My D07 is the worst vac I have ever owned. Plasticy, fragile, wierd hose design which means it falls over all the time, and the other day just stopped working.
I'll get my old Hoover Junior out the garage - she's been going for 15 years!!
if u want excellent filtration i suggest a numatic or henry numatic is the professional which im thinking of getting as apparently they have excellent filters but arent bagless, u shud look at the smaller dysons ie stoaways if u want it to pick up dirt where u cnt neway feel happy that u never made the mistake of getting a vax animal cylinder it stays on for 1o mins then the filter needs cleaning and shuts down and u cn only put it on after 30 mins and that even on the lowest power hope it helps
we have one of those in the facility that I clean at, it is an EXCELLENT choice AND it costs as much as a Dyson or less and they warrenty the body of those for 10 years if I remember correctly and it is truley a British vacuum not like the Dyson which is made in Malaysia
but neway back to the point i got one from someone i knew for 5 pounds dnt ask long story my other hoovers (crap company) vac broke and until i cud afford to get a new one i used an old dyson 04 model its excellent for pick up and lifts up the carpet i dont even have to clean the filter altho i will start to (my vax was a pile of dog doodle)
i always thought dysons were just the name and a big brand that was overhyped and over priced ok maybe they r a tidgy over priced but i read a review on the internet on vacs and what to look for (i know im sad lol) u gotta spend over 100 to get a decent 1,
Try a Rainbow Vac it doesnt lose suction like the 3 filters on the Dyson and put a light near the exhaust on the dyson when using it and see what comes out....
I went from a Nilfisk to a Dyson, the Dyson is better, much better suction which translates to more dirt/dust picked up. BTW have just tried the "Handfull of Uncooked Rice Test", the Dyson picked up every bit of the rice no problem. Fo me the proof is in it's use, it does a great job of vacuming.
I own a vacuum cleaner shop and Dyson is the last vacuum cleaner I would recommend to a customer to buy.
1200 w no agitator to get the imbedded deep down dirt out of the carpet.
I get at least 2 Dyson's less than 3 years old every week as trade ins, because they dont do the job.
Hoover uprights are the best for dirt removal on carpets, also Wertheim with a powerhead will pick up at least 35% more dirt than the most expensive Dyson. For hard floors, even a broom will do the job.
I have an Animal. It doesn't have a carpet hight adjustment and therefore, tears up shag. The wheels have "wells" around them that stick out and scratch furniture and just recently tore a bed skirt. The telescoping handle gets cauht up in the corrugated hose and you have to "fight like hell" to get the thing to release. Buy a Kirby or another long-standing brand name. This one isn't worth it's production costs.
@Ginalollypop You're using it wrong dude or you have a lemon because I've used numerous Dysons - all have EFFORTLESS hose release and clean BRILLIANTLY!
Also, the Dyson DC07, 14, and 15 do not have the best design, so they are used as examples in the majority of anti-Dyson propaganda. Put it this way: When have you seen a YouTube video showing how "poorly" the DC17 or 21 performs?
and I have personally tried out a Dyson that one that's like $580 in Sears wasn't too impressed with it it's the redesigned Animal so don't think I haven't done my homework
I will agree that it has more power than some vacuums but not impressive at nearly $600 cause I have a $300 Riccar that will out perform that Dyson anyday
everyone hatin on dysons prob just cant afford one,i have two and there the best vacuums, they sound like fuckin jet engines when they turn on and clean fukin everything like new.
you are right but the head is so big, you can't vacuum well... under beds, the couch. so you have to buy the acessory and you find yourself using the accesory head all of the time instead of the vacuum head itself... bad design.
hehehe !!! it was a gift i receive from air canada for being such a good customer !!! this piece of carpet was in the basement of my girlfriend basement, in my appartement now, i have no carpet at all !!! but this vacuum cleaner is really not good at all. sure it suck everything, but the head is so big you can't get it under the couch or under the bed... and at this price, you should really buy yourself something else ! my next video on dyson crap is about to come. Cheers !!!
i agree, it is too big to fit under a bed or a couch. but i haven't seen a vacuum that comes with a standard body small enough for that anyway. you must not have the low profile attachment. i have this vacuum and it's the greatest thing ever.. i can go over my rug all night and it never stops picking stuff up.
yes i have the low profile attachement and i find myself using only this... funny thig is that i should use tht vacuum head most of the time however it's not the case. the new dyson can go under the couch because the head is as the accesoire you by for the dco7.
