  • Just keep to tenors your snare grip was. Well. Bad

  • lovin' the group name, but shouldn't your names be Chris and Martin then?

  • watch dartmouth high school and then bash on matched grip on snare.....

  • holy shit lol thats good. i play quads myself

  • Tools.

  • safri duo?

  • Wow, that's some real talent! Definite props for that performance.

  • the kid who ended up playing snare had much better tenor technique than the other guy, but nice solos at the beginnzing

  • dude they look like friken clones any one else c that and nice ass drumin

  • anyone think the girl in the beginning was hot? lol

  • there,s nothing wrong with matched. its better if any thing becuase you gett a better sound out of your left hand. even know it looks cool, there's not a big need for it. so stop bashing these people about match grip.

  • @deanskis thats cause its on vid, in actuality they don't, we switched to dynasty, the bigger set, all they are playing is out usual school cadences, nothing very original, they were just screwing around it was many years ago, before i was even in highschool and on the line

  • The style of grip a drumline uses should be decided on either how they were taught or what they can play with better. For snare I prefer traditional but there's nothing wrong with using matched.

  • real gay in the beginning but turned out to be cool

  • my high school has the same tenors

  • match is for pussies

  • he probably played matched on the snare because he has to play matched on tenors

  • lazer tits

  • another thing morons cant do right

  • MORMONS!

  • is that snare a yamaha SFZ?

  • whats the name of cadence at 4:40 i cant rember :/

  • it's called t.b.a. don't ask me what it stands for

  • not trying to hate, but match grip looks retarted on snare.

  • you can tell he doesn't play snare a lot

    because he doesn't use traditional

or some marching bands use match grip no clue why they just do.

going quads to snare is easy because u know some beats and rudiments just take away multiple drums

from snare to quads is f -ing hard

    yes it does look retarded

  • maybe its just him lol

  • Im the guy that played snare in this video.... you hit it right on the money kjac18, our tech was a quad player and did not know traditional, and our snares played quite clean with matched grip. People can bash matched all they want, but our line was taught that way, so thats what we played

  • Caesar likes Dick

  • this shit fucking awsome

  • u could tell that wasn't planed out very well, but it was cood

  • A mormon variety show? What the fuck?

  • our youth group had a variety show its not something unheard of....

  • Im the guy that played the quads on the right... thanks to everyone for the nice comments and for encouragement. negative comments arent really productive but if it makes you feel better about yourself its ok with me. I dont really drum anymore and I know Im not an absolutely outstanding drummer but I had a lot of fun back in high school so thats good enough for me :-)

  • are you really that guy??? I go to sycamore and I played in the marching band this year. what year did you graduate?

  • Small quads dude

  • If i played what they did at a school talent show i would embarrass myself to unimaginable extents

  • you flamers piss me off....just because you don't like the fact they are wearing sun glasses or playing matched grip, doesn't mean that drumming is gay...seriously guys just play, don't hate

  • That just means you guys play tenors and are pretty good at it.

  • since when are glasses gay :S

  • eww match grip....

  • Yall are good but the glasses are gay

  • very cool!

  • alright lets see you do better you fucking prick.

  • besides slight lack of technique it is pretty good. just speaking from 3 years of DCI...keep playing guys

  • guy with dark hair is way better then the other guy he barley looks down at the drums

  • kinda boring

  • the glasses are really gay

  • youre really gay

  • omg, those two SWEAT LAMENESS!!!!!

  • u guys are are awsome i wish i was like you !

  • lol take off theyre leather jackets for band drumming?

  • i hope these guys got 1st place that was so cool

  • PLAY DIDDY!!!!!!!

  • hey i play quads for my drill team but we use flexes

  • nice job.. watch the shoulders and playing zones. The tenor player on the right - watch your little fingers on those sweeps. You're letting go a little bit :D.. otherwise, excellent.

  • Hey man, watch your key stroking and handzones on the keyboard and the hand on the right-watch your little finger, your letting it slip on those C's and M's :D..otherwiese, exellent.

    ...everyone's a critic.

  • I said it was excellent..and nice job. Where was I insulting anyonme?

  • Guy on left tenor is like ten times better and confident. the other wont look away from his sticks...and i hate match on snare...sloppy

  • Thats because the guy on the left has marched tenors for 3 or 4 years of High school, and is now on Miami's drumline, and the guy on the right plays snare. And our drumline has now switched to trad!

