurdity. Ricky's idea of doing a true-to-life style of comic is genius, and in a way rather noble.
I don't know if you are aware of this, but Michael Palin is a self confessed fan of Ricky Gervais, and has made mention of his admiration of the chubby funster several times on several different TV Shows.
@asstudios But comparing The Office to Fawlty Towers... as honouring as that maybe, nobody wants to be compared to *the legend* of that comedy style. But it's all just good fun for them.
Dissagree. Parky gives this impression so that Ricky tells the story of the office, instead of putting words in his mouth. This is one of the reasons that Parky is one of the best interviewers of our time.
Gervais is a fucking genius. I'm shocked at how dumb journalists and what not are though at times when he's obviously being ironic. It's not fucking rocket science.
Parky seems to have got the office all wrong, saying brent has no redeeming features!?

Gervais gives the best interviews. You could have an entertaining night on his interviews alone, he's ALWAYS funny.
And genuinely funny too not just like 'preppy' funny, he's genuinely hilarious all the time. He was born for comedy.

What I love about Ricky is he's put intelligence back into comedy, something rare since the Pythons were around.

This goes out to sociology nerds.
Taking into consideration the fact that Ricky Gervais lived inside the world of The Office, could The Office tv series be a form of ethnography?
