  • He has some dope ass kicks on in ths video, i got a pair super cheap by using this discount code "STAYFRESH2" and got 20% off from Karmaloop, Google it!

  • one reason y rap is not completely dead yet

  • god bless the man

  • Fuck NWO!

  • I like his old shit better still.

    Can I Borrow Dolla?

    haha

  • If you not from the Chi..... just shut up!

  • asshole !!

  • if you guys dont like it why do you comment?

  • Man I'm reading these comments and it's killing me this song by Common is sick, as an artist you do not want to keep doing the same shit over and over that's like you eating the same shit every night after awhile your going to want something new. Change is good if it's done right but don't forget your roots. As far as Hip Hop being dead that's not true its just we're not able to here a lot of other rap genres because of radio stations and major record labels and also non versatile rap heads.

  • I feel you 100%

  • Ya Universal mind control right u ain't gonna control me bitches cuz i no longer hate anymore.Plzz love and respect each other we are all equal we are all strong.there mind control is to scare you until u can't do anything and then they will swoop up and save your ass,and the worst part is that they implanted that fear in u unit in a non violent way love respect all we are all the same. Also i rather keep my soul instead of selling out for money.

  • wow, 90s common is dead... his new millenium surrogate is in control... ah well, freedom of expression right...

  • its a modern day Planet Rock homeboy check the track record go kick rocks if you don't respect the art

  • i guess i'm just used to a particular "common" sound... common is genius lyrically, its those clever rhymes i feel personally... it just feels like he's not trying you know...? But if this is the tip he's on, he's on it right... hehe, yes, i do acknowledge that it's art though, and Hype is legend...

  • Common got Talent...... God Bless the man!

  • Yall trippin, this shit is hard not gonna lie lol. Hip hop is not all about serious shit built for the mind, come on people. If you're gonna try to define what hiphop suppose 2 sound like through a song at least get the definition right

  • GAY WHERES THE REAL COMMON?

  • agreed

  • YAH

It's sad seein Common goin from "I Used To Love H.E.R." to this bullcrap

  • Your fucking stupid...... God Bless your sould bc you need it !!!

  • This is not bull crap...... if your a true hip hop fan then you would appreciate the fuckin lyriics..... fuckin fool.

  • This song is more about the beat....... Why you hateing on Common? Dude has a few Classics on his resume... better then me or yourself. So why you talk shit? God Bless the man..... he doing what he got to do.

  • oh it's not about the lyrics now huh

where's that real hip hop u were talkin bout

ur sayin it's all about the beat huh ...yeah rite

    look who's talkin

listen u hypocrite, SHUT THE HELL UP

i like common, u love common let's just leave it to that

    my previous opinion still stands

  • Shut the hell up? F you!!!! I feel your point, but listen, times change. He cant put out the same album every time... got to change things up and this track is not bad. It has an old school House beat..... this shit use to play in Chicago all the time! Guess you dont understand........

  • Hiphop can't die because it's a concept and philosophy. It will always exist. Just because the rap music that spreads a message isn't spotlighted on mainstream media right now doesn't mean Hiphop is dead. It's a choice to make music. As time changes all things change. I believe the sound and message of Rap will change. What do you think it will become? A song that's only 1 drum hit and that's it?!

  • Universal mind control is a perfect name for common's new album, because he has been brainwashed into making shitty hip hop like the rest of the cookie cutter crap out there. It's too bad because he was my favorite artist.

    R.I.P Common and hip hop

  • I'm not saying that your completely wrong but isn't just about the music and right now the economy sucks.

  • lol. i hope common will turn back to his roots. finding forever was a kickass album

  • Don't say that........ your wrong!

  • his songs are great, its just lil wayne killed rap

  • lil wayne did kill rap, im glad other people besides me are callin it like they see it

  • what happened to common?

  • all the people hating on this just because it sounds mainstream...youre ignorant and dont get it. Listen to what pharrell says in the beginning of the song...look at the title...combine that with the lyrics...Com is still and will always be a real rhymer, he's just HUSTLING FOR MATHEMATICS, can't blame him for that, we all gotta provide.

  • shits wack

    coming from a common supporter

    r.i.p hip hop

  • rest in peace hip hop, what the fuck??

  • Common...I thought it was about "The People" ...

  • My thoughts exactly..."this is au-to-matic"...WAAAAAACK!...he should have listened to I Used To Love HER again and then threw this wack ass beat in the bin and got some real beats...very dissapointing.

  • I totally agree, come on this is like a tragedy, with all respect, but what a fall from " i used to love H.E.R" - in my opinion it's the greatest hip hop track.

