Thank you so much for all the support means the world to me.. It was the place i grew up in and i will miss it so much.Theres not much we can do anymore, but you still have to fight for what you believe in and always remember the special memories (good or Bad) that we made at this track. I will always remember this track as my home, even though i am young i am so glad i got to call it home. It will be missed and i hope everyone keeps spreading the word and always remembers KCIR. :) thanks guys!
Thanks to KC 5th district's Cindy Circo, Christine Kemper, Senator Claire McCaskill and Mayor Sly James, KCIR has been bought out to make a park. Funny thing is the city now claims they have no money to build said park after acquiring the land from KCIR. It's clear the city just wanted to get rid of KCIR for 2 reasons....so the adjacent neighbors (who moved there after the track opened) would stop bitching to city hall about the noise, and so Sen. McCaskill could sell her land next to the track
I'm mad ass hell about this situation and all they did was promote street racing. The only thing I can suggest is for people to go to city hall, protest and work a way to make a track elsewhere. (In Kansas City)
@Aztech355 The problem is they most likely will not make a track elsewhere. The city clearly was tired of people who lived around the track, and who bought their homes near the track, after the track was opened, coming to city hall to bitch about the noise.
I heard awhile back there was going to be a race track near the airport, but what happened? People that aren't into racing don't give a shit but racing is a hobby just like anything else. What is the point of selling cars that exceed over 70mph and don't have anywhere to get your moneys worth? (Shakes head)
@Aztech355 I don't know what happened as to why the track wasn't put near the airport. You are right those not into racing do not care, in fact they're probably wondering "why do you need to drive so fast?" Now they'll be wondering "why must you drive so fast up city streets putting everyone elses lives at risk?"
I am so glad that I don't have any usage limits! In this difficult time I just keep reaching back to watch this vid to keep me reminded of what we are fighting for! I can't say enough good about this vid or can't express my appreciation for Shelby's effort enough!
@partmyth thank you so much means alot to me! i really want to put together a history of KCIR video i just need some old footage back from the 60's-90's it would be cool to make a project like that for all the fans. This track is our home! and everyones support means alot, we all are fighting for something we truely love!
well done. I have been going there since 1971; it is like a part of my family. It's too bad that Chicago style politics loom over the fate of something that is so dear to us. Thank you for posting!

I hear and I hope that people don't give up on having another track available or there will be a lot of street racing going on.
