i dont get why people have to go and tell people if they are straight or gay. i never assume one is gay straight or whatever, however i can guess, but i really dont give a shit. but when you serve in the military you need to kept everything in your pant, and in your shirt, if you a girl, and fight and do what you can to support your duty. sex should not be discussed in the military there is more important things to discuss.

I don't know why people are making such a HUGE deal about this. This policy being repealed doesn't change anything for straight soldiers serving in the military. Really the only thing being repealed is the "don't tell" part. "Don't ask" is still in effect.

I don't know why people are making such a HUGE deal about this. This policy being repealed doesn't change anything for straight soldiers serving in the military. Really the only thing being repealed is the "don't tell" part. "Don't ask" is still in effect.

The uproar over gays in the military is identical to that over blacks early last century. Back then, the concern was that it would disrupt the platoon's morale and for a time it did, but only because of the residual ignorance about black people. They soon got used to it, and everybody got over it.
The same will happen with gays in the military, just as it has with the rest of society, most of whom have accepted that gay =/= unrestrained rapist of men. Your assholes are safe, gents.
