  • The issue is not the her feet will go numb.. the issue if the vena cava and aorta are compressed by weight of baby and uterus/placenta/fluid is that the baby's heart rate will drop due to loss of blood circulation, and mom will get dizzy and feel anxious before she goes unconscious along with baby! WATCH Mastering Pregnancy Massage dvd to get accurate info at touchforbirth

  • THAT WOMENS READY TO POP!!!!

  • **Sandwich the foot*

    That sounds so wrong

  • junk

  • GYAH!!!! I'm worried for the mother!

She shouldn't be on her back. She should be on her side with wedge pillows supporting the bump. Don't copy this!!

  • this video should be removed. if someone follows this videos advice it could severely injure the mother.

  • wow they need not to be licensed or certified. improper improper improper!! no wonder they are breaking the real therapist pockets with all of these tests and licensure because of crap like this. it's unfortunate and they just look and sound un-educated.

  • You freaking weirdo

  • somebody has a fetish....

  • Ahhh! She'd might as well ask Jose to go ahead and put pressure on her carotid artieries! This video is incorrect and dangerous, as already stated.

Laying a pregnant woman on her back is going to put immense pressure on major arteries of the body, the vena cava being one of them. Side posture and a semi-reclined position are much better to use.

Please, no one repeat what this video is demonstrating. It should be taken down!!!

  • hey stupid when your massaging woman who's that far long you need to put her on her side or provide back support or pretty soon her feet will go numb as the expanded uterus puts pressure on her arteries.

  • Interesting to read all the comments, but: WHY is so dangerous? How can i cause an abortion by pressing some points on the foot? And what is the problem to lay on the back? I'm for the first time pregnant and read some books, but thought getting a massage is perfect for my swollen legs. Do you have more explanation on the reason for the statements or a helpful link? Thank you!

  • Forgive my bad English...

From all I read here, I suppose that being laid on the back causes damages on the back of the mother, beacause the baby is, from the second trimester, to heavy.

And pressure points on the foot are recognized by every doctors : To massage them without knowing how to do can cause early labor.

This video is old, and medical searches proved that it's an exemple of what a mother to be shouldn't do.

  • This is true, but I will say that during the 2nd trimester she is able to be on her back for UP TO ten minutes. I am certified in pregnancy massage myself, and its very clear that she is in her third trimester, when the baby is just to significantly big to have the mother on her back. She must be semi-reclined, or side lying.

  • I agree with all of you I only hope that nobody trys this at home I am currently enrolled to recieve my H.H.P. at Mueller and I will be Certified in pregnancy massage in January. Yet I still know that the mother should never lie flat on her back, anyone that has been pregnant knows that. Let alone during a massage when circulation is increased!!!

  • OMG How dangerous is this massage!!! The pregnant lady should ideally lie on her left side on a beanbag and be massaged by a qualified PREGNANCY masseuse, which clearly these people aren't so I agree, this video should be taken down!!!

Pregnant ladies, contact a well-known brand that specialise their masseurs and certificate them. I prefer Elemis and E'spa pregnancy massages.

  • jose jimenez, i am astronaut.

  • I am a licensed prenatal massage specialist who has worked on over 7,000 moms and babies. Those above who commented that this position is a dangerous one are correct. This gal obviously has not had adaquate pregnancy training and although her heart is in the right place, she is placing the mom and baby in jeopardy. The flat positioning cuts off blood supply and oxygen to the fetus. Mom should be in a semi-reclining or side-lying position.

  • I absolutely agree with you. We have specialized in pregnancy massage in Orange County, California for over 17 years. This gal should take this video down until she learns how to offer SAFE prenatal massage!!

  • not a great video!! dangerous actually... hope people out there do NOT use this as a technique or positioning the client on her BACK!! get some proper education and dont harm your clients!

  • I don´t think its comfortable for very pregnant women to be lying down flat as their uterus get very heavy. So elevate the upper body or lay down on your side to guarantee adequate blood flow and facilitate breathing.

  • Oh brother...

  • For those of you who attempt doing this, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when doing this. There are points on the leg, foot and hand, accupunture points that if pressed will cause abortion. There are a total of 4 points SP4(foot) and SP6(leg), ST36(Tibia close to the knee) and LI4 (hand)

  • reeree212 my sister did that to me... shes now pregnant.... NO WAY!

  • hdsfsdf dfd

  • LOL 'thats great jose'

  • lol that makes me laugh everytime

  • foot massage on a near term pregnant woman can induce labor!..proceed with caution!

  • Yeah, because the pressure point for the uterus is on the ankle.

  • soooo wrong! hope mom & baby are ok!

  • bad position for mother to be in poor instructor for pregancy possbile harm baby

  • this is the wrong postion for the mother to be in for the term of her pregancy and could cause damage to mothr and baby...

  • the nerve in her back u r so right, that is wrong for her

  • lol nice paint job..

  • that was.. actually disgusting.
