That's true from what I've found killer2043, less weight more speed, less heat. This little boat works ok with the ballast it's got. I know what you mean though labtecftw. I think the same weight moved forward slightly might help. The options of rev's, gearing, weight, trim, prop and all the other options are magnified in a scratch built 15" displacement hull (I've tried), but there's more to be done yet.
I built it from scratch, no plans just an idea and some bits of wood (and some glue, and a motor....... and some rc bits and most important, varnish).
I checked your vid after your comment on mine. It's nice to see other scratchbuilt boats. I've got a stash of window-blinds with the idea of using them to build a clinker model someday, but blocks of styrafoam is the material of choice a the moment. (very messy)I like the evolution too.
Clinker built would be cool. A bit special. Might give that some thought myself. Thin laths, cut into strips on a frame. Working boat / large rowing boat style. Job to do after I my tweak my second boat and finish my third.
yeah it goes OK considering it's heavy with a 3" draft. Still testing more props. Tried a 30mm 4 blade brass. It worked too well and tried to roll the boat over.
not bad, significant improvement from the first run eh? Its interesting to see how it has evolved. However, I do think you are perhaps resting on you laurels somewhat. How about making it tow something like a surfer or shark? Or jump something? you know get a bit of James Bond action going on, or are you just a bit lazy? All you do is drive it round in circles. Give the viewers what they want we are worth it, we deserve it, and damn it we demand it!!!!!!! (by the way great rooster tail)
Cheers for the comment. Yep, a bit better than the first run. My laurels got bored and sank.
First rooster comment - (although closer to a small quail tail). Circles are nice in water, squares are possible, but a good triangle isn't. I'll work on the geometric aspect.
I booked J Bond for a filming, but he's busy all year, and Jaws got exploded /shot / fried .... so is unavailable, sorry.
do a how to make video!

put more weight into the BOW* we're talking about watercraft here lets use the apropriate vocabulary. I also recommend starboard, port, and stern ;)