  • fuck you

  • hahaha...well thought out response...no wonder you took ofence to me saying this track is wack...Ladies and gentlemen, head over to Ov3rkill Studios page and you will see that he/she is some sort of robot fetishist lmfao...thats why you like this video aint it..what with all the scantily clad robots...Im onto you, you strange earthling...hahahaha.

  • I totally get the whole "Making songs to express a message" thing, and I like that. But I dont feel like decoding a song every waking moment of my existence, and neither do artists. Sometimes you just wanna jam. Just because an artist isnt a derogatory, degrading idiot that only talks about money and women in the most disgusting way (i.e. Lil Wayne), doesnt mean they have to be a philosophical genius in every song. By the way, I think this song is tight.

  • damn strait

    xD

  • What de FFUUCCKK happen to my boy Common yo?! I listened this shit a couple times hoping that it had some satire or double meaning. trhat he was poking fun at this shit but he's over to that side.

  • other side? He is sampling a beat from Afrikan Bambaataa! one of the leading groups of hip hop

  • Firstly, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA was not a group, that was his name..The Soulsonic Force was his group and secondly, so what if this samples him?...doesnt get away from it being trash..Ciara, Xscape & DJ Khaled also sampled him but dont mean they aint wack as hell...this sucks by Common..Id be suprised if he even liked it himself and didnt just bring it out to please the masses who like watered down pop beats and weak lyrics!

  • I feel you on every level, but at the same time, maybe the double meaning is that we always expect one thing of him as an artist, wich is to come with some political side and maybe he just felt like switchin it up. Maybe he liked the music and thats just what he felt.

  • mk mind control-c.i.a

  • love the architctural graphics!!!

    what program does Hype use??????????

  • Hmm like the old common more..... but still he is better than.. t-pain, souldja & lil wayne... everybody knows that for sure!

  • Good evolution, in my memory common old school.

  • how is this a diss to t-pain and soulja boy?

  • T-Pain is a scrub

  • get get it!!!!!!!!

  • this is a sick track give common a break and diss on soulja bitch or tpain for there shitty tracks

  • ''Hamansutra Rock It, Coochies Pop It, Movie Watch It, Booties Drop it, Body Move it, Showin Groovin - Stylin and Being Fly. ''

the things common is telling you to do in this song is the exact same methods ''masons'' use to brainwash and distract the ppl, you guys heard him,

  • illuminati~!

  • notice a few references to 666 in the video - also pharrel is promoting the robot agenda which dehumanizes people to each other - also KRS ONE has a new song ROBOT with Buckshot - it's crap and evil.

  • urretarted

  • oh no no no! - anyone who doesn't have the attention span long enough to properly spell out "you're retarded" - ... is the obviously retarded.... sorry bro - like it or not - COMMON SOLD OUT!

  • i love you

  • how? what makes him selling out? you're so in tune with the music industry, eh? idiot. common used to be the best rapper that wasn't gettin' paid. Jay-Z quote. Now he's big and you babies are whining that he has sold out. You cunts bitch if you hear his song on a commercial. he can't get paid while maintaining his artistic credibilitiy?

  • Just about everything has a demonic influence.

  • Common wanted to make a club banger and its just not his style. He sounds so old school. But the beat alone makes this song good.

  • WAAAAAAAAAY sick... hot vid too!!! Sounds like it was influenced by Afrikka Bambatta's Planet Rock to an extent.

  • well excuse me...

  • umm... technically it's not a ripped off if Afrika Bambaataa signed off on it. He specifically states that UMC is built on Planet Rock, and Afrika gave it an official wave.

This was not meant to be a club banger, but an homage to the history of hip-hop, and to the man who gave it the name hip-hop.

  • the lyrics are sick. your just slow

  • it could be a better song with different lyrics

  • 2:26 it spells out NWO

but we ain't going out like that!!!

  • well spotted! So Common is a sellout too!

  • Different from what Common doe's , but i like it . . .

  • love the beat, but thats about it

  • real music

  • is that buck65 saying dang didadang shit?

  • God no.

  • amazing songg =]

  • Its crazy, because the righteous ones are communicating to you all on a subconscious level and trying to awaken your minds. The Illuminati runs the world, but for how long is up to us. We need not focus on jewels, sex, & other obsolete stuff the Gov. wants us distracted by reality tv shows, work, bills, etc. why they run the world, we are slaves, we are not free, until we stand up & fight. The real war is between us and the U.S. Government. Fuk the New World Order. Energy is Free & so r we

  • can u say psyco

  • psycho...dumb ass

  • ditto!!! fuk the New World Order! I aint going out like that!!

  • aye morpheus this ain't the matrix

  • it is the matrix you dumb ass sheep.

  • just tooo crazy.