You can buy a $400 COMMERCIAL GRADE Simplicity or Riccar with metal bottom plates, brushroll, handle and onboard attachments or a crappy piece of plastic that is hyped up beyond belief on HSN, QVC, TV commercials, even once on Opra for cripes sakes
Thank you OKsoreV82!!!If people are goinmg to pay that much money they should invest in a kirby vacuum or filter queen, royal, sanitaire or lindhause.I paid 500.00 for my royal metal commercial uprigt vacuum.compare that to a leaky piece of plastic.
Dyson really is junk I called Dyson asked them how many cubic feet of air per minute (cfm) the DC07 produced they told my 58!!! Hoover Wind Tunnel II was 97 cfm!!! And the Dyson is $400 Hoover? $259 at Wal Mart!
I work at a vacuum store, I sell, repair, and rebuild vacuums. I am also the warrenty center for Dyson. If you want to buy a $400-$600 piece of PLASTIC, be my guest. Look at the facts people. You're not buying a vacuum, you are paying for all the tv air time, all of the signs, and all the other BS that is put out for you to look at. When you buy a vacuum, do your homework! Look at other brands, like Simplicity, Riccarr, Sebo, and Miele. Friendly advice from a CERTIFIED dyson tech, and sales rep!
THANK YOU, me and my brother own 3 retail vacuum stores in ontario canada, and the dyson is the biggest peice of crap on the market, if only people would listen to people who know what there talking about and not this guy. u want a peice of junk plastic vacuum, well be my guest but its a waste of money
Dyson is crap I called the company and found out how much power it really has, it only has 58cfm, a Hoover Windtunnel II has 97!!! the Dyson is $400, the Hoover is $259 at Walmart! Don't try to tell me that the Dyson is good I have done an aweful lot of research on those machines and have found out you can buy a commercial grade Riccar for the price of that piece of crap
right sir i happen to know that the DC07 is a fine machine you just cannot get your head around great british engineering and any further negativity towards the Dyson Company please contact me first! good day.
Yes, you are correct, Engineered & designed by British design graduates & engineers in England and manufactured in Maylasia, so you can read, well done!!
well Mr CP productions, how long have you been in the vacuum industry. Myself , its 30 years. In that time I have repaired over half a million machines. Hmmm , who to beleive?
Facewatcher, Dyson have been around for approx. 10 years originally with a 2 year warranty, so in the last 10 years you may have repaired a lot of them so what!! They now come with a 5 year warranty, if they do break where's the prob, it's covered under the warranty!!!
my bud is a dyson warranty station, hasnt been paid by dyson in 4 months. Also , why has every dyson in the country had the label removed saying, the only machine that never looses suction,. Biggest scam ever on the public.
this technology nothing new Fantom the mother company of Dyson was the first to use this technology. Filter Queen in 1935 used this technology so "first" and "only" vacuum to not lose suction are immediately thrown out. And I called the Dyson company asked about the DC07 the most popular one, asked how much power it has they told me it only has 58 cfm, a $250 Hoover Windtunnel 2 has 97 what does that tell you?
Actually Fantom was not the first recipient of Dyson technology, the first was the Zanussi-made "Cyclon" upright in 1983, followed by the SC Johnson Wax "Vectron" in 1989 (which resembled the Fantom Thunder). After THOSE came the Fantom. BTW the Filter Queen has a filter that clogs, 'nuff said.
no, it's cyclonic action like the Dyson and if you have ever looked at a Filter Queen filter you would wonder how even air could get through it but it still manages to do it. My friends mom has a Filter Queen from the 60's stil works that thing can be filled up beyond capacity and it still works like it has a new filter cone in it. but whatever besides that the Dyson is still a rip off
Any manufacturer can claim "cyclonic action", but the question is, can it work on cyclonic action ALONE? What would happen if you were to remove the filter from your Filter Queen and vacuum up fine dust? It would blow it out the machine. Though I wouldn't recommend it, you CAN use the Dyson without the pre-motor filter in place. I've done it before...
most of the fine dust will ingress into the motor bearing and cause major problems in time.also any dust that gets "blown out of the machine" a you put it is rubbish because the post filter will collect it,clog and then cause the motor to overheat and cut out,the filters are there for a reason..in my opinion as a dyson engineer 99% of the people who complain about the Dyson`s performance are usually the people who do not follow the manufacturers guidlines and use the machine incorrectly.

We have an older Dual Cyclone dyson, the DC04, but soon will invest in a DC20 Animal - £299.99! I've used my brother DC08 Animal and it's awe-inspiring!
