Peri, that song blew me away, I thought it was fantastic lyrically, structurally, vocally and had a depth of feeling we really don't see often enough nowadays. OK, That's my Simon Cowell moment over, but Bravo to you! Excellent stuff!
Reminds me of a very old editorial cartoon from the 80s, an old irshman is sitting on a stump in a desolate waste land, and the caption reads " here I am the last Irshman left, and I can not remember if I am catholic or protestant" One of those profound cartoons that sticks with you for life!!!! Glad all that religious crap is over, gods cause more deaths than anything else.
If I ever make it anywhere with my music, I'm picking you up in Scotland and we're getting you the dream job you deserve to have. Always a joy to hear you Peri.
Cos this shit got on the top rated.I don't normally watch him. I thought he'd buggered off to the promised land permanently with the rest of the rats.
Peri, it's one thing to entertain us with your talent. As everyone here knows you have a deep well of it. It's another when you also inspire and that's what you do to me. You make me want to write better songs. You make me want to break out of the same old safe routine I find myself in when faced with the dreaded blank page - pen in one hand, guitar in the other. Thank you for that. (One day I might even take the scary step of posting some music myself.)
You should. It's only scary for a wee while. Then the thought of not doing it becomes even more scary. Pen in one hand, guitar in the other? That's what it is!
Go on, gimmeocean. Suck it up, and just jump. It's when you are prepared to risk every bit of your 'looking good' to say what you have to say -- to *really* be who you are -- that you allow all of us to connect with you in an extraordinarily powerful way.
And I suspect Peri will agree that it gets marginally easier with practice.
If you do it, then I'll get a webcam and tell you the story of my first ever 'jump.' Go on! I dare you ...
Holy crap! That was excellent! Outstanding emotion and energy on that one! I came home tired from work, but after that I may be up a couple more hours. Wonderful storytelling! It seems as though Peri Urban has become Peri Dylan, with a much better voice of course. Sorry Bob!
That was something special Peri...I rank it up there with the work of Pete Seeger in it's quality and clarity..."Rollin' In The Green" is the best song i've heard from you...Bravo Peri!
I especially like the vocal characteristics starting around 1:43. When it is kicked up like that, it reminds me of a little of the great Welsh vocalist Mike Peters. I would be curious how the song would sound with full band using that style vocal throughout.
simply awesome man... awesome.