  • this video sucked, for such a hype song to have such a boring video. There should have been poppers, lockers, or even something to do with MIND CONTROL, I mean what is that graphic that they are flying thru? a slug? whats with the robot head? Why is Common suddenly a scientist in some scenes? Hype Williams is over hyped on special effects.

  • Shut up and dance!

  • come on guys. common has put out so many albums with a "message", you got to give him at least a few tracks to have fun with. you know, even the most hard core hip hop artist puts out a track that you can dance to.

ALSO, if you listen to the lyrics, its just a barrage of how great he personally is, which is vintage hip hop. back in the day you either rap about how good you are or how hard life was. he is talking about how fresh he is. sounds hip hop to me. especially sampling afrika bambaataa.

  • crap quality, watch the 1 from common's channel

  • I like that the fact that common is trying something different but not to far out there. The album didn't sound like that trash album the electric circus, now that was a poor attempt at trying something different.

  • I prefer COmmon before Finding Forever but this aint too bad. PRops

  • Major props to Common for pushin the envelope and not follow the so called "Common Denominator" in Hip-Hop!

  • I agree. This is so not Common. And I love the Brother!!

  • Wow....if people only knew the real meaning of this song...lol....its real mind control for the new world order

  • Yeah I hear you about the New World Order thing, it's so interesting....Common used to be so conscious but I guess 'they' got to him. Who know's, most of these artist don't have that much creative freedom anyways.

  • maybe the song still has like a meaning in it u know?

    it is common after all

  • Perhaps....many of these songs usually have double meanings in them.

  • I hustle for mathematics

  • What I want to know is this: Why did Hype Williams a talented producer turn Pharell Williams a stylish guy into a robot? I just don't get the point.

  • it was pharrells own idea

  • I LOVE THIS

  • common this aint you

  • im not mad at common for doing this song. just another form of hip hop...props to him

  • I think what he tried to do was restore the hip hop that Afrika Bambaataa popularized (Planet Rock, Looking For a Perfect Beat). The era in the 80s where men "actually" danced. I do remember him saying on 106 & Park "It's for the breakdancers", since he does breakdance real good.

Why is it that he can't do this style without others criticizing him? It's kind of like saying that "Planet Rock" isn't real hip hop.

  • firzt time i hear this i heard cuz t pain was playin n i like the beep so hah i got it

  • to everyone talkin shit about common doing this song: props to common for having the talent to branch into other styles and remain successful.

  • I don't know why all the hatin "pensarefare", you mean to tell me that an artist can't change it up without selling out. Maybe common thought it was cool and had the video planned out the whole time.. cuz it is. Just because a lot of people like it and its different doesn't make him a sell out. Besides, if you want to record music you gotta have money, maybe it was just a plan to keep the music going.

  • C'mon Common real hiphop ain't dead

You don't need to change your style

You were great Stick to your origins!

Good on you for mind control topic, though

  • Common didn't sell out, he can't do one promotional dance song? He still speaks how he always does, even vocabulary in this song is still top notch. People need to calm down, nothing is wrong with this. But would I choose it over his other songs? Probably not..

  • We need to stop trying to keep people in a box. Just because someone doesn't keep doing the same thing doesn't mean he's becoming anything. People grow and change and their outlooks and experiences are different.

Geez people, crabs in a pot...

  • thts tru BUt BAck in the DAy Common WAS THE SHIT!!

  • planet rock beat ain't dead!!!!

  • common doesn't look like a pop star in this video. seems like he's there randomly...

  • This beat is sauce

  • Nobody is original anymore!!! That beat is old school.

  • lol @ everybody who think they know whats best for somebody else.. gotta break a few eggs 2 make an omelette

  • Come on people, it is all The same shit. they are marketing our doom. people listen. Universal Mind Control??? Come on now, a dance song... you have to be kidding me. They are marketing for the N.W.O this is crazy and people bite into it hook, line and sinker... Real hip-hop is where the industrial complex has not stuck their heads into. Go underground for the love of GOD

  • the beat is bangin though...lol

  • Chinas kind've giving the NWO a hard time right now, rejecting the carbon tax

  • Yeh homie.I gotta agree.Unless Common is tryin to give us a subliminal warning or somethin, this is just fucked up.This aint the common I know & love..

  • you ain't lying. what happened to i used to love h.e.r? even the people had that flow, i feel you

  • w/o the sound, it look a damn 666, final count down video.

  • i think its great they put him in the new terminator

  • and wanted

  • i love this soonnnng :) :) :)

  • me two

  • only good song on this album.

went from speaking the truth about his life, his home, and his people, to talking about fucking girls, dancing and not to mention SELLING AMP ENERGY DRINK AND A COLOGNE WITH A "FIST" SHAPED BOTTLE.