  • lol im the drummer on the right and yes my buddy is MUCH better than me at quads but i thought i might get props if i let you know that i never marched quads. I marched snare and I'm sorry if you dont like matched grip and neither do I... but our line played matched and since that is what I had to play, I was better at that than traditional

  • @Intoxdrummer07

Clearly there was a difference of abilities. As far as playing matched on snare... do what you gotta do. If you're a tenor your not gonna probably have the chops to play traditional. Especially not that young.

I just don't like when there is no creativity. The piece was overall pretty simple and straight forward. Ripped off music from Blue Devils' "Hey Dick" cadence. Take an extra day and write and play something thats actually your own.

  • that was kick ass guys grate job

  • U guys soound amazin....where are u from and it sound like in the beginning like a siq ass cadence!!!!!

  • Very nice boys! My son plays quad too! He also plays set. Come to my page and see him getting ready for his talant show next week.

  • mormons lol

  • thats wat i was thinkin!

  • good catch when the tenors tipped. ;)

    sounds good

  • this is pretty kool

  • awesome

  • Im LDS, my friend aaron is not. it was a stake variety show. i played a quad solo at efy last summer but the guy that filmed it failed to post it on youtube which sucks because it was pretty sick.

  • Are You Guys LDS?

  • was this a stake one or efy?

  • Pretty cool

  • good stuff

  • Good Job Guys! Very impressive.

  • heard she looked like a turtle =)

  • it was quite funny/cool how quick she recovered

  • whos this? were you at bens party?

  • oh hey whats up....i heard a tuba player fell over lol ill get more details from ben today

  • ya, have you seen the show yet? if so, its the spot where we are going to arcs in the 3rd movement. luckily she got up really quickly

  • Sup Dan

  • also, ben i saw the pictures from your party. bet the pop can pyramid was fun

  • hot damn, st. louis was crazy fun. and the party was great, 105 cans!(im Dan Keith in those pictures)!!!

  • how is it in....ST. Louis is it?

  • pretty good worst finale ever though... "hey lets impress them with our behind the back moves and clean rolls!" "ok! how should we end the show?" "how else? a really lame sixteenth note rhythm!"

  • still a good show

  • haha actually thats the first constructive criticism weve gotten it makes sense though.

  • what is constructive criticism here?

  • i think he's talking about what jesson the run said about amatuer techs

  • ya, except it was totally dissing our techs, who were not the worst we could have had!

  • true

  • hey i know ben in real life dude they're both awesome. ben's one of the coolest guys i know. both really good at drums too.

  • two dorks with horrible quality of sound. i would let em carry pit equipment in my line, but absolutely not allow to play. this is amateur.

  • thanks jerk haha. more like two guys with horrible quality drums. we just got new drums this year actually. i like it how you refer to your line as if you own it?... who do you play for some high school? lets see your video????

  • Try percussion caption head and arranger. But you can see me playing...all you need to do is put Blue Devils 88, 89 /cadets of bergen county 1990 into the search field and hit "search". there you sample my ability.

  • well, Aaron (Not Bob Bob Law) is a freshman at Miami, OH, and made the tenor line there. and Ben(Bob Bob Law) played snare for 3 years in our high school marching band and now plays sousaphone because of matters beyond his control. and both are amazing drummers, and neither are "dorks"

  • What a bunch of horseshit. Quality of sound has little to do with the drums themselves and more about the approach to the drum, listening and cleanliness. Shit, VK in 95 had excellent quality of sound and they had 10 year old drums patched together with bolts and duct tape. Perhaps your boys dont know how to tune them either. LOL

  • our drums are patched together with duct tape and jacked up bolts. every competition we go out to, at least one tenor head breaks(and these are 7 years old BTW). and they don't tune them, our directors leave the tuning to our techs.

  • you should get rid of the amateur "techs" and get some professionals...equipment maintenence is a quarter of mastering the instrument...sounds like your band director is more like a control freak band dictator.

  • we did. we dropped both of our percussion techs and got new ones. 2 of which have been on our line before, and 1 who has not(to my knowledge) and we tune our drums better now

  • lol the sousaphone katie told me he played tuba

  • which sousa katie? we have no sousa named katie(i am on the sousa line)

  • no uh...ben's my sisters bf thats how i know him.

  • the line got new drums this year actually.

  • ooooo! you just got smoked

  • nice

  • only Ben is mormon, but yes they are both very talented. they play on our school drumline, aaron plays in winter drumline also and ben plays hockey. aaron is a senior and ben is a junior. i hope you enjoy this, and if you like stuff like this, come to the MEPA drumline competition in dayton this saturday? maybe sunday. it will be awesome, and these two represent Sycamore Drumline!

  • Wow I ll be darned , they are really quite talented young mormons.