Lost respect for himself, and from others.

It's just sad. He became what he NEVER was.

  • I think the song is cool; but I don't think it's the best thing on his album "Universal Mind Control". He had plenty of other songs to choose from off the album in my opinion that would have got him better record sales

  • i dont know wat all of u r saying about how it suck's and shit ....its awsome!!

  • what is this shit?

Just stick to making underground hip-hop.

why does he have to make party trash?

    he's already rich

  • i agree 100%

  • wtf are you talkin about. this is a great song, and yes it is a party song but its not trash. this shows a good artist when you can be universal with your music this is a good song.

  • i didn't like when it first came out but after reviewing a lot of old school hip hop from the real roxanne forward, i can respect what he's trying to do in this throwback to late 70's/early 80's afrika bombataa soulsonic style hip hop.

  • damn you got some knowledge!

  • u do know he copied this beat from afrika bambaataa

  • no! but I could have figured he got some major amount of different influences under his belt, which is what I like. So what's your type of beat? I'd like to know cuz I'm always interested in different types of sounds. And you sound like you be droppin the knowledge!

  • who cares rihana or some one copied the numa numa beat and nobodys saying shit

  • Thank you for at least doing some research before you comment. Unlike those on here who type with no reason but to sound sarcastic and ignorant. THIS IS AN HOMAGE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

  • umm def. not.. its a party anthem... so he makes a party anthem and now he's sold out? this track is AMAZING! its different! He took a different route and at the same time still paying homage to Hip-Hop pioneers and old school...

  • Like if you dont do a little experimenting you end up with CDs that are boring as fuck like Nas.

  • I don't know why y'all callin' this his worst song ever. All Common was doing in this song was having fun.

  • This song fuggin owns

  • this goes to Fiachraew and anyone else who wants to rag on common i mean its not like you people have talent like he does so just keep that in mind

yo lo lei y lo hise ...... Por si a las moscas!

  • i love this song

  • wut trips me out is that everyone sees a man make money and hes a sell out ... he did a good remake of afrika bambattas song but because he made some money and didnt put his real persona on da song we just label him a sellout ... if he didnt want to make money hed still be in peotry clubs ...so wut if he signed contracts with microsoft for loads of money ..i would and u would too u guys are ridiculous

  • I can see your point, I've been a fan of Common since '94, and this song does not show his true ability as one of the best MC's. His freestyle skills used to be legendary, I had a mix tape from '96 where he freestyled for like 8 minutes straight. But since I'm a B-boy, I think Hype did a good job of steeling Afrika Bam.s song, which is pretty much what all producers do now a days. Hip Hop needs a savior!

  • ^^ he dont even have to try ^^

  • WTF

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • 1.shut down computer

    2. fuck off

  • he had some good songs but common is dead to me now

  • yeah, with ya. stick to acting and hanging out with cameron diaz.

  • common killed this song....and not in a good way

lazy ass rhymes...cant wait to write something proper to this beat

  • this vid in proper quality and uncensored:

    vimeoDOTcom/4432708

  • this guy has signed corporate contracts to promote robots with microsoft. he is the biggest sellout. it is true. his new clothing deal with microsoft is called software.

  • Dang!? Blowing up on Common. I'm not disagreeing with what you have said, these 10 million comments, but I have to say something. Common is one of the most artistic minds that may be alive in this era and may have influenced many minds, but this song is more subliminal that outspoken. A lot of songs speak straight out, like past Nas songs; such as I Can or Hip-Hop is Dead. Maybe KRS-Ones Hip-Hop Lives will spark some thought. But it speaks a message that needs to be heard. The era we are..

  • ..living in is a technical era, and if you have to sink low into those techniques, then let it be. As Rakim has said, "Don't Sweat The Technique!" So many meanings, if you want to dis on people that are sellouts then add Kanye to your list. He went from, Stop the Blood Diamond Veins to Don't Stop Pumping the Main Vein! Luda spoke many words of wisdom and he speaks of the same UNIVERSAL MIND CONTROLLING lyrics. He may have sold out on Kid Cudi's I Poke Her Face, so i would agree with your words.

  • well i don't exactly understand what you are commenting on, but common had a major flaw in his video. If he is creating a futuristic technology theme he shouldn't have the only color in the video be the robot's eyes.

  • all these major music & t.v. corporations are owned by the same satanists thats why you have the same filth on every channel. if you want in you have to sell your soul and promote their ideas or you get no airplay. when you sign a contract you lose all your creative powers and become their minion. and yes common is sellout.

  • so...you like it is what you're saying

  • sweet ass song and video

  • soon i do a video of univmusicgrp & how they r destroying society through music & entertainment.
